Good appetizers music too loud
Our appetizer did not arrive till we reminded the waitress. We had to wait for our food.
Food was good however my salmon Kale salad was customized and it had 3 mistakes with it. I still enjoyed it and the waiter felt bad so I wasn’t charged. I would come back again!
great service and nice ambiance. Salad was awesome and the server mentioned everything is made fresh.
Excellent burger! Good wine list with some bottles not outrageously priced. Service was good with pleasant wait staff.
The food was not bad, do not take the tacos. The staff are very friendly and the chicken wings are so delicious.
This was my second visit to Reds. My cousin was visiting from out of province and I wanted to take her somewhere slightly different and not overly pricey. Reds fit the bill. I would prefer calamari grilled not fried from a health perspective but non the less it was still very enjoyable. Our waiter was good. Overall, my cousin and I both enjoyed ourselves.
Service was good until near the end when it slowed right down. We ended up leaving some of our dessert and coffee on the table. We were almost late for the theatre despite being in the restaurant over 2 hrs before the show. My steak was nice but under cooked. I asked for m rare and it was rare.
Butter chicken and chicken tinga tacos were delicious
Great restaurant and great food. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food.
Had a very nice meal. We had a party of six which changed to 7 and they were very accommodating we were a bit of a disorganized group. Three of us had the tacos they were excellent! Everyone enjoyed the meals they had which were butter chicken and a hamburger. Two of us had dessert the chocolate cake and the butter tarts both excellent. Will definitely go back
We picked this restaurant based primarily on location, as it was close to our hotel and it was raining so we didn’t want to go far. We definitely stumbled into a gem. The service (Benjamin B.) was magnificent. The drink list and quality of the cocktails and wine was top notch. As a gin drinker, I’ve never seen a better list and such a diverse selection of gin-based cocktails. I also like any place that offers a 9oz wine pour as an option. Both of our steaks were properly prepared and the sides were well portioned. The only downgrade on the food is for the appetizer selection. They’re listed as “small plates” and the variety is okay but none of the options seemed to compliment the menu choices as a starter. We had the cheese plate off the dessert menu as a starter and it would make a great addition to the small plates menu with a slightly modified selection and pairing to skew it savory rather than sweet. Easily done! I got the apple pie to go and it was wonderful - the crust, the apples, the spice - all perfect. The night we were in there were 2 very large events and we were seated in the area with the events, so the restaurant noise level was boisterous. I think on a normal night it would be more pleasant. We were in a corner and could talk in a normal voice but there was a high din of background noise. Physically, the place is very nicely decorated and the seating was comfortable. I would go back if I’m ever in Toronto again.
We were hoping for a nice quiet dinner however there was a DJ and guests so loud we could barely hear one another across the table. The food was delicious and we would go back but would make sure there would be no DJ before returning.
REDS is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto (both locations) I took my husband and a visiting friend for dinner there tonight.
Everything was great except their air conditioning wasn’t working, and tonight happened to be one of the hottest evenings this summer; so it wasn’t as pleasant as it could have been.
Ten years ago, when my office building was a block from Reds, my colleagues and I had lunch here religiously and we frequently celebrated special occasion dinners here. The food was fantastic and the whole dining experience and wine pairings were marvellous. Sadly the menu selection and quality of food has turned into mediocre pub food.
Great patio. Feels like you are at a cottage. Well done.
The half price bubbles were fantastic but we were a little upset to learn our waiter said the aioli's for the yam fries were vegan then when he brought out the fries, told us they had egg and we had to have them with ketchup....probably should have told us before so we could change our order....also very limited vegan options for the record
The food quality was awful and didn't worth at all.
Calamari was a touch cold. Had to ask for food menus.
The Argentinian menu was small but sublime. We enjoyed sharing the octopus to start and loved our halibut and sirloin mains. The cocktails were very clever and unique too.
It’s nice to see specials like this at Reds which we frequent. It’s refreshjng.
