Reflections - Rosewood Hotel Georgia
Saturday & Sunday: 11:00am - 11:00pm
I’ve been before and enjoyed it but on this occasion the service was substandard from the hostess to the waitress and so was food. For a high priced restaurant/ bar I expect better.
Service was perfect. Our server was friendly, attentive and funny all without being overbearing. She was excellent. Food was good. It was great to be able to order a salad and it not be field greens. The butter lettuce Cobb was excellent, the cubed chicken cooked perfectly. The guacamole was mediocre and didn’t really taste house made. Chips were great. Summer flatbread was excellent as well. My guest wanted to take her remaining flatbread home and and asked for a takeout box. The server then explained that she was required to have her sign a waiver. The server was very embarrassed to even have to ask. What an absolutely ridiculous requirement. But she brought out a one page waiver form and my guest obliged. The server indicated that this was something we might be seeing more at other restaurants but I haven’t seen it yet. It’s utter nonsense in my opinion. Otherwise, it was a lovely lunch.
The drinks and food were overpriced. However, our server was friendly and very attentive throughout our lunch. He made attempts to make up for the many deficiencies (i.e. offered extra Prosecco after I pointed out our smaller-than-usual glasses (he said they'd run out of their regular sized glasses), mentioned to the chef that both our Benny and waffle dishes were cold, took our coffees off the bill (maybe to make up for the cold food?), brought more prosecco because we had to wait a long while to settle our bill (server had to locate a manager because we were paying with gift cards) but we felt more could have been done.
Both my companion and I had a good time catching up with one another due to the beautiful setting and numerous celebrations surrounding us (fun to watch!).
We will most likely not return nor recommend Reflections to others.
I'm sorry for the negative review but it's honest.
We just moved into the Georgia Private residences so will be dining in all the restaurants lots, as they are all great here at Georgia Hotel.
Hosting a friend from Shanghai, celebrating our mutual birthdays. She was delighted.
Honestly the patio was very lack lustre. It could really use a good gardener to fix that place up.
We celebrated our engagement with a few cocktails. Our wonderful server organized free champagne. Really special end to a special day.
Service and food quality not good enough to justify prices
DJ was a bit loud otherwise beautiful setting !
Food was very overpriced for the quality. The portions were small and the food was terrible. The service was also disappointing.
This was my second shot at trying this place. Total fail. Other than the beautiful ambiance, this place has snooty and classless written all over it. I seriously felt I was surrounded by people with money and no style, and clearly no sense of value. I’m totally fine paying for ambiance. But save your time, your money (and your sense of self!), and head down to Four Seasons for at least a good drink. Fail. And the service was atrocious for a five star. Never again. Don’t bother.
Really bad food and expensive not worth it at all.
Fantastic food but weak service. Paying that much for drinks and food tge service should be better
Very small food portions and some menu items did not taste as well as they were priced
A lively after work bar /snack scene , loud , great setting , no view $$
Fantastic cocktails. Creative menu. One of the best vibes in the city.
I have had the same server multiple times now and she is amazing!
While the ambiance is very cute, and I love the space, I won't likely return to Reflections. The service was very slow and the food was sub-par. The white sangria was pretty good, but my white wine arrived warm, and not worth $19/glass. The tacos were rather dry and plain and didn't have much flavour. For the prices they ask, it's simply too expensive for the experience. I don't see the value in going back.
The time it took from ordering our meal to receiving it was 45+ minutes. The restaurant was, at best, 1/3rd full. The food didn't have much taste and in our opinion was overpriced because of this. The cocktail I ordered was luke warm. The order in which the food came out was bizarre. They served my appetizer only and we had to wait a bit for the rest of the food to arrive. Our server was polite however she cared more about the table next to us. Not once during the entire experience were we asked "how is the food tasting?", "how was your meal?", "can I get you anything else?". We asked for the bill when the rest of our food was delivered in hopes that we wouldn't have to wait long to pay however that was not the case. When we left, a the hostess came in the elevator with us and other guests. Instead of striking up casual conversation, she pulled out her phone and focused on that for the whole elevator ride to the lobby. Overall the experience was subpar and left us feeling that it was not worth the money we paid and certainly did not live up to Rosewood's reputation or standards. Not only did the delay in service affect our general experience but it also made us late to another appointment that was scheduled for 1 hour and 45mins after we sat down.
On a positive note: The sous chef came over to our table and welcomed us to the restaurant soon after we were seated. That was the best service we received during the entire experience.
Horrible cold and hard food. Tasteless food. The servers had no shame in their quality of food.
Great food great atmosphere and the service was excellent! Went for mother's day and my mom and grandma got a complimentary chocolate dipped strawberry, chocolates and a rose! It was awesome!
Came in for Mother's Day brunch and they knocked it out of the park. Service was attentive but not distracting, food was prepared and plated beautifully, and to top it off they have my Mom a rose and chocolates as well as a chocolate covered strawberry at the end of the meal.
