Tasey food but very tiny portions foe the entree.lovely venue.
Service was great!! Our entrees were delicious!!
My guest and I had the lobster spaghetti and the steak. Both of which were delicious and the steak perfectly done.
A charming Inn just off the main street in NOTL. Everything about the Inn and restaurant is charming a heart warming.
Our entrees were delicious, service friendly and ambiance inviting.
We certainly enjoyed our meal and felt the service we received was excellent as was the food.
Really great spot for dinner - take your time, try some cocktails! Fabulous food and attentive server (without feeling like you are being rushed). Get the mussels - they are to die for!
We preferred the chicken risotto over the steak, but everything came out hot, and were great (generous) portions.
A regular special meal destination for us. Reservations recommended in theater season. Food is scrumptious and the mains have excellent flavor pairings between the meat and vegetables and sauces.
If you like coffee after dinner drinks they have nice ones.
Good range of wines, roughly 40 whites and 40 reds.
Service is good, without hovering.
For the entrees, the angus ribeye steak was very good, the crab cakes were excellent, cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was great, dressed good for my liking. Although for the desserts very disappointed that they removed the hot chocolate from the menu, it was a great drink for families with kids, we were also disappointed with the coffee which used to be more flavourful and bold in the past but now found it to be more watered down and weak. But we also ordered a chocolate ice cream, which was very delicious and creative with the crushed shortbread cookies. Overall our meal was very good with some downsides.
We stayed at the original Oban Inn many years prior to the fire and were really looking forward to this visit. We dined at the restaurant on a Thursday night and it was amazing -- the service impeccable, the atmosphere enjoyable and was likely the best steak dinner we have had in many years. When we go back, we will definitely have dinner at the Inn again. Breakfast however was another story. Service again was impeccable. The food was disappointing. The eggs were cold and overcooked, plate was cold, the toast was cold and the number of potatoes overwhelming. We should have sent it back and were sorry we didn't. Other than that ... it was great.
Excellent service by Jimmy!!! Attentive to my husband’s Celiac disease.
Lovely evening & delicious dinner!
Wonderful Anniversary dinner, the food is absolutely magnificent. So deliciousThe staff was very friendly and helpful and efficient. The atmosphere in the restaurant is excellent esp since it is in a historic building. Wonderful meal highly recommended.
I ordered chicken and my friend had the salmon. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious! Our waiter was Elexa and she did an excellent job of answering our questions, accommodating our requests and serving the meals. The piano music was a lovely accompaniment to the meal.
The food was delicious and the service impeccable ! Thank you Jimmy for the wine recommendation . Lovely evening!
Dinner was delicious, perhaps a bit pricey. Great that there was ample parking.
Only one complaint. There were only 3 blueberries and half a strawberry on the dessert described as ice cream with berries. However the ice cream was home made and very delicious! Just don’t be stingy with the berries!
The Restaurant Oban Inn has a fairly simple menu with appetizers such as a Caesar salad with freshly cooked bacon and crab cakes; and main dishes such as an angus ribeye, lobster spaghetti and scallops. Rather than frequently changing the menu, the Restaurant Oban Inn seems to be content to do an amazing job with their staple dishes.
Service here is very good. Alexa and everyone who has ever waited on me has been a perfect blend of friendly and professional.
I have eaten here on multiple occasions and have always left completely satisfied with the meal and amazed at their ability to consistently churn out excellent classic cocktails.
Look forward to my next visit!
An elegant choice for a special meal. Service was sophisticated yet relaxed. The space was beautiful.
The food was skimpy. I would have liked a white table cloth, that always makes the difference for me.
Elegant, quiet atmosphere for an intimate dining experience. Excellent food and our server had just the right amount of “friendliness”.
Because my husband has hearing loss server found a quieter table near bar fir us which was appreciated. Food was delicious but very important to us was the kindness of the staff.
Mussels were good, duck confit too greasy, shrimp and scallops too salty, crème caramel was delicious. Irish coffee was great. Alexa our server was wonderful!
Really enjoyed the experience. The food was amazing and service was excellent.
Had a lovely meal at the Oban Inn… food was great, ambience lovely and prices were fair.
My husband had the chicken and risotto which he thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately there were little vegetarian options and the marzipan cream pasta was a very rich and unhealthy option.
It’s sad that there are no healthy vegetarian alternatives. Not even a soup or salad.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Food, service, ambiance, and the location were all perfect! Highly recommend.
The evening started and ended with wonderful service. Our server Alexa was a wonderful server and really helped make the night feel special. The food as always was delicious, I recommended the lobster spaghetti.
first visit, will definitely as to Niagara on the Lake must dine! Dining room very well designed, staff efficient and pleasant, food excellent! Had mussels appetize and duck for main course, superb!
Absolutely delicious. Scallops and shrimp perfection as was lobster pasta. Service was excellent. Attentive and not intrusive. Highly recommend!
Just an absolutely perfect dining experience! From our wonderful, knowledgeable server, Alexa, to the exquisitely prepared food - we highly recommend this excellent venue.
I would definitely return to this restaurant. The food, service and ambiance was lovely. The only thing that I would recommend would be to enlarge the menu a little but I understand that could be impossible because of limited kitchen staff as a result of Covid.
The evening was a delightful experience!
The room was small for what you pay. The room above us was noisy. The breakfast was late coming and the food was cold and undercooked. However, they did not charge us for the meal. The dinner however was very good and the service was fine.
Crab cakes were good but portion is small. Mussels are amazing and so is the lobster pasta, order without fennel. Cesar salad is also great but small portion.
Relative to other fine dining experiences in the vicinity, the food is excellent value without any sacrifice in preparation quality & presentation.
As always dinner at the Oban is one of our favourite spots in NOTL. Thank you!
We were dining with friends who share our anniversary date with us. We had a delightful evening and we also had Jimmy , who is mentioned in many reviews take care of us. He put up amazingly well with all of the questions we asked about the menu! A delightful dinner for all of us!
Had an amazing anniversary dinner here. Great ambiance and wonderful attentive service. We had the mussels as an appetizer.. SO delicious. We both agreed they're some of the we've ever had. Our mains were the duck confit and lobster pasta dish. Both outstanding and incredibly delicious. We will definitely be back!!!
Food was excellent.
It was a limited menu but varied nonetheless. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The food was also quite interestingly prepared so overall the experience was excellent. The breakfast was also very good.
Birthday & Anniversary. The entire meal was fantastic. So happy to see this establishment feature great Canadian wine. Unbelievable portions, lobster spaghetti and duck confit best choices for us. Definitely will be back after a 26 year absence.
The dinner was excellent! We had the rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection as well as the accompanying asparagus and potatoes. Desert was just a taste of sweet. A lovely way to end the dinner. Service was terrific. Friendly and attentive. Overall a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return.
