Very disappointed in the service! Went for our anniversary expecting a great experience instead felt like we were an inconvenience! Asked to be seated on the patio even though we reserved for inside and once out there we were pretty much forgotten! Girl who brought out our food practically threw it on the table! Had to wait 15 mins for our drinks and were not offered coffee or desert! Finally got up and went inside to ask for our bill after waiting for the waitress to come back when we finished eating! The $10 tip we left was way too much for the service we received! Will not go back or recommend!
Wonderful fresh asparagus soup with accompanying savory muffin, gravlax, grilled haloumi salad, and seared ling cod dishes. Tried their riesling reserve with it-perfect for a hot June evening--enjoyed their bread--they add a few salt flakes to the butter. Really nice dinner. Informal setting.
The worst service , seemed like the guy was bothered for any questions that we asked .
The food was delicious! Sadly, there was a large group seated right beside us who were extremely loud. It wasn’t relaxing having to make such an effort to hear our friends as they were drowned out by the loud counterparts. Maybe large groups could be seated in a corner away from small tables looking for good conversation with their meal. For the price you pay, it would be nice to enjoy one another’s company.
Came here last nite with some friends from Burlington who had never been here. While we have been here several times prior and the food and ambience good, we were very disappointed that the menu hadn’t changed much ( was there a year ago) , there were no specials items featured and the value of certain items was definitely not worth it. I gave value a poor rating because the 11$ dessert I had was ridiculous for what it was priced at. I ordered the swiss almond roll , and while I didn’t expect something huge , what came out was 2 slices ( not even an inch thick each, I am NOT kidding you) of what was the size of a Little Debbie Swiss roll. On the plate too was a small handful of slivered almonds , another small handful of sliced strawberries and 2 melon ball scoops of strawberry sorbet. In hindsight I should have sent it back because it was not worth 11$ at all. I’ve had much more substantial desserts for less money at higher end restaurants. I totally get this is a somewhat upscale place and good chefs , artisanal food etc, but if you are going to serve this the price point should be like 7$ ( and even that would be questionable for the size.
Perhaps because it was the end of the night you could maybe assume they only had a little end piece of the Swiss roll and decided to serve it anyways when I ordered it , but I noticed that our server ( who had asked every time how are food was ) didn’t ask us how it was. Had she I wouldn’t have said something and I should have. So my fault for leaving it til now but I can help another person avoid the same disappointment I had , then this post was helpful!
Ps. I wish I had taken a photo of it , it was that ridiculous ! Makes me question whether I would return there again with guests. Even they were floored at the size of it considering the price.
Excellent evening for dinner with friends.
Ravine was warm and inviting, and a lovely outdoor setting.
The food was amazing, well presented. The wine was perfect .
We will definitely return.
Great to sit outside for lovely lunch by the vineyard
I chose the restaurant because of the view but were told we could not get the window seat as requested in my online reservation. All of the window tables remained empty for the duration of our lunch. I should have been informed when the reservation was confirmed.
Always a good experience at Ravine.
Wonderful food and service. It’s our fave
Excellent food, service, ambiance.
Cons - 1 page menu. Very limited options. Expensive. Dinner for 2 $200.
An all round good dining experience.
The food was fantastic - better than we could have imagined. Our server was great and very knowledgeable regarding the menu and wine list.
Been going here for years. Always been satisfied. Food is excellent, service great and nice location. Had pork chop....amazing. Try the feta and beet salad, soooo goood.
Absolutely breathtaking venue and incredibly delicious food, not to mention the wine. Cannot wait to return.
Service was great and food and drinks were delicious (highly recommend the cod!!!)...up until the desert. We were THOROUGHLY dissapointed with the desert. We ordered the Swiss Rolls. There were 2 slices of the roll. Each slice was approx 5 cm in diameter and about 1 centimeter thick, with about 2 teaspoons of sorbet on the side, and a couple sliced up strawberries. The rolls tasted like they had been left in the freezer too long...and it was $11. So, it was a rather disappointing end to an otherwise delightful evening.
