Reds Wine Tavern Ratings and Reviews
I had dinner with my sisters on a Saturday evening. It was a very nice atmosphere, not too loud. Food was great and our server was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions - even though he seemed slightly unfamiliar with the menu at times, he was able to find the answers for us. It was nice to have the prix fixe menu in addition to the regular offerings (our group ordered off of both). The food was all very tasty and nice portion sizes.
My steak was under cooked then recooked and a little tough. But everything else was excellent we had Caesar salad and Ahi tuna tostadas then Tandoori chicken salad, Masala butter chicken bowl and ravioli and garlic shrimp. The service was great and the wine and cocktail list was very nice.
Food was amazing, server was inattentive. Could have had another glass of wine but server was too busy to check in with us
Food and service were excellent as always. I am amazed at how quickly the food comes out of the kitchen - the reward - I feel that I have the time to eat it.
I personally wish that something could be done to reduce the noise reflected off the ceiling.
This restaurant is a solid and consistent performer and very convenient for a business lunch in downtown Toronto.
Great deal on Sparkling wine on Tuesdays - perfect destination for a girls night out.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, good location.
Noisy, overpriced, they screwed up on the reso and really never did recover. Food was ok. Waitress ok. It is a good location but hardly worth the expense.
Superb meal and service. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was a perfect setting to celebrate our special occasion!
A litttle too loud for comfortable converstion. A little expensive - $12 for an irish Coffee?! A nice ambience, a classy place, good lighting. My biggest issue was the volume of the music. Turn it down a few notches 🙂
We didn’t try the food but were forced to rate it, hence the 3/5 stars.
Reds has the Best chicken tacos! And the gin cocktails are totally worth it!
Wasn't too busy being a Saturday night in the financial district. We enjoyed the comfy chairs, seats by the window and phenomenal dinner. We especially enjoyed the Caesar salad, wild mushroom soup and apple pie with cheddar. The food arrived hot which you don't always get at other places! Thanks for a nice dinner out.
Many-time visitor to Reds Adelaide. Always amazed about how noisy it gets when full. Suggest one or two more vegetarian options on the menu. However, the vanilla ice cream dessert was exceptional.
Great, lively atmosphere. Love the decor. Food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the seared ahi tuna, beet and goat cheese salad!
Much too loud for a downtown bar/restaurant that was half empty. I'm not really sure what vibe they are going for in there on a Friday evening but very loud music in a half empty establishment is far below typical Toronto standards. I will not return. Service was decent and the drinks were pretty good but pricey for the overall experience. If this restaurant wasn't downtown but in another city it would be hopping (possibly). In Toronto, with all the choice we have I would expect more. I don't think it was bad but just below average for the city.
Good atmosphere! Good food. Live DJ on Friday night
Great time! Drinks were good, apps were great!
They were apparently short staffed and so our drinks order took a very long time to arrive -- and we only got the drinks a few minutes before our entrees in fact, which wasn't ideal. The cocktails were lovely (almost worth the wait...) and most of the food was tasty and well cooked. The fries however were lukewarm and overdone which was also disappointing.
My Cobb salad was excellent, service was prompt and courteous... the wine was good, if a bit expensive ...and the espresso after was the perfect finishing touch ...nice ambiance as well ...nothing not to like
Really enjoyed my visit to the restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was also great! Will definitely visit again.
Overall the dining experience was very good. Service was attentive and courteous. The Thai wrap appetizer had a nice spice to it. Both diners enjoyed a well cooked steak with garden vegetables and shared a bottle of wine.
You're in the financial district . You should expect a fairly sterile service and food that's good but not great and that's Red's in a nutshell. The service on this evening was fairly poor however.
Food is good and service is friendly. I made reservations for Saturday night but probably didn't need to as it was fairly quiet. Just a few tables with large parties. We arrived early and were seated right away.
The aircon was not working as a start and no one knew why, but that happens. at the end of the night all the card machines were not working, and no one knew why. Not what you expect from a place charging 20 bucks for a glass of wine.
Food: Got the cobb salad with shrimp. It was delicious! When reading the description I anticipated it to be like an ordinary cobb salad but this was not. The combination of all the ingredients (sans the blue cheese which I opted out of for cheddar) worked so well together. The added soft-boiled egg was a good touch to it.
Service: Terrible. It took about 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. Finally the busser came by and set our table, gave us water, and menus. The server came by to acknowledge about another 20 minutes after that to which we were ready to order (after 40 minutes you should know what you want). Our food came and was brought by the runner but not once during our meal did the server come by and ask us if everything was fine. I really wanted to tip her 10% (and that was being nice).
Ambience: Cool ambience. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. We sat outside since it was a nice night. Their was a wall that separated the outdoor seating from the side walk but it was still noisy (a good noisy) enough where you felt like you were still in the city.
As always, Reds delivered great food and top notch service. One of my go-to restaurants!
Food was unique and delicious
Noise level was high
I've been coming to Reds since it opened. It is a good spot and reliable for food, service and ambiance. Usually. This past visit it was exceptionally noisy, especially the music. We went upstairs, but the music blasted up there from the lower bar area. It did seem to quiet down later to the point where my friend and I could catch up.
I'm putting the noise down to the fact that it was Film Festival weekend, and hoping that it isn't a permanent change.
Nice place, decent service, nice view, the food was excellent. Had the curry of the day.
Service was great. Unfortunately, the steak was the worst I ever had. Expected the food to be if higher quality. Was extremely disappointed and won't be returning.
Great meal with excellent service
Server was always at the table anytime a plate was emptied to take it away
Meals came out fast and were hot when they got to us
Great location for a business lunch
The food was good but the noise level was so high it was difficult to enjoy. If the weather were better we would have sat outside.
I had the tomato fennel soup which was light and tasty then the Tuna Tostadas which were delicious. My husband had the tuna and beer salad and wild mushroom soup and he loved it. Great dinner before concert!
I really appreciated our server, friendly, professional and helpful. I liked my curry spicy and tasty. Busy lunch crowd but service very efficient. Good atmosphere and decor. Great lunch place!
2nd time @ RED's for business lunch and most likely the last time. Service is extremely slow .. we arrived at 12 noon, and waited 1/2 hour for waiter to take our order ( appears he forgot about us). Had to flag someone else.. ordered salads ( to get the order in faster) however took another 40 minutes to get served. Needless to say it was embarasing ,as it was I who recomended your restaurant to my client ... wont do it again... sorry .. I have given you a second chance.
My salad is a bit too oily but generally the food is good
