I along with my partner learned a valuable lesson when traveling to Old Quebec City. If you are a foodie and want to to experience fine French dinning cuisine you need to book your reservation the moment you arrive in the city. Because these places fill up quick! Lucky for us we were able to book a late night table at the renowned Le Continental - a favourite of the late Anthoney Bourdain. And one of the main reasons that we had to come to Quebec City. To put it simply the food was magnificent.
Excellent service, no waiting time, food was fresh, refined and tasty, very good menu selection, table d'hòte a great value, deserts exquisite. Really appreciated the experience and will hopefully repeat it soon.
We had a wonderful dinner there this week, can’t wait to return to Quebec City so we can dine here again! The food was delicious, service was warm and friendly (not at all the stuffiness I expected), and it overall was such a fun night. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We came to know Le Continental from watching Anthony Bourdain's Québec episode. He gave the restaurant a rave review and without question, they deserve it. We had wanted a very special meal, because we had travelled from Vancouver to Québec to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the ambience was lovely and relaxed. My husband started with the Lobster Bisque and I enjoyed the Minestrone. Both were the perfect "amuse bouche" for what was to come. For our mains, we had two of their signature flambé dishes, both prepared expertly, table-side. Our server, Matthieu, was even sweet enough to accommodate my many questions about his technique. My husband had the Mustard Sirloin Steak and I was treated to the Filet Mignon en BoÎte. It is no exaggeration to say that these were probably the best steaks we have ever eaten and both of us were born in Alberta! For dessert, we had the exquisite Crèpes Suzette, again prepared at the table by our lovely waiter. Every mouthful of our meal was perfect and the entire experience was at a superlative level. Should we ever be fortunate enough to find ourselves in Québec City again, Le Continental will be a MUST. Bravo Bravo Bravo!

We went for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed our experience. The ambience in the restaurant was just what we wanted. It was cozy, but not tight. Our waiter was impeccable, a real professional. The food was excellent - for the most part. The sides that came with our meals - particularly the mashed potatoes could definitely have been warmer. We also ordered an extra side of potatoes and that was much warmer than what came with the meal.
The waiters preparing food at the table was fun and added to our experience. If you are heading to Quebec City, I would recommend Le Continental.
The escargot were very good. House wine was ok. My cocktail was very good. Making Caesar salad at the table was a joke, basically putting their house dressing in a bowl and mixing in lettuce like it was a big deal. Main courses were acceptable but not noteworthy. Cheesecake not very good. Irish coffee was super good way to end meal on a high point.
We came to Quebec City for our honeymoon and enjoyed a lovely evening at Le Continental. Our waiter Ange was fantastic and the food was delicious. When we go on holiday we treat ourselves to one very fancy evening and Le Continental did not disappoint! Thank you for a great evening.

steaks are good. The "show" ....cooking table side was fun. The waiter , like everything else was old school. pleasant enough. Hate the mandatory white dinner jackets, they just look cheap.
My husband enjoyed his meal more than I did . I prefer steak done with simple rub or just salt and pepper. Don't love gravy on my fillet. Vegetables were excellent. nice variety and nicely done. Crisp but still cooked. Squash and mashed potatoes both very good. Desserts were fine, not special but certainly good.
Overall, a pretty good old school experience
Big deal here are the steaks flamed right at your table. Fun show, excellent food.
The food was outstanding and the service was impecable. We made reservations for our anniversary and enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant.
1st waiter might be covering our spot so he might think he would not get tip so his service is so so and attitude is stiff.
If I could give Le Continental 10 stars I would! We went twice in our three night stay In Quebec City this past week! Our server Kevin was awesome, the food was insanely fantastic, and the experience of their table side service is outstanding! You NEED to go here if you're ever in Quebec City!

Possibly the best dining experience I have ever had! The food was spectacular, the service was great and the whole experience was perfect! We had a great table and I can't stop thinking about the seared foie gras, the dover sole and the pears pernod!

The food and the service were amazing. My boyfriend and I both ordered their specialty - flambé fillet minion. The meet was cooked from scratch right in front of us. Our waiter kindly shared the ingredients that he used. This was the most tender fillet minion I’ve ever tried.

Exceptional service!!!!! The gentleman serving us, Michele was so on top of things. I’ve never seen someone motor it as much as he was. Our group are all foodies, so we go to restaurants all over the world and Michele was by far the best server we’ve ever experienced. Food-of course was delicious. That just just goes without saying.