Over priced for minimal food. Was super excited to go here but was upset at how expensive it was for a standard dish or drink.
Horrific service. 5 oz wine pour looked more like about 4 and our server cleared our wine for the next round before we finished our glasses. Moderately overpriced food in an awesome venue. $18 for a very small bowl of chips and about 3/4 of a cup of guacamole. The icing on the cake was the hostess averted her eyes from us as we left in order to avoid saying goodbye.
Lovely waitress but very poor service and the Cobb salad was dire.
The food was tasty, and very eclectic, however it was way too expensive for what it was
Pretty disappointed about the service and our food. Our tacos were flavourless, dry, and the tortillas were stale. We complained to the server and she didn’t do a thing to compensate us for the bad food, she even charged us for them. As a young woman, I often find that whenever I go to Reflections I am treated with disrespect because I look young. I expect to be treated the same as any customer in a restaurant, no matter my age.
Absolutely top notch service delivery with state of the art cocktails and share plates.
Great spot. But.... come on guys, you need more than 2 beers on tap.
The service was below what I thought one could expect from a high end hotel. We arrived slightly before three thirty and the manager would not seat us, he asked us to wait in the hallway. At three thirty five the hostess finally came by to let us in and showed us to our table.
Service was a bit slow with the drinks orders and it took a while for them to arrive at the table. We did enjoy ourselves until I revived an automated letter from open table informing me of my poor restaurant etiquette. As the hostess was in a rush to seat us, it seems our booking may have been overlooked, however no one bothered to ask if we had a reservation or asked for a name.
The waitress told us while seating, “No rush but because it’s Dine Out, you’ll need to be out by 90 minutes from now.” That felt a bit rushed to me! The no one took our drink order for at least 10 minutes but by the time the 90 minutes were up the place was half empty anyway. Food was mediocre and low value even at Dine Out prices. Nice ambiance, go for a drink
I came here to eat for Dine Out Vancouver tonight and everything about the food and ambiance was a very enjoyable experience. My 1/5 star overall rating stems from the service I received at Reflections. It was a rainy Vancouver night as usual, so I came in with my umbrella. Let me make it clear that I never leave my umbrella in the common buckets that stores/restaurants often have as I am always concerned that someone may mistake my umbrella for theirs. The umbrella I use contains a lot of sentimental value to me. The hostess offered to take my umbrella for me and I saw that they kept the umbrellas behind the hostess table for safe keeping. Since it is an upscale restaurant I decided to entrust them with my umbrella under the assumption that they would tag the umbrella and associate it with our table. At the end of the night we paid up and asked the hostess for our umbrella. They could not find our umbrella and it was clear that they had accidentally given our umbrella to someone else. I am fairly frustrated at this event as it completely ruined my entire night. This umbrella is not replaceable and it contains a lot of sentimental value. While I understand that it is just an umbrella, I had expected much better service and standards from a place like Reflections. While they did offer me hotel umbrellas in replacement, this does not replace the original umbrella that they had willingly given to another customer.
The food on the other hand was very good. I had the beef short ribs for my main entree and the beef was very tender. For dessert, the Dine Out menu came with a dessert board to share between two people which included panna cotta, macarons (passion fruit and vanilla) and almond brittle. My favourite dessert out of the 3 was the panna cotta. The passion fruit macaron I could have done without.
Overall, my experience is a pretty niche/one off experience (I would hope) it just really put a damper on my night, and what would have been a 5/5 review.
Great restaurant. Only pit fall was their cocktail menu was absurdly priced. $25 is ridiculous for any single drink. Otherwise great food and atmosphere.
We had a wonderful evening as we were celebrating a birthday. The food was good & it was a beautiful ambience. Would love to visit again..
The food was delicious but the prices for drinks were quite high.
Told Waiter was for two birthdays- he didn’t hear I guess, no dessert treat for bdays, beer very expensive- food was very tasty- worked at hotel for six years
Tap water was unfiltered, portion size too small. Chemical storage/ cleaning products visible in bathroom
The food was very mediocre. But the ambience is good. Probably will come back for drinks.
Food was not the best part, quite expensive for average food.
It was our first time at Reflections. The servers & hostesses were outstanding, they always say hi and very attentive. The ambience was great, we loved the setting. Then there's the food. We had the vancouver dine-out menu. The charcuterie appetizer was good, but the main rib steak that I got tasted burnt. It was tender but it had a bitter after taste. I was very disappointed I just didn't have the energy to tell the server as the restaurant's already closing & I didn't want to bother them anymore. I think the sauce was burnt & maybe the outside of the meat too. I am not sure if it was supposed to taste like that but I never had a steak or ribs that tasted like that. The $14 virgin cocktail (most expensive virgin cocktail I had) was meh. It tasted like instant lemonade that was left out for 3 days. :( I was so excited to eat there but now I am scared to come back because of this experience.
