    Starting with smoked trout and potato pancakes and then on to artichoke hearts with cheesy goodness alongside the tasty lamb and finally creamy key lime pie. YUM ! And I had so many waiting on me that I don't even know which one was the server. It was awesome!

    This was a disappointing experience. The server was nice but overwhelmed & very slow. The goat cheese appetizer was only meh; the description sounded like it came with cheese, olives, & roasted garlic. Instead the goat cheese was too strong with small bits of olives & garlic. I ordered the Manhattan steak frites cooked medium rare. It was literally burned all over. A charred outside would have been fine if the steak itself hadn’t been completely cooked to well done, tough, & tasteless. The frites were fine, as was the toffee torte. One friend ordered the fish special & said it wasn’t very good, & my other vegetarian friend said she makes better Angel hair pasta & she’s not a good cook. The whole experience was definitely not worth the money.

    You'll want to park either in front, if available, or across the street by the bank. Aside from parking being slightly challenging, the restaurant was outstanding in every way. The duck confit eggrolls are a must, really tasty. I had the lamb and my wife had the Opah, both were outstanding. The cellar downstairs is simply another (larger) bar then what's upstairs. Great if it's too crowded upstairs. Service was extremely attentive and friendly, even though the restaurant was pretty full. Highly recommend!

    Superb food. Everything from the appetizers, sides, salads, entrees, to dessert, and even the drinks was just THE BEST! We had a large party of 11 and service was friendly, accurate, and fast. Atmosphere was cool with a modern vibe. Reasonably priced for such a nice place we love this place for all the right reasons. Thank you!

    This is our 2nd time at Zinc (upstairs) since they have reopened. Food was excellent, service impeccable and the ambiance was classy but not pretentious. Highly recommend.

    I and my wife went to Zinc on a Saturday evening. We had reservations and were seated right away. My wife ordered the caramelized onion and Portobello ravioli, a very nice dish with asparagus, fava beans, and a quite tasty pesto. I ordered the lamb loin with roasted potatoes and feta. It was prepared rare, as I requested. As a side, we split their vegetable medley, which was plenty for the two of us. The vegetables were very good, each vegetable seasoned and cooked properly, served slightly al dente. Their bread was very good and, at our request, was served with some extra virgin olive oil for dipping. Zinc has a more than adequate wine list, and we had a Ridge Zinfandel that went quite well with our entrées. Our server was excellent and knew how to properly open and serve the wine, which we don’t often encounter. For dessert, we split their cherries jubilee special. While we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, note that the restaurant is loud, making conversation a bit difficult.

    This was one of the best dining experiences in a long time. While everywhere else seems to be having problems finding enough good quality servers this is not the case here. Great service! Great food! Great drinks! Bravo Zinc!

    The four of us had never dined here back in the olden days, but we didn’t care about needing to compare. It was absolutely delicious. We chose the veggie tempura and smoked trout apps, a special salad, a bowl, ahi tuna, lamb, and a porterhouse steak special. Everyone enjoyed everything they ordered. Absolutely worth going! Our only down side is it’s a long drive for us to dine on Central, which isn’t the restaurant’s fault, but we’ll just probably not dine here as often as we’d like even though it was an outstanding evening. We’ll try to get back down there soon!

    So happy they reopened. Their menu use to be a little longer and they use to have sweet wine. Everyone in our party loved their food. My entree was very good (ravioli) but I will try something else next time. I always love their appetizers. We shared fried vegetables and duck egg rolls. Also had cesear salad. Others in our party had ahi tuna (3 people) and chicken pillard saltambuca. Also had chocolate mouse cake.

    Cocktails were strong and delicious. Fen hi onion soup was incredible. Elk special with cherries was a huge hit as was the beef tenderloin. Both were so incredibly tender and yet still moist. Strawberry shortcake for op off the meal was perfect. It was a little too loud, it was hard to hear the person at the same table, but good, service, and ambiance otherwise were great. We were so glad zinc was as we remembered and did not let us down

    My husband and I enjoyed an early dinner at Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro following a matinee performance at the Popejoy. We thought the ambiance we great (it reminded us of one of our favorite restaurants in the Bay Area). Service was attentive and our order came quickly. My husband had the lamb, I had a Caesar salad with steak and we shared an order of fries. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed the wine selection as well. We had an early reservation and the restaurant only started getting busy as we were on our way out. It was quiet when we were there, but I'd imagine that it might get loud if all the tables are occupied. We look forward to our next visit.

    Zinc is back! We ate dinner there only the second night they were open upstairs, and the reopening went as smoothly as silk. The space is freshened up, the servers knew the menu and were attentive, and the food we ate was good to very good to great (great being the steak frites, the onion soup and the Caesar salad; very good being the tempura veggies; good the mashed potatoes - too much cheese for me).

    Our server was Allegra and she was amazing. The duck confit egg rolls were as good as remembered. The food was excellent and the portions seemed a bit bigger even. So glad the Roessler brothers have reopened this gem in Nob Hill!

    Appetizers were delicious, goat cheese and trout apps, were very good and presented well. Ravioli was tough and thick, perhaps under cooked. Lamb was excellent. They need to invest in true martini glasses. Wait staff needs more training. Happy they are back on the dining front

    Ever employee we talked to was friendly and accommodating. I don't remember our servers name, but he was so pleasant and wonderful. The food was FANTASTIC (duck egg rolls, blood orange salad, and steak frites) and I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time we're in the area.

    Another terrific meal at Zinc. Kitchen staff is among the best in town; and they regularly delivery carefully composed, delicious dishes. The serving staff is pretty well trained and they do make the dining experience quite enjoyable.

    The opentable menu was outstanding for variety of choice, flavor and amount of food per serving. Very happy we tried this. The wines selected with discount were too pricey for our budget, but rest of the wine list was fine.

    Went for restaurant week but will be back because it was amazing!! Appetizers were delicious and generous, had to take home half my entree! Flavors were interesting and unique, dishes were cooked perfectly. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Had a nice quiet table in the bar near the windows which was perfect fir the two of us. Anxious to try another prix fix meal.
