   We have dined at Zarak three times and they never cease to create an exceptional experience. It’s clear that the staff and owners care deeply about the cuisine and love to share it with others. They are attentive, fun, and looking to make your time with them special. The food is consistently delicious - some favourites are the fried chicken, slow cooked lamb, and Mum’s Secret tres leches cake as well as the clarified margarita and Xi Fei cocktails. I could eat here every day and be thrilled.

   Innovative menu with interesting tweaks on classic dishes and delicious seasonings. Coffee was delicious. Service was excellent. My only frustration with the ambience was the noise level. It was hard to talk at our table because of the background noise. The non alcoholic drink combinations were excellent. We will return.

   I really enjoyed Zarak’s brunch menu and was always curious to try their dinner menu, and I can’t believe I waited so long because every dish was amazing. Our server Aman was so attentive and so personable. He took the time to not only introduce himself but also guide us through the menu. He shared the story of traditional Afghan dining where everyone shares meals and with that lead with menu pairings. With his help we managed to get a good balance of everything! Veggies, protein, and carbs. Each dish was dancing with flavour and our waters were always being topped up! It was also my best friend’s birthday which I mentioned in the notes but she is super shy so when we saw the birthday desert being dropped off we both panicked a little bit but Aman quickly clocked our expressions and refrained from singing. Because he had asked us for our names at the beginning of the night he was able to personalize her birthday desert plate with her name in the writing. His attentiveness is refreshing since the place was buzzing on a Sunday night. It was a great meal. Great food. Great design. Great vibes.

   From start to finish, from the fare to the ambiance, Zarak presents an outstanding dining experience that integrates a fine infusion of Afghani flavours with your tradition West Coast brunch. A modest selection of closely curated dishes will leave you in awe of the mastery within the kitchen here is bound to leave you with a lasting impression and an appetite for more. In addition to the delicious bites and phenomenal drinks, the service here carefully guides your experience with succinct descriptions and inviting warmth. As a retired server, I appreciated the precision of staff in their table maintenance as well as their presence. I look forward to joining Zarak for dinner soon.

   We enjoyed the special cocktails, buttermilk fried chicken, mantu and veal karahi. Everything was outstanding! The service was just right and we enjoyed the evening immensely!! I look forward to going back.
