    For New Year's Eve 2023 to celebrate our incredible year, Zarak presents a curated 4-course menu featuring unique Afghan, and Afghan-inspired dishes created by our culinary team. There is also an add-on for a cocktail tasting menu designed by Head Bartender Winnie Sun. Non-alcoholic substitution is available for selection. A la carte cocktail menu will also be available for the night. This event is non-refundable, but transferable, if given us notice. A la carte food menu will NOT be offered. There is a 2-hour time limit for each reservation starting at your original reservation time; Kindly plan for precise arrival.

    The buttermilk fried chicken was the best dish. Portions are huge! Perfect for sharing. The flight of chutneys and the Mocktails were not up to the mark. I would recommend Zarak.

    We have been to Zarak previously and it is always jammed pack. We all ordered mocktails, Bamyan stands out as it comes with a popsicle but the other drinks are delicious as well. Our favourite dish is their dumplings, simple yet flavourful. And there are 3 different kinds to choose. We had the spicy cabbage, the spice level is noticeable but not overwhelming. We also ordered the mushroom kebab, brussels sprouts, Dahl, chicken kebab, steelhead & bolani. They were all well presented and tasty. Our server is very knowledgeable & attentive. She also gave us good suggestions on the dishes we ordered when it is a family style - shared plates. Sometimes, it is difficult to know if we ordered too much. And in the end, we cleared all our plates and it was just right. We will definitely go back and try their other dishes.

    The waitress who served my friend and I couldn't be nicer. For some reason, everyone is born on November 26 (including myself) so there were multiple tables celebrating yesterday which is not easy on the staff. My friend and I's 8pm reservation took a minute to sit because of all the chaos and we were offered complimentary drinks by a bartender (it worked, my friend loved it so much she ordered one!) The food, as always, was amazing and flavourful. Every server we came in contact with was kind and knowledgeable -but our main server was sweet as can be. Just a delight that made an already special dinner more wonderful. Thanks for helping me turn 39 with a very happy tummy!

    Had an amazing weekend brunch here. The service was friendly and impeccable and the food was a delicious take on brunch. We were also appreciative to be able to make a reservation. Will definitely be back next time we’re in the city!

    Not sure why the starters was all too spicy and not very flexible for this part, I believe they should have asked if we want spicy or not. We went as a group. besides the spicy part, other things were perfect

    Our family had a birthday dinner here and it's such a great gem in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood! We had their feature cocktail and seasonal items, in addition to some mainstays (braised lamb shank, Uzbek Palau, various vegetable sides) and most of their desserts. Everything is served family-style--if you're unsure how much food to order, definitely ask like we did! Though it was a first time visit for most of the folks, I've been here for their brunch menu (which is well worth the visit). If you've been to their sister restaurant, Afghan Kitchen in South Surrey, you can think of Zarak as their higher end restaurant. The food and flavours are still diverse and varied but there's more of a fusion-feel at Zarak. Service is friendlier than the average Vancouver restaurant, so be prepared to feel welcome here!

    We celebrated our anniversary at Zarak and we’re blown away by the attention to detail. From our server, to the bartender, to the kitchen staff, everyone made sure we had the best possible dining experience. The server was incredibly thorough with our dietary needs and had excellent recommendations for both food and drink, asking all the right questions and pairing tastes together as our food came out in an order she recommended. The bartender was very engaging and kind. The food tasted phenomenal, so many delicious flavours. Can’t wait to go back!

    Very sad you’ve taken the green beans and tomato braised chicken off the menu- this has always been what’s brought me back so to see both gone was heartbreaking (dramatic I know). Sadly our short rib was dry, and very small for $42. Very disappointing especially since we saw the size of the lamb, at the same price!! Everything else- fried chicken, bolani and Brussels were great. However with the change in menu and disappointing main dish, I won’t be rushing back. Excellent service!

    By far one of the best restaurants my fiancé and I have ever been to. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was outstanding. Such and attention to detail. We will 100% be back again! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

    I was really looking forward to checking this place out but unfortunately, my experience was lacklustre. Food and service was good/ok, but overall my experience was disappointing. My reservation was at 12:30. They sat me at approximately 12:38 pm and at 1:42 pm (yes, I checked my phone) asked me to pay my bill and vacate my table as they had another reservation. I was not informed in advance of the table time limit. I was shocked! Also, also bill was $85 (without tip; with tip $105) for two. In my opinion, not worth it.

    Unforgettable experience! We'll be going back for Brunch for sure. On top the exceptional service, ambience and one of a kind menu, the meat is also Halal. So easy to entertain guests and clients at Zarak. If you have out of town guests visiting Vancouver, Zarak is a must-stop !!
