    The Wagyu Sliders and the Hamachi Ceviche were out of this world. Staffs were very friendly and provided honest recommendations. All 4 oysters I ate had a bit of shell.

    I always come here for fresh oyster and my all time fave drink the floating drink but to my disappointment last night our server cant make the bubble work .. she tried it 3x but she failed.. And its my birthday. was so disappointed. lol.. but nways.. oysters was food hope to have to west soon and love the sliders...

    What an amazing dinner!!!! The waitress was so kind and attentive from the moment we sat down. Food was awesome and fun!!! Would definitely come back again. Only wish I knew about it earlier.

    This was our first visit to Yokai Izakaya and will definitely not be the last. The moment we stepped into the restaurant we were warmly greeted by staff members, and promptly shown to our seating. We were given a great view of the skilled bar staff and cooks, which added to the evening’s experience. The venue is as appetizing to the eye as it is to the palette, with tasteful designs decorating every wall! We ordered a few different plates and drinks, wanting to try a large array of options: among my favourite dishes were the salmon tartare, crispy Brussel sprouts, and the 48hr short rib. We also enjoyed the chicken karaage, the dip was deliciously paired with the crispy dish. To finish we had a classic cheesecake dish, the Yuzu, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We happily indulged in a few drinks as well, with our favourites including the Seven Samurai Sour, Spicy Margarita and the Hanami Martini. Watching the skilled bartender Samuel Choi while we enjoyed our food was a wonderful dinner & show! He was incredibly attentive to our requests and made wonderful suggestions based on our preferences. Be sure to ask him for recommendations if you visit! We were shown such incredible hospitality by the Yokai Izakaya team, notably bartenders Sam & Rae, and I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! I assure you this is a hidden gem, perfect for many occasions; a romantic dinner, a night out with great company, or looking for a new culinary experience in the area without the need to venture all the way downtown! 10/10 recommend!

    The food was amazing. Beef tataki was exceptional as well as Assari Ponzu Duck breast, Angus Short Rib was the best dish overall. Service was fast and good. Music was too loud. The only one thing we didn't like, because usually you want to enjoy the food and communicate with the family. We would definitely come back. It's not ordinary Japanese cuisine, it's on a higher level and sophisticated presentation to please your taste if you are looking for something interesting and unusual.

    Food and service was mostly excellent. Had chicken skewers, croquettes, karaage, wagyu sliders, shrimp, tartare, maki which were all great. Also had ponzu duck which was disappointing. Flavour and texture were off.

    Amazing food ! Excellent service ! Only complaint is that the pickled salad was extremely small. It was super delicious so wish the portion was bigger ! The burgers, oysters and ebi risotto were so fresh and flavourful!

    Great date night spot! The cocktails are always delicious and the food comes super quick. Our go to spot for izakaya. All the dishes are yummy and even the counter seats are comfy. We actually like watching the chefs cook.

    Amazing! Went with my girlfriends for a belated birthday celebration. Service was on point, food was amazing (sharing platters) and music was good. Hidden gem. Don’t even feel like your in Vaughan.

    You won’t regret coming here! The staff and the vibes are amazing, they’re so hospitable and are extremely kind. The food is unreal… I recommend their Ebi Nori Risotto and Brussel Sprouts!

    Great food great service. Would definitely go back. Order less because you can always order more. Seating at standard table for 2 is tight and the seats are uncomfortable. No place to put a jacket. Service overall very very good. I personally like to get my bill and like to have time to look it over. They brought our bill and then proceeded to hoover over us to pay.

    loved my server, she got us these smooth sake bombs cause we waited to be seen for over 10mins (place was poppin) which was so sweet & service thereafter was exceptional. that signature maki was to die for and the miso salmon was bomb. the atmosphere is beautiful and seating is comfortable no matter where you are.

    Not a fan of being ushered out after dinner by the owner at 10pmwith the excuse of a 'large party' was on it way. 3 adults that paid for a full meal and drinks should be allowed to remain at the table especially when the restaurant was empty.

    The service and food was AMAZING. I love the style of the space as well. And I can’t believe no one mentioned how amazing the washrooms are! I think every restaurant should have Google speakers in their washroom stalls, the music and ambience was again .. amazing!

    My party of 7 guys had a great dinner at Yokai Izakawa! Food and service were superb. Loved that we got presents with every pitcher of Sapporo we ordered. Only complaint was the set dining time limit. They basically told us we had to leave. I get it, there must be other reservations and it is a relatively small place. But, it's hard to fathom telling guests "no" when they are up for buying an expensive bottle of champagne to end the night - not even offering a table on the patio. And while I sympathize with their "timed seating" policy, my friends will probably not return just because of that.
