Patois is always dependably excellent. Specials are creative and we can never resist them. Cocktails are also creative and delicious. Service is excellent--very kind and attentive.

Tiny little place - will need to park on the streets in surrounding area, but the food is eclectic and excellent!! It is a bit pricy but you will not feel like the price is too high for the quality of food and service you receive.

Turn off your open table availability if you're going to be closed for Mardi Gras weekend. OR take the time to contact the customers who've made reservations so they don't show up while your doors are locked.

Service was not on point, especially for a 5:30 reservation when we were virtually the only table there for almost an hour. Waiter didn’t know specials, didn’t know ingredients of long-term menu items; bartender poured the wrong wine by the glass twice. The food was wonderful and the ambience is great, and I live in the neighborhood so I’m really pulling for these guys. Need a bit of work on the service though.

Good food and good service. The ambiance was a bit loud and crowded given the small size of the restaurant. It seems the word-of-mouth of the restaurant has somewhat outpaced the capacity of the restaurant to handle the crowds. Once seated though, its a good experience from the food to the service.

The great: Our server Peter was attentive, engaging, and funny. The crab gnocchi was rich and deeply flavorful. The gumbo of the day was made with a impressive smooth, dark, rich roux. The pork chop was thick yet tender; reminiscent of ham. The Ocello cocktail was fresh with a perfect tart/sweet balance. The Snickers Bar dessert was creative, fun, and delicious! Very good coffee. The not-so-great: we were offered not given any bread and butter. The seafood gumbo had ZERO seafood in it. It was described as having shrimp, crab, and oyster liquor. The flavor was on point, but overall disappointing and not at all worth the double-digit price. We ordered dessert and coffee. The dessert was brought out first (which included a chocolate sorbet). The coffee took another 15-20 minutes to come out, at which point we had eaten the whole treat. No apology given for the delay. We were seated right next to a window/door with no insulation in the “upstairs” room. It was a very cold night, and I kept my coat on the whole time just to stay comfortable. I had also noted that it was my husband’s birthday, and no wishes were given or even a candle for the dessert. I had dined here many years ago and was completely delighted, so we were a bit disappointed with our return here. I would give this place another chance during warmer weather and confirm that the dishes do in fact have the ingredients that they are purported to have.

We loved it! Fabulous wait staff. Great neighborhood spot. Charming atmosphere. The sauce on the mussels was all that and then some. Delightful evening and will be back often!

I am a long time fan of this neighborhood restaurant. The food is creative and consistently excellent . The wine list is outstanding as well. The service is always superb. In particular both Ryan and Peter are professional, courteous and efficient. Patois accommodates both locals and tourists but is dominated by local diners. Its location, off the local tourist beaten path requires the savvy tourist to figure out that it is worth the trip. Having said all of this I must add that some sort of dress code would improve my dining experience. It is a fine dining restaurant and I would be grateful if the tourist clientele were offered attire guidelines.

The shrimp Louis is highly recommended and the quality is now consistent, I’m happy to report. I ordered the pasta with lobster— very rich and tasty and would also stand up well with shrimp or crab. The book choy looked delicious ( I always like to have a balanced meal that includes vegetables) but was sooooooo salty I couldn’t eat it. I can ALWAYS add salt but can’t take it out.

We had a marvelous time at Patois last weekend! We ordered way too much food but it was all delicious, from the shrimp appetizer to the special apple salad to the scallops as an entree. We will be going back again for certain!

Everything here is locally sourced or made in house. Grilled shrimp were outstanding. They have an on-site smoker. Friday and Sunday brunch is awesome. Mimosas with fresh squeezed juice, unique egg dishes and oh M G the frites with aioli. Fried rabbit on buttermilk biscuits.

A nice welcome from the staff to an old New Orleans home/neighborhood restaurant. My husband had two New Orleans favorites ,turtle soup and Gulf Fish Almondine and finished every bite. I had the eggplant with spaghetti squash-with a fancy red sauce and basil pure. The wait staff never made you feel rushed and the atmosphere downstairs by the picture windows is lovely.

The restaurant is adorable. A cute house located in a residential neighborhood. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere absolutely cool and cozy. The food choices were interesting and varied. We ordered the lamb ribs and gnocchi for appetizers. Both were good though my favorite gnocchi is at August. My husband ordered the veal which he enjoyed. I ordered the scallops and the dish was too salty and buttery but still enjoyable. I would go back.

Always a teat to dine at Patois. Charming ambiance and great use of fresh local ingredients. Friendly service . Appreciate the willingness to adapt menu items for vegetarians plus they usually have one menu choice that works. This visit we particularly enjoyed the vegan winter squash soup and the olive oil cake with satsuma sherbet and raspberry sauce.

Exquisite happy hour food menu, interesting appetizer selection suited to both carnivores & vegans & pescators! Excellent bread but dessert ice- cream appealed to my companion whereas the sorbet was good for me. Bar had one bottle of Beck non alcoholic beer. What a shame! People who have food allergies are far more easily accommodated than recovering alcoholics. Please prep bar inventory with non alcoholic beverages. Clientele would be so relieved to not discuss details with servers. Alex Boutwell was a wonderful professional server. Have every hope that we will see him next March at Patois. Despite the heavy holiday crowd. He helped us in every way even to the taxi. He made the Patois experience one we will repeat.

We were seated near the bar at 6 pm when it was quiet. I asked if we could sit on the upper level, but were assured that it did not get noisy until much later. But by 6:30 pm it was so noisy we could not hear ourselves talk. This was a terrible way to treat a guest. The food (octupus, chicken) was just OK, without interesting flavors. Go somewhere else.
