Zucca Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
The food was favorable but a little too salty for our taste.
I mistakingly booked a table for six for a Sunday night that was suppose to be Friday and when we actually arrived on Friday at 8:30pm what I thought was our night, to my surprise I realized I had mixed up the two date. The manager encouraged us to remain and that he would figure something out and low and behold within 15 minutes, a table for six was put together and from that point on we had a wonderful night. The food is delicious and the service is spectacular. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!
Nice menu, decent wine list, great food and presentation, great service, great vibe. Overall very enjoyable Friday night neighbourhood restaurant.
Bad, bad, bad, bad. Expensive. Bad, bad, bad, bad. Expensive.
Friendly, attentive service.
One of our favs. Highly recommend.
Always great food, wines and service. Showed up 20 minutes before our 5:30 reservation and they opened their doors to let us in out of the cold - even though they were still setting up for the evening.
Excellent food. I very much enjoyed the Cornish hen, which was surprisingly spicy. While I like spicy food, this should be mentioned when ordering as it could be a problem for some. My husband had an excellent pasta dish for his main course, but it was quite a small portion, more like an appetizer. Service was great.q
Very good food as usual, my only negative i thought the breast of duck portion was on the small side but very tasty , thank you
Zucca continues to shine. Excellent food and great service. Starters included the octopus which was cooked perfectly-tender and delicious. The pasta entrees were well done. Refreshing to have homemade pasta with different sauces. Love the use of celery root in the dishes-added a nice subtle taste. We even made room for dessert-gelato mango and hazelnut and the chocolate dessert for two was admittedly much but who can resist such great food!
Slow service unfortunately. Branzino was dry not as tasty as ive had here previously. Pasta not exceptional. Low value for $100 per person meal
The passion for the food and customer experience is obvious in the service. The food was wonderful, service just right - can't wait to return. A new favorite.
Creative food that never fails to deliver. Have been coming here for years and it keeps getting better!
First time experience! Will definitely come back. Warm atmosphere.
I love Zucca!! Never disappointed.Food is delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Best fish in town!!!
Best whole fish in the City - grilled to perfection with a pinch of salt and olive oil. Relatively new wait staff a big improvement over past years - love the place but secretly wish for them to occupy a slightly larger space so that they can offer bar service....
Had a great time at Zucca. Service was top notch and friendly. Would definitely return.
Food was authentic, cooked perfectly, and delicious.
Corkage program is a nice bonus too.
Consistently sensational, from Blair's warm greeting upon our arrival, through the professional and knowledgable service, to the spectacular food. We usually default to the excellent fish choices however this visit we tried the grilled and sliced steak (Tagliata di Manzo) sitting on a salad with pickled mushrooms, shaved parmigiana reggiano, and a balsamic vinegar drizzle. Tremendous! The highlight of the night was the grilled octopus with a purée of lava beans, roasted fennel & radicchio. This appetizer has been a mainstay of their menu for decades; however this fall's version is my all-time favourite. Will return for it again soon.
The food was outstanding and the service just as good. I highly recommend it!
Right from the bread and straight to the dessert, our meals were absolutely delicious. The bread was warm, with a perfect crust and excellent crumb. It was served with a very fresh, herb flavoured olive oil that had a grassy aroma. Lovely! Typically none of us eat the bread that is served in most restaurants, but all of enjoyed Zucca's bread because it was fantastic. (I will be returning to this restaurant for the bread alone!) The Caciocavallo plate of crostini and cheese was a bit sparse, but the cheese was flavourful and the crostini fresh and crisp. One person at our table ordered the fish of the day and he said it was cooked to perfection. My mushroom ravioli with truffle sauce was out of this world delicious. Another person enjoyed the uniquely flavoured squid ink pasta with octopus. The side dish of perfectly roasted vegetables included brussels sprouts, carrots, sweet potatoes and other vegetables (possibly parsnip) was exquisitely flavourful. Everyone enjoyed a taste of the dessert: figs sauteed in wine served with mascarpone cheese which was slightly sweet, and had a delightfully buttery flavour. It was a unique and creamy ending to a fantastic meal.
Always a great meal at Zucca. Fantastic pastas, and grilled fish is a specialty.
We love going to Zucca. Great staff and wonderful food.
Amazing food. Authentic italian, well prepared and presented.
One of the absolute best restaurants of the city...consistently exemplary in delivering great food and great service.
A restaurant that has stood the test of time with fresh, flavourful taste sensations, an attractive Italian wine list and friendly, attentive service.
Speak to Blair, the owner and host, who will make you feel very welcome.
Great food, interesting and flavourful combinations. Friendly staff. Extremely knowledgeable host re Italian wine.
My wife and I were very disappointed. the whole fish was good but the dinner experience was spoiled because we were continuously and annoyingly rushed throughout our stay. If I want to eat fast then we would have gone to McDonalds. The host was so rude that he asked if we could leave so that he could accommodate "walk ins". Past dinners at Zucca were fine but we were offended by this experience and would never go back.
Fantastic as always! They are demanding 50 characters of me so I’ll see terrific too!
The food was terrific and the service was fantastic. Definitely coming back!
Food's ok, but service lacking, not very many to choose from the menu, beware what u want, u might find it there.
Both of us order the whole fish dish. They deboned the fish so nicely. It is very tasty! Will definitely visit again.
Zucca is always a great neighbourhood gem. It is alway great. Food is spectacular and service is top notch. Would always go back again and again. It does not disappoint. Also being Vegan they are very accommodating.
Overall excellent on all fronts- we are so lucky to have this 2 blocks from home. I would travel some distance for their food
I went with an long-time friend and we had an exceptionally wonderful meal. The food is delicious, seasonal and "fit for a foodie". I always try either the fish special or the seasonal pasta. The wine menu is extensive. And the service really makes this place special.
Fantastic whole fish!!! Mushroom fettuccine with ricotta was also outstanding!
I always look forward to dinner at Zucca - the food is delicious and the super friendly/attentive staff make fr a fantastic night out!
Everything here was delicious! Best pasta in the city! Oh my the pasta! We each ordered a pasta appetizer, and they were both scrumptious! The grilled fish was fresh and simple, and the bones were skillfully removed for us by one of the servers. Our server was knowledgeable and charming - she helped me find a wine I really liked and wrote down the name for me! Great experience.
Quick tip - we were there on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty packed. Make a reservation.
Very professional team in kitchen and service discreet and knowledgable. Italian CUISINE as opposed to "Italian food" . Satisfaction guaranteed.
Excellent as always! We stuck to the pastas as our mains this time, and they do not disappoint.
Service is superb and friendly. However the squid ink pasta is very very very salty, like fresh from the ocean water.
