The original Reata Restaurant located in the scenic Davis Mountains of west Texas offers the same fine dining and Legendary Texas Cuisine you can find at the Fort Worth location.     I have eaten at Reata before and had a fine meal. This was the worst of my experiences there. Slow / none existent service, cold weird bread, not sure what they actually served as 'butter' to go with the bread. over cooked meat, etc. There was really nothing good about this particular meal. And it is very pricey. Won't be going back there anytime soon. Sad.

    We have eaten all over the world and this Reata is by far our favorite place to eat for an evening out. We do not live in Alpine. We feel it is worth the drive!

    We made reservations and they told us to wait outside and they’d call us but they didn’t. We were seated and the waitress came quickly. It took quite a while for the meal to come. I had steak tacos with tomato cream sauce and it was very good. However the beans and rice that accompanied it were bland. My friend ordered pecan pie and it was burned. They did replace it quickly. The restrooms were not sufficient for the number of patrons. I probably would not go back.

    The food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. Our waiter was very attentive, and also very pleasant to deal with. Would highly recommend the Reata if you're dining in Alpine.

    I always love the Reata, and this time was no exception. The food was very good, as always, (the jalapeno cilantro soup is superb) and wonderful cheerful service by the waitress. I just wish yo would be open for lunch again.

    Was looking forward to eating here since we love the Reata in FW… the food was good.. but we waited 20 minutes for our drinks.. 1 hour for our food.. after seeing people come in after us and leave with eating their meal… finally asked about our food.. the waitress seemed overwhelmed.. but when she asked us about everything.. we told her what we saw and our food.. she told us we had to waited cause we ordered salad and soup first… by then .. we were over it.. did not argue .. just paid and left.. disappointed in whole experience..

    I give Reata high praises first of all for the attractive building front nestled into the fabric “Old Downtown Alpine”. The quaint dining room with the stained woods was very comfortable. Second of all praises for wide variety of menu items and authenticity of their food. Very unique and incredibly delicious, all my choices from the menu were very tasty a presented well. And last but not least, I sat at the counter and received great service from Nicole-bartender. Very attentive to all at the counter and she made sure the courses were brought out in order per my preference. A very pleasant dinner experience that I would recommend to all.

    We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The tamale appetizer was fantastic, and for entrees we had salmon, chicken fried steak, and the CF burger - all generous portions, served at appropriate temperatures, and tasty! We were so full, but of course unable to pass up dessert, so we shared an apple crisp that was delicious. I’d heard such good things about Reata and it did not disappoint!

    Reata in Alpine never disappoints. The food id exceptional and the cocktails are top notch. Each trip to Alpine includes dinner at Reata! Been coming from Austin for 10 plus years!

    We had a wonderful experience at Reata! The drinks are perfect, the food is amazing, and Lorrie (our waitress) was very busy and still had the upmost attention to all of her tables. She has the sweetest attitude and a very cheerful disposition. Took care of all of our needs and we will definitely be back! Also, with the quality and deliciousness of our food and drinks we expected our bill to be a lot more, but it was very well priced. Thank you Reata’s!!

    food was warm when it arrived , soup was cold. Server did take the soup off the bill. Server seemed to have disappeared for some time when we were ready for the bill. Think we will give it another chance when in the area since the on-line ratings were high. May have caught it on an off night.

    They were overwhelmed and I couldn’t get but 1 drink. The cheese enchiladas were burnt. However the carne asada was great under. I asked for some salsa to mask the burnt cheese and it got there as we we’re done. However my 2nd drink didn’t make it ever. Onion rings were terrible because the guy cutting the onions left the tuff outer part on them. Very disappointing

    My favorite restaurant in the Trans Pecos! The Tenderloin Tamales are a must and the Calf Fries were a treat. In fact you could do pretty well just ordering the Starters here. Oh, and they make an excellent margarita as well!

    We go to the Ft. Worth location quite often and love it. The service is amazing and the food is incredible. This location was terrible. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizers. The descriptions of the food did not match what came out of the kitchen. They’re using subpar meat. It was supposed to be tenderloin tamales and it came with ground meat. Way overpriced for the quality and portion size of what we received. Incredibly disappointing. The only positive was their margaritas. I will never go back to this location.

    A very good place to eat when visiting Alpine. Service is good, friendly, and accommodating. Menu has lots of options. Not a complaint...but, staff could use a little "polishing". I highly recommend the restaurant.

    We are in the Fort Davis–Alpine area on a somewhat regular basis and have wanted to try Reata for some time now. We were finally able to align our schedule this last trip and were simply amazed at the quality of the food and the exceptional service. Reata could easily hold its own, if not surpass, restaurants in much larger metropolitan areas. The Carne Asada Topped with Reata’s Cheese Enchilada was outstanding (cooked to a perfect rare) and the wine excellent. Our server, Joseph, was very friendly and took excellent care of us. This was a five-star trifecta of food, wine, and service. In the future, we will build our trip schedule so as to include dinner at Reata.

    As usual, the food and wine were wonderful. I had the Southwest Chicken Enchiladas and would highly recommend that dish! Also creme brulee and a California Cabernet. Service is always the best. All in all, a nice dinner.
