    Maybe the best cooked eggs ever. Kudos to the Chef. Ultra loud group of girls at 100+ decibels in the area were a big bummer. Hope they spent & tipped well. They ran off a single, table of 3 & table of two….

    Food is always excellent! Duck gumbo and shrimp and crab risotto were amazing. Service is polite but SLOW and staff seem to be around just slow to get basic things like water or a drink order. The rustic dining room is great for a relaxing brunch!

    Cozy atmosphere, deli food and the best wine collection. I would certainly recommend it for special occasions. The only thing i was expecting when i marked the reservation as anniversary is to have at least a cup cake with a candle otherwise i would’ve done my own arrangements. Overall, it was my first time there and will definitely go back. Thanks for making our night special.

    We sat on the patio, it was quiet and peaceful. Service was excellent along with the food. We highly recommend the warm crab and shrimp dip for an appetizer, it was fantastic! The Buffalo filet was excellent but it was the special that night, I had the Antelope Lion which was fantastic, my daughter had filet which you could cut with a fork and her boyfriend had the artichoke chicken that he loved. The jalapeño bacon grips were delicious but spicy. I like things hot and they were. The whole experience took an hour. Not rushed but not a long dinning experience.

    Amazing place food was great and the server that we had was wonderful. I did notice that people who didn't have reservation got seated before us and we had a reservation but other than that it was a great experience.

    Super good food. We sat in the bar so noisier than some other spots. Leah was our waitress and she was great! I had a steak, my friend ate the duck and could not stop raving about it. My steak was as good as they get! Done perfectly to my specs.

    Special occasion…. Go to the Rainbow Lodge. Where else in Houston can one enjoy wild game such as elk, venison, and wild boar. Along with delicious steaks and seafood. They also have a tremendous array of delicious wines. My wife and I enjoyed cocktails that were delicious. Our server was an excellent host. We look forward to going again.

    Tonight our table had steak, halibut and risotto and all was prepared well. The main courses have always been great which is one reason we enjoy dining at Rainbow Lodge. However the Cesar salad was a complete failure. Extremely bland and boring like from a cafeteria; limp lettuce on a plate. The salad game needs mass improvement and the dessert menu could be broadened. But in all we enjoyed our evening as we always do when we come here. The ambiance is fantastic and there is a nice wine menu.

    Food and waitstaff were excellent. Food had no gamey flavor and was very tender. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable of ingredients and suggestions. Prices were reasonable. Great dinner for our anniversary celebration!

    Very nice. Great meal and great service from Nancy. Was a little disappointed at some of the other patrons attire - since when is a dirty T-shirt and flip flops appropriate in the dining room of a fine restaurant? Perhaps the Lodge should enforcing a level of attire for dinner time. Otherwise it was great.

    Our first time here. The atmosphere is lovely and it’s hard to believe you are right in the middle of the city. The food and service were excellent, and we enjoyed trying all the game meats.

    We were there for brunch and it was fabulous. I had the chicken fried venison. Perfection. Not too much breading and the gravy was spot on! My friend had the duck chilaquiles. She raved about the flavor and was impressed by how much duck was in the dish. We also had the pistachio and venison breakfast sausage. Absolutely amazing. We also split the stone fruit cobbler. Cherries and plums…not too sweet. The ice cream….bourbon pecan caramel ice cream on the side. I could’ve eaten a gallon of it. Best ice cream I’ve had in a very long time.

    The 2 couples that sat next to us were extremely loud. Dinner was great. My husband had the Nilgai with mashed potatoes (because he doesn’t care for grits) and they were warm and didn’t look too fresh. I ordered the shrimp and blue crab saffron risotto. I didn’t see any crab meat in it and it came with 2 shrimp placed on top. The dirty Martini was one of the best I’ve ever had. We split the lobster and avocado wedge salad which was great too. We finished off with dessert of the bread pudding which we finished but was definitely not the best I’ve ever had either. The waiter was attentive and good.

    As good as any review, any advertisement, a unique experience in a city BLESSED with great restaurants, you must try!!! Ask for Russell as your wait person, experienced, knowledgeable and the gold standard for any waitstaff in the city

    Great food & ambience! The service was okay. Our waitress forgot an item ordered & our lunch came as we were eating our salads, which created a bit of a rush. Dishes were not removed upon completion, & drinks were not refreshed. The food was amazing though!

    Another enjoyable evening at Rainbow Lodge. We visit a few times a year and are always delighted. The pace of our dinner is handled by our server and is perfect every time. Our meal was exceptional once again!

    A great night out celebrating our anniversary. Food is delicious, wine selection is impressive, the service is kind, friendly, professional and knowledgeable, the decor is what you would expect from a restaurant called the lodge. Honestly, the only thing I can say about this restaurant is that we had an 8:00 reservation and by 9:30, the overnight crew are already doing set up for the following day, moving tables and chairs and talking across the small room about what each other are doing. In a restaurant of this stature, you should never be made to feel like they want you to leave so they can close up for the night. My wife and I were baffled and so we hurried through dessert and left. Just an unfortunate end to an otherwise great experience.
