- AAmandavipJacksonville / Northeast Florida •12 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoMeal was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. We are fortunate enough to have a GREAT steakhouse in our home town. Unfortunately every time we visit a different steakhouse we compare it to this one. Having said that, this restaurant was not worth the price.More infoPrime & PearlPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Gainesville•4.6

- MMikalaJacksonville / Northeast Florida •1 review5.0Dined on Sep 28, 2024I can’t say enough. My husband and I have been here in Gainesville for 6 months and we come from a very food focused city. We went for his birthday dinner. Mildred’s is easily the best food we have had since moving here! All of the proteins were cooked perfectly, the sauces were fun and delicious, and the atmosphere is comfortable but elegant. The staff is amazing and it seems like owner cares for them. I can’t wait to try them for lunch!More infoMildreds Big City FoodPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Gainesville•4.6
- TTimVirginia •4 reviews5.0Dined on Sep 15, 2024Not their fault, but we sat outside, which was lovely, but there were two “kids” skateboarding on the sidewalk right next to our table. They were very loud. This is an issue for the Gainesville PD. Something for Amelia’s to bring up with them.More infoAmelia's Italian CuisinePrice: Expensive• Italian• Gainesville•3.7

Discover Ocala
Horse farms and small diners are commonplace along U.S. Route 441 between Gainesville and Ocala; both are integral parts of Central Florida culture. When you stop for a meal in the area, you'll find that some of the best places may be connected to a gas station or convenience store. Since most establishments are locally owned, they give off an "Old Florida" vibe. Barbecue sandwiches are popular when served with slow-cooked vegetables. Biscuits and gravy are in high demand at breakfast time. Even in small towns like Micanopy and Reddick, you will find a range of Italian, Mexican, and Cuban cuisine. If you head to the east side of Orange Lake, restaurants in the small towns of Citra and Hawthorne are rumored to serve Florida gator tail and authentic Greek gyros.
