   Outstanding. We enjoyed every bite and every sip (sake pairings). It is hard to pick a favorite. Fish quality was outstanding. Preparation was very good. Explanations were informative and added to the experience.

    Perfect meal. Welcoming and professional but approachable staff (for my experience two sushi chefs and a server) Nothing bad to say at all. Expertly curated meal, perfect amount of food. Very fresh very clean. They just get their product and fish delivers daily. 10/10 recommend. Best Japanese I’ve had in Toronto just ahead of Skippa.

    Yasu was a 10/10 experience. The Omakase was amazing and the sake pairings were perfect. Our favorite was the blue fin tuna - one of the best we’ve had. Service was also spectacular. Would highly recommend coming here!

    It was a nice experience and our first time. I accidentally booked a table not the bar so we didn’t get to see the full experience unfortunately. It is quite expensive for the amount of food you get but the food was incredible.

    Have you ever put a bite of food in your mouth and immediately breathed through your nose, slowed your chewing, closed your eyes, and smiled? This is how I felt when I put one of the single best morsels of sushi into my mouth the other night at Yasu. It was the chopped fresh tuna belly with a depressed centre filled to the brim with the finest Japanese Uni, floating on perfectly seasoned rice. Expensive? Yes. But you don’t have to go to Japan to have a truly authentic Omakase experience. We have it right here in Toronto. One of my top 5 restos in our fair city.

    The food was great. The service was attentive until the end. We were rushed out. I understand that this is a timed experience. However, this was a set menu with small items, so the servers had time to offer us the dessert earlier without ruining the end of the dinner.

    It felt like we travel to Japan. The food was outstanding, everything was fresh. We got the sake pairing with our dinner. The server’s and chef’s explained everything from the sake, to the different parts of the fish and where they came from. I would recommend to try it to friends and family.     Yasu is the first omíkase so we were highly curious to try the chef’s choice of items. We were seated at a cosy table however if I had to do it again I would choose the counter as it felt like a completely different experience; this is why I was not enamored by the place. The sushi course was excellent. The other fifteen courses were ok nothing fantastic. Sushi is hard to prepare and lots of nuances but I did find for the hefty price tag this restaurant fell short in creativity and flair. I left with a belly full of rice and no aha moments. We will not dine there again as it’s too overpriced. They do an 18% service tax which again seems high for a small omikase restaurant. I would have preferred that they left it up to us to decide the tip.

    Food was great as was the service. It’s more of an experience, and you are paying for that experience. If you are looking for all you can eat, or something that leaves you absolutely stuffed; this is NOT the place. The emphasis is on quality and presentation. The chefs here are also very accommodating and if you don’t want a certain thing, they’re willing to offer you alternatives.

    The best sushi I have had in Canada! Amazing Omakase experience. The chef/sushi masters were great and friendly. The only tinny improve would suggest is … the attitude/friendliness of a server… otherwise it would be perfect! Still, we had a great dinner! Thank you. Highly recommend Yasu.

    Top restaurant. The quality of the fish and the rice was fantastic. One of the best omakase I have tried! The staff was also very kind and dedicated. I was by myself but I felt very comfortable :).
