   It was a true experience to dine at Yukashi. Beautifully presented, incredible flavours and the atmosphere was wonderful. The space is intimate and the staff is totally in sync, there is a quiet and professional harmony. The chef is an incredible artist, you can tell that not only by the food he creates but the unity he creates with his staff and his customers.

    We had a wonderful kaiseki experience with chef Daisuke, his whole team is friendly and courteous. Each of the nine courses highlighted the theme of Spring, with seasonal ingredients and exquisite flavours. The umami flavours were spot on and very distinctive, with a hint of floral and citrus fragrance which paid homage to the season of Spring. Plating of the food was literally a work of art with lots of visually pleasing components and contrasting colours. Overall a very memorable and special experience.

    This was truly a special experience! We did the sake tasting as well and were able to split it. Every dish was so meticulously and beautifully prepared, we were blown away each time. Chef clearly had put his heart and soul into every dish he was preparing and could tell you the backstory to every piece of food on the plate. He was very friendly and wanted to get to know every patron - truly incredible experience and food I suggest everyone try!

    Excellent chef's table experience. Recently minted with a Michelin star and worth a visit if you live in or are coming to Toronto. The wagyu beef was mouth-watering as was the toro. The sesame tofu course was wonderful. Careful thought goes into each course and the presentations are beautiful. The sake pairing is not to be missed if you are a sake fan.

    This was my first time going and… WOW - No wonder they got a Michelin star. It was a pleasure to sit at the counter and watch Chef Daisuke Izutsu prepare each dish. Every single dish was a work of art. You must go for the sake pairing as well. Each drink complements the dish it’s served with. Can’t wait to be back again!

    All of the dishes tasted wonderful and were meticulously crafted. Daisuke Izutsu has done a spectacular job curating a kaiseki meal that serves a strong variety of flavors. Some of the main dishes were also entertaining to eat as there were many fun bite sized pieces to pick at. Ultimately, my stomach left the restaurant warm and satisfied!

    I had a really bad day and the chef’s hospitality def made my day. He’s very talented and humble.. every plate had its own beauty and was very delicious! I went there 5 mins earlier and the staff didn’t open the door, I went in a little upset for them leaving us in the cold but speaking with the chef and tasting his amazing food def brighter up the mood.

    Definitely an amazing experience. The food was not only delicious but also presented so beautifully.     What a perfect evening! From the moment the team confirmed our reservation the night before, until the moment the chef said goodbye in person at the door, we had amazing service and ate very well. Delicious ingredients, and very interesting to watch Daisuke and team prepare the meals, plus chat through various items. Highly recommended and we will definitely go again.     My first review in Canada and my favourite place to eat in Canada! Chef’s ingenuity creates a modern kaiseki menu that highlights Japanese and Canadian seasonal ingredients through a variety of traditional Japanese techniques and modern gastronomy. The dishes here are balanced in flavour and texture with gorgeous plating and fragrant aroma to invoke the perfect taste. The easy ambience of a mom and pop restaurant and chef’s great sense of humour also contribute to the experience and put you at ease.
