I tried this restaurant in early May (a Saturday) and loved the freshness of the raw food and creativity of other dishes as I like former Zest. I tried it again yesterday and felt that there was difference on the preparation of same kind of dishes as well as the freshness & varieties of the sashimi in which also affected the taste. I wonder if it is better to attend on Saturday then weekdays. Anyhow, it is still my favourite restaurant and would like to try again.

いちばんすきです！ This was by far my best Japanese dining experience in Vancouver. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. The service was efficient, though a little lacking in rapport. I will be going back to try the other delights on the varied menu. Highly recommended.

It was my husbands birthday. Everyone in the restaurant made us so comfortable. Our server Hideki was so great. He recommended a couple of things we may not have chosen and they were delicious. We were so glad we asked him for help. All the staff and the owner show their pride in being part of this wonderful restaurant.

Amazing first time. Always wanted to go since we're in the neighborhood and so pleased we finally made it. Wonderfully experience start to finish. Flavours were nuanced and creative, plating stunning, and the quality of the seafood was top notch. Loved it.

Great Sashimi selection - unbelievably fresh and served with the right garnishes. My daughter had the Wagyu steak - it is clearly one of the best we have tasted anywhere. Wine and Sake lists are not extensive but provide many quality choices. We will come back anytime - it is worth the trip from downtown Vancouver as it is so much better than the restaurants in the city.

Went for a birthday dinner on our vacation (from NYC) and Yuwa didn't disappoint. Facility, ambiance and service were top notch. Food selection was great, especially if you aren't looking for just sushi (which is amazing also). Highly recommend, do not miss.

It was good, but not quite as good as other times. There was a confusion on some Aburi sushi whereby they didn't sear the sushi (thus aburi) because we put may on the side. The prices for the maki are on the rich side. They are good, but $19 for negitoro is a lot. It was well done, but too expensive for what it was. Service was decent, but versus last time when it was attentive and exceptional this time it was a little more scattered.

It is always nice to have dinner there. Excellent food, service. The only downside that night was noise. Customers in a big group talked very, very loud each other and it made us to chat very difficult. I believe they are happy with lots of drink, but I wish they could consider other people there.

Edamame with no salt, yummy agedashi tofu, crab roll, miso soup, yam aagedashi which was ok but not outstanding, a new beer called “Okinawa Beer” which was great, individual sushi and a few other things that I cannot spell. Service is outstanding, and you can watch the food being made. It is always our first choice for Japanese food!!

This is our favourite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. You would never know it is there but in our view in rivals Tojo's in quality, innovation, and service. We have been going for years and years and have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and interesting and presented so beautifully.

It was an amazing experience for my first time attending your restaurant. The servers were fabulous, the good presentation was superb, and the food tasted lovely. I have never tasted sake that was so good. It was light and almost fruity on my palette, served at the right temperature. The birthday girl got an amazing dessert of black sesame seed ice cream with a lit candle. That was special. My only complaint would be the prices were a little steep. But overall, I really enjoyed my dinner. Well done Yuwa!