I was there with my 3 month old and his stroller and the staff were great with helping me carry him upstairs. As a new mom, accessibility is an important factor to enjoying the city and I’m glad Reds was able to accommodate.
accomodated my dietary restrictions with enjoyable food
We came for the special Argentinian inspired menu and were disappointed. They were out of pisco even though its' featured in several cocktails on the special menu. They kindly offered to sub in another kind of liquor, which was lovely of them, however my drink then arrived separately from my partner's drink and well after the appetizers had come and gone! we were there very early and the restaurant was nowhere near full. Not sure why my cocktail had to take so long! This setup a chain reaction where she didn't bring our wine until after we were halfway through our mains, and now we're there trying to finish a whole bottle of wine after we're done eating. None of the food resembled anything we ever ate on our trip to Argentina, (even basic things like the chimichurri were all wrong), although we enjoyed reminiscing anyway. We were disappointed that there wasn't any dessert as part of the Argentinian inspired menu since Dulce de Leche was one of my favourites and is pretty darn easy to add to something to make it "Argentinian". Also why serve Mexican Corn as the side dish? And do the Padron Peppers need to be in EVERY dish? Our server was friendly, but inexperienced. All in all it was fine but for the price we paid we would usually expect a bit more polish! Maybe this place is fine for your quick business lunch but perhaps stay away if you're looking for a nicer dinner.
Had a great experience overall, amazing food and service was good as well. Would return in a heartbeat!
My Ahi Tuna came well done - server offered to take it back but by the time we caught her attention my friends were half way through their meal and had to return to work by 1:00. Cappuccino’s were ordered, one no cinnamon and very hot, 2 decaf Cappuccino’s. All came with no cinnamon and the very hot one was tepid at best, two were remade but came back only marginally warmer than the original.
Your curry special was "ok" The beef/lamb balls in Madras was ok, but the rice was terrible. Never seen spinach stirred into Basmati rice before and the flavor took over the dish. Consequently I only at 1/2 of my very costly lunch.
The chick peas were wonderful and could have used way more of those. Usually the curry lunch special is very good, but this time missed the mark BIG TIME
Sever was non-existent throughout the night. Food was really good!
It was good, but had a glass for my pop that was taken from the dirty dishwasher, in error. When the waitress brought my bill she apologized and told me what happened. Pretty gross
Gin Lane is certainly a bespoke way to get an excellent Gin and Tonic. Service was a little haphazard to start but improved quickly, food quality was excellent. Certainly worth the visit.
We had been to Reds before and I decided to book it for my wife's birthday supper. The restaurant was not very full and our initial wait staff appeared to want to be somewhere else rather than serving us. Mid-way through our evening he disappeared and another staff member took over. She was very engaging and attentive and we appreciated the recognition. The food was not as spectacular as we had recalled and if this is an indication in decline, we certainly will not be going to this restaurant again. Disappointing.
We all had a wonderful time!
We usually just stuff our faces with the wonderful appetizers and then skip to dessert. Excellent butter tarts and apple pie!
Overall, not impressed with the food. We tried 4 nibbles and none were memorable. $20 for the lobster guacamole and not very tasty. Go elsewhwere for a lobster roll for that price and likely much more lobster. Likely won't be going back.
Waitress brought wrong food and wrong bill, not an ideal experience.
A bit pricy for an afternoon lunch with friends but overall great food, service, and ambiance.
Nice that they offer a Patio Party to sample new menu items but not a very inclusive menu. NOTHING on the menu for Vegetarians and even the waitstaff was disappointed with the offerings. Friendly staff greeted at the door and waitress was quite pleasant.
The dishes contain items such as grains that are not listed in the menu so you cannot trust that what you think you ordered is the dish you will get. Who puts Quinoa in a Cobb Salad in the first place, but if you are going to put it in the Cobb Salad, then why isn't it listed in the 7 ingredients you say are in the salad in your menu? When I saw the Quinoa in the dish, I asked the server if it was supposed to come in there because I couldn't remember it in the menu and the server said yes. Got to a computer, checked the menu and sure enough it is not there. When I called the restaurant to complain about the server, the answer I got was that it was not the server but a flaw in their menu. I will say that is a flaw - you put a grain in your dish that isn't listed there. I will dine elsewhere from now on.
We had just gotten into town and went looking for a place in the Entertainment district to grab a bite. We picked Reds and were so glad we did. Husband had the burger, loved it, and I had the Harvest Bowl and added grilled chicken to, it was absolutely yummy! Felicity was our server and a shout out to her as well! Great way to have started our trip in Toronto!
I enjoyed the mean and the ambiance as always. It was good choice and the money was well spent.
Met some friends here and sat on the patio. Was quiet for a Saturday night - but we didn't mind. Food was good and the drinks were tasty. Would definitely recommend.
My experience was great. I was there for a friend’s birthday celebration. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine selections. She was attentive, friendly and made sure my friends and I had a great evening. The food was good, music was just right and overall a great place to be.