We started with the cheese tray and charcuterie board. Both were excellent. Each of the 5 entrees came out perfectly and we were all quite happy with our meals. As usual the service was out standing. The total for The 5 of us with a bottle of wine and tip was about $300. Decent value in my estimation. The Ravine has long been and continues to be a favourite .
Service is great but food value was very poor. very nice atmosphere.
The atmosphere was great. We had made reservations on OpenTable and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. The waitress we had was very enjoyable and was very attentive to our needs. The food arrived quickly and tasted great. I had the Ravine Burger and my spouse had the Asparagus Soup. We shared the dessert and it was a great way to finish the meal. Definitely go back again.
What a beautiful dinner! The view, the food & service was exceptional! We will be back! We already told our friends to come.
Although we found the menu limited we did enjoy our selections. Thank you to our waitress. She was awesone!
We had a wonderful experience at The Ravine Vineyard. It was a perfect day and the property is exquisite. The menu isn't extensive, but the choices are good and the food we had was exceptional. Most of the produce is grown on the property and it was reflected in the freshness of the taste. Portion sizes are good - not too much on the plate, but a satisfying amount. The presentation was equally good and the service was terrific. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with our selections. My husband is a Celiac and there were multiple options as well as a willingness to adjust any items on the menu to suit his needs.
The wine recommendations were spot on and we brought half of our delicious bottle home with us. I will absolutely return and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a nice restaurant in Niagara on the Lake.
Very interesting menu with locally sourced products. The food was very tasty and enjoyed by all. I would recommend this as a must visit restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Our favorite restaurant in Niagara on Lake and St. Davids.
I found it to be rather pricey. Lunch for 2 with 1 glass of wine each $142.00. It was very good put pricey.
The asparagus soup was bland. Not seasoned well. Food otherwise was good but small portions and expensive as was the wine.
It was good
Have gone to Ravine every year with our friends from Australia. It's something they look forward to when they visit Ontario.
Truthfully my husband and I love it as well. The food is excellent and the service is on par.
Must try the burger you won't regret it!
Really enjoyed our lunch. Had the cod which was excellent. The wine pairing was great as well. A nice casually appealing place.
We booked this restaurant for a lunch during the long weekend since we have been to this restaurant one time before. The service was fine. However, we were so disappointed about the food. The food was cold when arriving at the table, so the pork chop we ordered was tough like a stone, and caused one of my friend serious stomach afternoon. I would not go back to this restaurant at all and will not recommend to any of my friend.
Very nice evening with a server really dedicated to excellence.
The food was great and the Canerner Franc wine was really good.
Ravine always always always comes through w excellence and cheer
The food was nice and our server Tara was very lovely. However, our overall experience was unsatisfactory for a few reasons. We made a reservation for Mother's Day, and already a few days in advance the only time available for a table of four was 7:30pm. This was understandable, as we figured this would be a popular day. The day before our reservation we called and asked to add one more person, since we wanted our grandmother to join us. We were told that they could not accommodate any changes, since they were "fully booked all evening." When we arrived at 7:30 there were only a few tables occupied, with many available. We were sat at a table that was against two walls and away from the window. There were two tables for four available by the windows overlooking the vineyards, but we assumed they were reserved for later seatings so we didn't ask to be moved. We anticipated that the restaurant would fill up while we were there, since they said we couldn't add a single person to our reservation due to being completely booked. There were four tables seated inside including ours the entire evening. The whole restaurant stayed empty until we left at 9pm. We were extremely unhappy that we could not bring our grandmother along even though there was more than plenty of room for her. It tarnished our entire experience and made us upset with the overall quality of our evening.
Server was nice but slow. She kept disappearing. Small menu with limited selection.
Great as always.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the vineyard restaurant. Both the goat cheese and beet salad and mixed greens salads were fresh and delicious. Beef ribs were cooked to perfection and the desserts were all flavorful. Great service and the ambience was just right; intimate with a view of the vineyard. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, warm and cozy ambience, delicious food.
Good place for lunch. Good service but very slow.
The food was wonderful and everyone so friendly. Beautiful setting.
