The waitress told us while seating, “No rush but because it’s Dine Out, you’ll need to be out by 90 minutes from now.” That felt a bit rushed to me! The no one took our drink order for at least 10 minutes but by the time the 90 minutes were up the place was half empty anyway. Food was mediocre and low value even at Dine Out prices. Nice ambiance, go for a drink
I came here to eat for Dine Out Vancouver tonight and everything about the food and ambiance was a very enjoyable experience. My 1/5 star overall rating stems from the service I received at Reflections. It was a rainy Vancouver night as usual, so I came in with my umbrella. Let me make it clear that I never leave my umbrella in the common buckets that stores/restaurants often have as I am always concerned that someone may mistake my umbrella for theirs. The umbrella I use contains a lot of sentimental value to me. The hostess offered to take my umbrella for me and I saw that they kept the umbrellas behind the hostess table for safe keeping. Since it is an upscale restaurant I decided to entrust them with my umbrella under the assumption that they would tag the umbrella and associate it with our table. At the end of the night we paid up and asked the hostess for our umbrella. They could not find our umbrella and it was clear that they had accidentally given our umbrella to someone else. I am fairly frustrated at this event as it completely ruined my entire night. This umbrella is not replaceable and it contains a lot of sentimental value. While I understand that it is just an umbrella, I had expected much better service and standards from a place like Reflections. While they did offer me hotel umbrellas in replacement, this does not replace the original umbrella that they had willingly given to another customer.
The food on the other hand was very good. I had the beef short ribs for my main entree and the beef was very tender. For dessert, the Dine Out menu came with a dessert board to share between two people which included panna cotta, macarons (passion fruit and vanilla) and almond brittle. My favourite dessert out of the 3 was the panna cotta. The passion fruit macaron I could have done without.
Overall, my experience is a pretty niche/one off experience (I would hope) it just really put a damper on my night, and what would have been a 5/5 review.
Great restaurant. Only pit fall was their cocktail menu was absurdly priced. $25 is ridiculous for any single drink. Otherwise great food and atmosphere.
We had a wonderful evening as we were celebrating a birthday. The food was good & it was a beautiful ambience. Would love to visit again..
The food was delicious but the prices for drinks were quite high.
Told Waiter was for two birthdays- he didn’t hear I guess, no dessert treat for bdays, beer very expensive- food was very tasty- worked at hotel for six years
Tap water was unfiltered, portion size too small. Chemical storage/ cleaning products visible in bathroom
The food was very mediocre. But the ambience is good. Probably will come back for drinks.
Food was not the best part, quite expensive for average food.
It was our first time at Reflections. The servers & hostesses were outstanding, they always say hi and very attentive. The ambience was great, we loved the setting. Then there's the food. We had the vancouver dine-out menu. The charcuterie appetizer was good, but the main rib steak that I got tasted burnt. It was tender but it had a bitter after taste. I was very disappointed I just didn't have the energy to tell the server as the restaurant's already closing & I didn't want to bother them anymore. I think the sauce was burnt & maybe the outside of the meat too. I am not sure if it was supposed to taste like that but I never had a steak or ribs that tasted like that. The $14 virgin cocktail (most expensive virgin cocktail I had) was meh. It tasted like instant lemonade that was left out for 3 days. :( I was so excited to eat there but now I am scared to come back because of this experience.
Food was nice but we were sat right at the back outside with no heater. Hard for me to say how good the food was because we didn’t have a heater it was cold super quick. I had to wear my coat all evening and was still cold. Seemed a nice place but felt like they saw we were dine out customers and we were sat in the worst spot. Our server tried to move a heater but it didn’t help at all because it was still shared with another table. Overall this ruined our experience and for what we paid $140 for two, I don’t expect to wear my coat all evening at that price.
Came during Dine-Out Vancouver week. The food was nice but what I liked most is the restaurant's ambiance and decor during the winter. The patio is just so pretty and cozy. Will come back for sure.
Enjoyed a great dinner with friends during the DineOut Vancouver event. Food, wine and service were all excellent! Definitely would recommend.
I went here for my birthday only because of the atmosphere of the restaurant and mainly because it's the perfect place to take pictures other than that the food was average and the portions were too small for what we paid for.
Great atmosphere!!! And kept warm by heat lamps in the winter. Looks magical!
I work in the service industry, so for me to write a bad review it means something. I went to reflections for a date night with my boyfriend. I had mentioned it was a special evening as we have not seen each other in a long time. When we arrived the hostess barely looked at us, mumbled to herself and we assumed we should follow her. From that moment the night was not very special. The service was mediocre, the server seemed disinterested. She seemed to get even more disinterested after she realized we may not be spending a ton on alcohol. Regardless, if I'm getting a 20 dollar drink, I do expect some sort of service.
