If you are looking for a place with a good services, I wouldn’t recommend this place….we sat there for about 20-min, got no water, and no one stopped by…..You need to help remove the table so they have room to place the food on their hands.

Excellent quality of meat! Compared to other so-called wagyu beef, this one is legit. We go for the premium wagye course and the Toraji course set. Next time we may order a la carte. Definitely coming back.

This was our second time coming here and we will definitely not be back. The food was great but experience was completely ruined by the terrible service. We got the premium Toraji course and there were big delays between when we received each cut to grill up ourselves. We were also not asked if wanted a refill on our drinks and had to ask to change our grill each time instead of the staff proactively changing it.

We had the wagyu and premium beef short rib and spicy rice soup and toraji salad . All were excellent quality and freshness. Meat is so well marbled and flavorful and tender. Marinated option was delicious.

I’ve been here for more than 40 times I guess since opening. It is the best bbq place in Manhattan. Even my friend frequently visiting Japan said it should be even way above average in Japan. My Japanese chef friends all love going there. So trust me, it is really good and offers many comfort food. The staff remembers me when I visit and I feel so welcomed.

The quality of the cuts of the meat, the on-point performance of the waitress, and the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant are nothing short of exquisite. It is expensive but definitely worth the price, a must-have dinner location for atleast once a year.

We arrived at the reserved time and sat at the entrance for 10 minutes with nobody greeting us. Several waitresses noticed us but seemed to be pretending that we were not there. They even walked by us a few times. Throughout the whole meal, we just felt like we were not welcomed there. After the meal, considering the service, we only tipped $20 (about 10%), the waitress told us that we “have to tip at least 18% minimum”. I understand that it’s getting more common nowadays with tip requirements but it was nowhere showing on the menu or previously disclosed. To be honest, we should be allowed to tip less when the service is bad. To be fair, the food is still amazing. I really hope they could improve the service in the future.

Ordered the A5 wagu & soups with appetizers. Waited an HOUR to get our food after being placed in the corner of the restaurant with a draft (30 degrees outside) a party that arrived 30 min after sitting right next to us received food at the same time as us, they ordered more food.. I hate to scream the race card but we were the only non-Asian’s in the establishment at the time. Food was good but it was blatantly obvious we were ignored.

Food is good. Price is high. Service was bad. The waiter confirms with the customer how far the course meal has been brought. The bill comes even though the dessert of the course has not arrived This is a restaurant where you pay $130 per person as just a course. Should give decent service
