Red Crown Ratings and Reviews
Great atmosphere, service and food. We will definitely be back!
Food was ok ordered the pretzel appetizer and pretzels were ice cold. Didn't make a big deal about it . I ordered baby back ribs and they came out just like they came out of the freezer. I sent those back and they warmed them but by then my wife was almost done with her brisket which also came out luke warm. Sides were all great and it's a cool place but kitchen needs some help
Service was not great. Kept having to remind waiter about everything. Ribs were very tough. Other bbq items just ok. Sides were very good though. Tables are very close together and small.
Good food service was not the greatest.
Red Crown is my favorite restaurant in the Pointes. The food is always delicious and it's a fun atmosphere. Hands down, best mac and cheese anywhere!
My mom and I came here after she saw a food story on Fox 2 highlighting your "Shrimp and Grits". I am African American and I have grown up on southern cuisine. You list this under "Southern" fare, however you served us COLD, cocktail shrimp on top of a really strange concoction of grits and red sauce. It looked and smelled disgusting. It was literally cocktail shrimp - w/ one lone shrimp with a single char mark as if it was attempted to be grilled. We obviously complained to our server who offered us a new meal. The server was clueless, however the manager agreed it was not cooked properly. Only because we were starving and already there; we both ordered new meals. I honestly think you all need to remove this from the menu - it is an embarrassing attempt at southern cuisine. Further, the Det News was also there covering a story and asked our opinion and I was honest stating that the beer, muffins, chili and Burger I ordered all more than made up for the awful "Shrimp & Grits", boasted as your specialty dish.
Our server was great! She went the extra mile to accommodate our grandson. Food was delicious. Will definitely eat here again.
This is a nice restaurant with a little bit for everyone. We were celebrating a family member's success in a choir performance, which included a few seniors. Everyone enjoyed it and mentioned that they would like to return.
I have not had a bad or even marginal experience yet! Keep up the great work and great food!
Nice and not too busy. Service was a little slow, but not terrible.
Food has been better in the past. Brisket was too tough.
Great service. Everyone enjoyed meal. 4 different dishes. Great desserts. Only problem was it was very cold near glass doors.
Have eaten here few times in the past. Food and service has gone downhill over past year. Apparently others also agree. We used to come here for lunch and it would be packed. This time, only 2 other tables were occupied.
Very much enjoyed our meal. It is a bit crowded with small tables, but love the ambiance and the food otherwise.
All 4 of us was not happy with the food. Didn't like Bean burger or the brussell sprouts, the other person did not like his mashed potatoes(no taste), perch sandwhich was blaugh. Fried pickles were not good. Wings were good. Soups were just alright. Need to work on taste of food.
Great food. Wonderful service. Awesome bar menu.
The neighborhood is adorable. The restaurant is so unique and clean. We throughly enjoyed our evening from the food to the setting everything was perfect!
Great food, great atmop
Cable wasn't working no college football!
Great food and fast service!
Good Red Crown 1/2# burgers. 2 person BBQ Sampler was adequate but nothing to write home about. Garlic Aoli didn't excite us. Restaurant was not crowded. Service was OK - most people were outside on the nice patio - we opted to eat indoors. Had to chase down waiter to provide dinner plates / silverware for the sampler tray. For a meal that exceeded $22 per person before tip, there was no WOW factor. Will return but there's no rush.
We made reservations and were sat down right away. We selected the Southern Sampler for 2, so that we could try everything. We weren't in a hurry, but our food took a long time to come out, and when it finally arrived, it was all cold. Our server quickly took care of the issues with her manager, who replaced everything quickly. We enjoyed our time having drinks on the patio and liked the location, but the food was just okay.
Friendly service and knowledgeable staff. We opted for the $20 bottomless mimosas, and for our meals, the chicken and waffles and the Monte Cristo waffles for brunch! Everything was amazing! The mimosas were "heavy" on the champagne and quite delicious! Such a cute place!
Had a,blast great food
We went Red Crown because for its ability to satisfy all range of tastes and ages. It did not disappoint. The barbecue was lovely, we had three different types . The charcuterie board was perfect before, satisfing everyone with its varied fare. We were seated in the bar area which worked wonderfully . We had our own little corner . My 85 year old father was able to hear , which was quite a feat. Great waitstaff, great time had by all!
Unfortunately, the food was of very poor quality. We ordered the southern combo meat platter for 2, and salmon platter. Both were quite upsetting in terms of quality. The ribs were overcooked and dry. The corn bread was mass produced nuggets and very dry. The salmon platter was just generally unpleasant tasting and poorly presented. We were initially given incorrect drinks. The neighbouring table to us was also quite verbal about how poor quality their food was as well.
You get what you pay for. Pleasant surroundings, moderately priced food, and ok service (aside from the lipstick on my water glass). Decent neighborhood dining experience, but I wouldn't write home about it. Good value for the money.
We were seated outside, it was delightful.
We left without eating we were given a table that was too small jammed against a wall right next to the kitchen when we asked for another table were only offered a high top in the bar & told by the hostess we have lots of reservations tonight (as if we didn't have reservations) lots of tables were empty & a party of 2 that arrived after this conversation was given a very nice table I will never go back
Wonderful food and beer. We will certainly return.
Have been here a handful of times. Would come more often but service/wait staff is not tuned in to customer service.
Nice. A little expensive - $200 bill for 6 people (2 kids). Good food and interesting atmosphere.
My food and cocktail was great! It wasnt crowded but busy. Service was cool too!
It was very busy when we arrived for a 7:30 p.m reservation. Food was skimpy, service was sporadic. This place does not offer a small side salad. Cole slaw serving was about two tablespoons. Initially, plate was dirty.
Not impressed for the price.
The tables in the dining room are too close together. The entrees are overpriced for the size. Kids menu is good almost no reasonable priced choices for my teenage daughter. Server (Madi) was excellent.
Brunch was great. Lovely patio with soft acoustic music. Great service.
Great as usual!!
Neat spot to grab a bite or take the family. The barbecue was amazing and loved the Mac & cheese. Nick the bartender was super accommodating. Stayed with him and had dinner at the bar.
We go to Red Crown often because we like it and we live within walking distance. Great food, great cocktails and excellent service. The BBQ is excellent asd are the sides. Even the salads are great, coming from a carnivore, that's high praise.
The food is just OK, used to be better. Sat outside and that was the best part of the experience.
