Yukashi Japanese Cuisine
starting with the service, you are greeted by the most hospitable staff. the entire experience to the food, to speaking w/ the chef, and the little details (including bringing a happy anniversary dessert) were all much appreciated.
A must try, beautiful experience of Japanese Kaiseki cuisine! Highly recommended.
All around wonderful meal and experience.
Service was good but food were very disappointed.
We can only finished 3 out of 9 courses due to general lack of quality in flavour. Steam egg custard with crab ball and clams were very fishy with an unpleasant odour. Bean puree was not smoth, bean residue made it difficult to swallow. Kimedai was blend and not fresh. Deep fried fish skin was not crispy and rather tough on palate. Duck meat ball had no duck flavor. For $150 per head I would expect a much better menu and quality.
Amazing culinary experience! A real treat for sashimi lovers. High quality and fresh ingredients. The chef is real artist! We enjoyed 8 course meal with sake parring. Delicious!
My partner and I enjoyed the 9-course meal each. For the quality of cuts of the fish and the authenticity of the ingredients, the price was very fair. The chef plated each course very nicely and was very interactive & entertaining. I would definitely come back to enjoy his works of art!
Food could be better with the price. Some very heavy and unbalanced sauces and tastes. Fishy smells in some dishes. But overall good experience. Good sakes.
food presentation was art on a plate. That alone is worth the experience. Best to sit at bar counter to see the chef in action and chat/interact with him. That made the night. Food wise, I think the flavour was slightly disappointing but again the experience was what made it an amazing night.
Hands down the most amazing Japanese restaurant in Toronto. Taste, texture, presentation - pure artistry from a true artist. The dishes are phenomenal! I urge every one with an interest in traditional Japanese cuisine to check out this little gem of a place. Thank you Master Izutsu for an outstanding experience. Our fourth time at your table and every dish was was sensational....!
An adventure in textures and flavors in Japanese food.
Lovely experience having the 9 course tasting, sitting at the chef’s table.
Excellent service. Owner/Chef Daisuke is such a nice person
Extraordinary food and experience! I cannot wait to return next season!
We had a wonderful nine-course meal with sake pairing. The owner/chef and his remarkable staff could not have been more delightful or knowledgeable. Each exquisite course was a masterpiece.
It was truly a beautiful experience. The chef was an culinary artist of the highest order.
Everything has been great. All courses are matched very well and to the right portion. Plating has been fantastic. Definitely worth the price. Only thing that I wish could have is sushi.
Fantastic and unique experience! Yukashi has a eclectic and delicious food style of high end Japanese seasonal ingredients. Ambience is warm, quiet and contemporary. Sit at the bar for the best view.
Excellent food!!! Excellent service!! Gem in Toronto! Not to miss!
Absolutely amazing food, and nice staff! A must try if you like Japanese food!!!
Delicious food. I am so happy to have this restaurant in the neighbourhood. We had the 9 course meal and each course was creative and delicious. What a treat!
Amazing experience loved food and staff
Be prepared, it will take your about 2.5 hours to finish the meal.
Too long for dinner, took me 2.5 hours
A unique experience. A must try.
I ordered the 4 piece meal omakase and was given two extra dishes on the house. Excellent service, excellent cooking, and very awesome and friendly staff!
good taste！i like this feeling.
Overall it was a unique and good experience. Some of the food was definitely not for the traditional North American pallet but nevertheless if you are looking for something unique this is a great spot. If you can afford to do so and you are into Japanese style food I would recommend giving it a go
Kaiseki in Toronto doesn’t get any better than this. Chef Daisuke knocks it out of the park every time. His culinary creations are not to be missed.
Fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine by a prestigious chef. It’s hard to find this level of high quality Japanese cuisine outside of Japan.
Had an outstanding night at Yukashi. The chef made it personal and fun! Every course was presented beautifully and he took time to explain what was presented. Chef Daisuke's took time after the course to converse with his diners personally and we learned quite a bit. Definitely worth going!
Every course was presented beautifully and has mind-blowing flavour locked into every bite. Being able to watch the chef prepare the meals was also a nice treat.
Fantastic food, creative presentation, seamless service and intimate ambiance under a watchful eye of a Master Chef. What else can one ask for a special celebration?!
Sheer artistry! Not your typical Japanese fare. So much more!
Service was great, food hmm i didn’t like it too much but it was good and fresh. l rate 4 stars for the price cuz i was expecting more. Overall everything was excellent.
My boyfriend was pleasantly surprised. We felt like we had a personal experience and got to interact a lot with the chef. Great sake selection and the presentation of food was spectacular.
The first few dishes were nice, but all soups were too salty. I told the waitress that the soup was too salty and next dishes please add less salt. However, the coming soup was still way to salty which I cannot eat it!
Super friendly staff and beautiful delicious food. Chef Daisuke's attention to detail made this extra special for our occasion.
The presentation was beyond incredible. Choice of composition of ingredients was also very unique. Blending of both Kaiseki and omakase experience.
Without a doubt the best Japanese food in the city! Every dish is a visual pleasure and every mouthful is a taste and texture sensation. We chose the four course menu which we found filling, although there is a 9 course too. The Sake we had was outstanding, chilled, sweet and aromatic. Every course is a surprise, the chef chooses, which we loved each sublime surprise that arrived. They also have a small a la carte menu, the Wague, sea urchin and fois grois is a must have dish. A smalll quaint restaurant with unassuming decor with the most outstanding food in the city - what a find....! Thank you....!