Very limited food choices for lunch. Fun room wow service
You are paying for the ambiance, the setting was beautiful, however drinks were truly overpriced and we would not recommend the food. Had the nachos, wouldn't order again. But the christmas theme was lovely. Would recommend just to go for a drink with a sweetheart.
Annual Christmas lunch with friend: beautiful decor, lovely just to sit and enjoy the heated patio. Menu is extremely limited at lunch: two appies, four mains, and three desserts - no gluten free pasta or breads available, portions small and just "okay". Extensive cocktail and wine list - but pricey. Was it worth it - the ambience/ decor was lovely, likely even prettier at night when all the lights glow, service was great. Would like to try it for dinner, but wouldn't return for lunch.
The Reflections Launge never disappoints. I'll gladly come back, food was awesome, service was amazing and drinks were great too.
Cost of food is over the average in downtown area. However, food quality is just ok.
The service was extremely slow. However, food was great and the ambiance was amazing.
Actually disappointed. Food was fine, if a tad pricey. There was a cocktail competition /event. Interesting people watching. However, I was here for a birthday celebration with a girlfriend, conversation was difficult. It would have been nice to have had a heads up about this event!!!! I would have chosen a different day
Everything about the food, the service and the gorgeous setting was great. I just think $14 for a 5-oz pour of Matua wine (which retails for $14.99-16.99 a bottle) is an unreasonably high mark up.
Overall I had a positive experience with staffs and manager. Presentation of the food was beautiful.
This restaurant is perfect for a summer lunch - a hidden gem with great ambience and wonderful seating arrangements. Service was excellent as was the food.
Drinks were a bit slow to come out at first. Server was friendly and drinks tasted great. Desserts were just average. Atmosphere was really nice.
I was disappointed with the egg Benedict I could not taste the truffle and the hollandais sauce it was too acidic. It was not worth the $28 price tag.
Wonderful Restaurant. A Hidden Gem. The Decor was very pleasing to the eye and comfortable. The Food was delicious We ordered the Quiche and the clubhouse, amazing. It was a sunny day, but I could see it being just as inviting on a cloudy day. They have blankets and heaters for those who tend to get cold.
Already making plans to go back
A quiet retreat in the heart of Vancouver, excellent selection of cocktails and wine, and a unique flair on traditional "share plates"
Recommend the pizzas, we had the funghi and I would go back just for that.
My first time there and I loved the ambiance, the vibe, the food and the service
Great location, fantastic summer patio. Service was excellent. 'Mushroom pizza' was Costco flatbread, Costco Parmesan and about 7 mushrooms. Very disappointing.
My chicken and soba noodles were good except there was too much sauce on the chicken. Limited menu, so nice outdoor patio for drinks and light meals. We told the waitress my husband couldn't eat carbs, and when his dish came with potatoes, they were quick to fix that and substituted the potatoes with a salad.
Restaurant phoned me about 4 times to confirm reservation and couldn't seem to get it straight. Always very polite.
Outstanding Vancouver gem centrally located in the very elegant Rosewood Hotel Georgia - a little LA and Vancouver combined - stunning cuisine and matching elegant atmosphere. HIghly recommend this chic restaurant for lunch, drinks or dinner.
Great space, however, every time I've been on a nice warm summer day it's been cold there. I'm not sure if it is the water feature? So if you're going for a nice summer patio experience ask to sit in the sun! Food was good, I would have liked more low cal options. Most of the menu items have grains, noodles, bread, potatoes, burrata etc. I ended up ordering the tuna poke and cucumber soup which was good.
Reflections is truly a hidden gem in the heart of downtown. Taking the elevator from the Hotel Georgia lobby, you are transformed to a New York feel with Vancouver vibe. Outdoor meets indoor. Formal meets casual. Perfect for post meeting drinks or pre dinner drinks or casual lunch/snack fare on a weekend. I've been in summer and fall and both were excellent. I believe they are open all year and I'll be trying the winter version as well. On cold days, the Blueberry Tea at the Hotel Georgia is an awesome choice.
Great brunch spot.
Great ambience. Excellent service. Relatively quiet despite in the heart of downtown. Plan to return another time for special occasions.
For the high-end Rosewood brand I was expecting higher quality food than what my friend and I were served (she had the grilled chicken and I had the mushroom pizza) which was sub-standard and over-priced for what it was. She commented the glaze on her chicken tasted cheap and "out of a bottle" and my pizza was dry and bland. This venue might be okay for an after-work drink but it's nothing special and we won't be back. The one compliment I will make is our server was delightful and efficient.
