Reservations for 5 PM on a Sunday. We were at a quiet table near the fireplace. We checked in and were seated on time. The Christmas music playing in the background was not overbearing and we were able to have conversations easily. The waitstaff was attentive and never had to ask for refill of water and our wine glass was kept charged. The menu has a select number of items, but the chef did an exceptional job with our selections (one vegan and one flextarian). The prices were standard for the level of service and quality of food in the Byward Market area. I would suggest this for those wanting to have a nice evening for special occasions.

Tenderloin served to perfection. Wine choices were great and definitely paired well with the food. Dessert was delicious. Pavlova and creme brulée were to die for. Was a little loud do to a Christmas party, but that is not thr fault of the establishment. Wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely experience.

Excellent service, food was exceptional Only disappointment was they did not have the seafood tower available (lobster out) We actually made the reservation to try this so that was very unfortunate

Food and ambience amazing as ever. However there was a fire in kitchen so they shut it down. I understand these things happen but waiter opened our second bottle of wine as he was telling us the kitchen was closed. 2 bottles of wine and we split oysters and scallops. The server did bring us some bread. Feel like the restaurant should have comped us something given we ordered 2 cocktails and 2 bottles of wine and never got dinner!

Over two weeks, traveling from Winnipeg to Ottawa, we had 18 meals out and this was, by a wide margin, the best restaurant experience we had in Canada. You owe yourself this experience when you are in the wonderful city of Ottawa.

Celebrated our 28th Anniversary in Ottawa and chose e18hteen. We were not disappointed! From the espresso martinis and wine to seafood tower, chateaubriand and dessert it was just amazing. Our server, Anna, was top notch.

Superbe expérience au restaurant , le service est irréprochable et très attentionné, tous les plats nous ont été expliqué et par dessous tout, la nourriture y est excellente ! It was our second date in a long time since the birth of our first baby. It gets incredibly difficult to have our own time when you have a little one with you, but dining at Restaurant e18hteen was definitely the right choice for us. Wife had such a great time experiencing food and service that she joked about forgetting about our son (and that's huge coming from my wife). 10/10 experience and food was just top notch.

The greeting upon arrival was warm and cordial. Our server, Alex, was friendly knowledgeable and attentive. The food, while incorporating unique combinations of spices, was excellent. Well prepared and presented. Portions are generous. We started with a small ceaser salad and a green salad (not on the menu but available upon request). Both were fresh and delicious. Our entrées of Muscovy duck breast and halibut arrived shortly after. Both dishes were lovely to look at and tasted even better. The flakey white fish was well seared on one side and nestled in a bed of stewed lentils,dried shrimp and octopus. The duck with properly crisp skin and moist, succulent flesh was enhanced by a rich demiglace. A bottle of Ripossa Villabella Veneto valpolicella complemented the whole meal. We were treated to a surprise of mini french macarons on a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolte. Nice touch. Dessert, a pistachio gel with chocolate ganache on a bed of candied nut gravel and freh berries, was amazing! I'd highly recommend Restaurant 18 for a special dining experience. While it's a bit more expensive than most other venues in the market area, Restaurant 18 offers good value for your money.

We went here for our anniversary and it was amazing! Both the appetizers and main meals were outstanding and we loved the bread and butter plate provided! Our sever was a great! I had wanted to order the Lobster Agnolotti, and our sever advised they were out so I chose the duck, but when the mains came out they surprised me with the lobster (which was absolutely delicious). Overall a great experience and we would definitely go again!

Went here for my birthday and had an amazing night! The food was beautiful, tasty and fairly quick to come out. I was even given a birthday dessert at the end of the night which was very nice.

We took our daughter for dinner at Restaurant e18hteen to celebrate her 18th birthday. The place is immaculate and very cozy. Food was very tasty, and everyone liked what they ordered. They served complementary starters/salads, the best bread I have ever had and butter while we were waiting for our orders. The server was very polite, friendly and made us feel comfortable there. For dessert, they served a complimentary Pavalova to our daughter, which I thought was very nice. Overall it was an amazing experience to celebrate a birthday!

We went out for our wedding anniversary dinner. We had checked the menu online beforehand and thought we might order the Chateaubriand for two. Unfortunately they were sold out of it . However our second choices made us forget about that little setback. I had the filet and my husband the strip loin . Both steaks were tender, juicy, flavourful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Sides of aioli potatoes and mushrooms were delicious complements to the meat. The Caesar salad came topped with its own little anchovy, very tasty. Our server Adam was very pleasant , professional and adept at decanting a lovely bottle of wine. We were too full for desert, but not too full to enjoy a lovely trio of macarons from the house wishing us a happy anniversary. Thanks very much E18hteen , you made a special occasion very special.

Absolutely amazing food. The building itself is amazing. I'm a big fan of exposed brick. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The meal was well-paced. A very well- run machine of a restaurant turning out top quality food.

Service was great. Food was good but not fantastic. There’s better food in other restaurants in the city for better value. Dining chairs were stained. Women’s bathroom was not great. Toilet seat was disgusting and toilet paper roll was falling off the wall.

Both halibut and cod were flaky in a delicious accompaniment of veges to eat by delicious spoonful. Exceptional wait staff. Happy to have this restaurant of the highest quality in the Byward Matket area.

Amazing experience! We came to e18hteen for our anniversary and had the most amazing culinary experience. Service was impeccable, and in french! Loved every bites of my meal and the music playing was jazz covers of well known pop songs. Very happy!
