   The food was great! The atmosphere was nice and allowed our group of 3 mothers and 3 daughters to catch up and share stories. It was a good value and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

   Can’t remember the last time a restaurant charged for refills of fountain drinks. $10 for 4 diet cokes that probably cost the restaurant about 25 cents. Would have been nice if the server mentioned it beforehand. Have been a regular at Zim’s and all of her restaurants but unlikely to continue if this is how they want to treat their customers.

   We went for brunch and it was nice but didn’t blow us away. The crispy chicken sandwich was great, as were some pastries we tried (sweet potato muffin especially). But the omelette and cheesy potato casserole were very average. And we ordered a mimosa “pitcher” which came with several juices - a nice touch! But it took probably 20 min to come out, after we had gotten our food. The place is cute and our server was great. We enjoyed it overall but probably wouldn’t come back.

    Always great food and great customer service. Have visited many times and have always loved the food, the people and the atmosphere. Especially love the Valentines wine pairing menu. The selection was on point and look forward to doing it again at the next Wine me Up night.

    Had been to Zim’s a couple of times for lunch and dinner and had great experiences. Unfortunately for brunch, the food was less than I had expected. Both the quiche and hash brown casserole were cold. Perhaps I should have ordered something that had to be prepared to order as opposed to something that was per-made. Service and ambiance were good as usual.

    We dined there on our way to the UK game. Our server was fun, delightful and very efficient. The food was spot on delicious and a great size portion. The restaurant is so consistently good! A great experience and the Wildcats won their game! Zims…we’ll be back!

    First of all, we ate on a very busy and eventful Saturday in Lexington and fortunately made a reservation to get to the Opera House on time. A very wise decision. We were seated fifteen minutes early and promptly seated in the Thirsty Fox. Our server arrived quickly and although very busy he was still attentive. The artichoke appetizer was excellent and fresh from the fryer. My husband’s pot roast was in his words, good! That’s a compliment. My Cobb salad was lacking in substance and heavy with greens. The chicken was cold and the typical Cobb salad ingredients aside from the egg and red onion were exceedingly sparse. Pretty disappointing. I would not order it again. That all being said, we would return but not rushing back.

    Really like Zim’s for breakfast and decided to try dinner. We had the open face roast beef sandwich and the fried catfish. The the roast beef was just okay and there was not much of it on top of about 1/2 cup of smashed potatoes. The gravy was thick and fairly tasteless. My friend was not happy with the fish, two smallish fillets, he thought they were tasteless and the hush puppies were fair at best. The service was wonderful as was the atmosphere. I would try it again for dinner and definitely continue to get breakfast.

    Been to most of Quita Michels restaurants had not been to Zims, what a disappointment. Had shrimp and grits and bbq chicken sandwich, shrimp and grits were great but chicken sandwich was not at all. Bun was so dry it crumbled when held to eat, fries w/ sandwich were still white , terrible flavor. We thought something must not be right when server did not return to check on anything and when he did he apologized for not being around.(5:00 in afternoon not busy at all). When we brought to his attention the issue and requested a box he took sandwich and said he was showing to kitchen. Never seen food again but we paid for it. Very bad experience for one of Quita’s restaurants. WILL NOT RETURN….other folks should not waste their time and money here. Hope ie changes…As we were leaving look like the entire staff were at the front watching us leave..Should have been worrying about others food!

    We wanted a new spot to have dinner. We found Zims and we were not disappointed. Our server was great, the food was delicious, the atmosphere warm and welcoming. We will be back! Until then, you should go😃

    We had a nice meal with prompt, attentive service. We just stopped in for a quick bite. Had the always wonderful artichoke fritters, a hamburger with bacon and beer cheese and a chicken sandwich. My side of cheese grits were fabulous but my husband’s mashed potatoes needed salt. Overall, a nice evening. We both liked the ambiance.

    I am a fan of Ouita Michel and have been wanting to try Zim’s for awhile. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. First, we ordered scones and they were out of all scones. No big deal so we ordered entrees. I had the quiche and grits. The grits were overly salty and not cheesy at all. They need Honeywood’s grits here. The quiche was bland and not very hot. My niece ordered the breakfast platter and with hash brown casserole. The platter was ok but the casserole was dry, cold, and hard. Cracker Barrel has nothing to worry about here. My other guests weren’t satisfied with their meals either. We shared tarts from Martines for dessert that were hard as rocks. Our server, Christopher, was attentive. Overall, we were disappointed and will find other brunch places in the future

    Made reservation for table of 8 a week in advance. Host stand appeared overwhelmed and unaware of the request. Once it was realized there was a reservation, we were seated in bar area next to band and bartender served the table.

    Best $15 meal I’ve ever had. Space is no-frills and a little quirky, but food and drinks were excellent. My blackened catfish was perfect, and the daily veggies (mushrooms and broccoli) were delicious. Great bang-for-your-buck food taste, though ambiance suffered. Not bad, but unremarkable.

    This restaurant is great to take friends visiting from out of town. The food is delicious and the prices are affordable. I also like the bakery in front too. Though free parking on a Sunday afternoon might be hard to find, there is an inexpensive pay lot across the street.

    Very disappointing. Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon served cold. Asked for a straw several times and it never came. Had to ask for coffee refills which is odd during breakfast. Coffee usually flows. I made the reservation based on previous good reviews so perhaps we happened to be there on a bad day.
