   What an amazing experience. Navigating a dining experience with two small children was something we were concerned about but staff at Founder’s House were beyond accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed it far more than we could have imagined. The food and drinks were incredible as well.

    We went with the 5 course tasting menu and pairing of Nova Scotia wines. What an excellent choice! The food was locally sourced for the most part and beautifully presented. Our server Brent was very knowledgable and helpful; a perfect evening all around.

    Always an enjoyable experience at this place. The menu was thoughtfully curated with seasonal, local ingredients. The service was extremely competent, witty and thoughtful. The value for the delicacies we enjoyed was outstanding. This restaurant is truly one of the regions best treasures.

    This was for my parents' 50th anniversary. They were wished a "Happy Anniversary" when they walked in the door and everything after that was absolutely amazing. My parents are not "foodies" but it was so good they had to take pictures and recounted to us each of their 5 courses in great detail. We were so happy they had such a great experience. Thank you to the staff and chefs at the Founders House for making their celebration wonderful and delicious.

    Excellent meal, excellent service. We love the Founders House and are never disappointed. The food, I believe, is one of the best in Nova Scotia. They also vary the menu for a vegetarian which his very appreciated. The service is attentive, but not over the top. We highly recommend The Founders House.

    Excellent meal, a collaboration between Chef Chris Pyne and Chef David Smart. Very creative, wonderful sauces. Great flavour, texture, even foraging. Enjoyed the wine pairings too. We’ll be back.

    Never been to Annapolis royal and wanted to take friends for brunch. Read the great reviews, checked out the website and we are all glad we did. Had a great time, cocktails we perfect, food was delicious and well presented, staff were friendly and accommodating. Lovely spot with lots of character and charm.

    A lovely evening at Founder’s House. From the scrumptious molasses butter and fresh buns to the rhubarb lavender custard everything was delicious! Our waiter was excellent as was his bow tie. Highly recommend!

    Overall the meal was delicious and our server was courteous, efficient and friendly. We eagerly anticipated a wonderful meal at Founders as we've visited your establishment many times and have always been impressed with the food, wine list and service. My only disappointment was that the deep-fried Acadian goat cheese tasted like blue cheese.... and neither of us are fond of blue cheese. Otherwise, a lovely meal to celebrate Mother's Day.

    Great special occasion restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was quite slow but professional. Dining room could use a little more ambience - in fact the bar/lounge area has a bit better vibe than the actual dining space.

    My wife and I took treated ourselves to a Mother’s Day brunch. I got chicken and waffles; she got the Eggs Benedict. Her poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The hollandaise was rich and buttery. The pea meal bacon was surprisingly sweet, but worked well the savoriness of the other components on the plate. My fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The waffles were crispy and yeasty (the way I like them), and the simple hot sauce (which could’ve been spicier honestly) was quite flavorful and worked well with the chicken. And the Bête Noire for dessert was amazing, especially the vanilla ice cream. The service was awesome. Our server was welcoming and answered every question we had. Definitely going back again.

    I have heard many positive things about Founders House so was greatly anticipating our visit. The room and table settings were lovely and the service was excellent. It was a special 5 course 2 chef collaboration so we thought we were in for a great meal. Unfortunately the meal itself did not live up to the hype. We found one course very tasty and another one quite good. The other three courses were a disappointment taste wise although the presentation was nice. The food of these courses was very bland ( little to no taste) and the seafood was overcooked. I thought the meal was overpriced given our experience. The international wine pairings were excellent. Kudos to the friendly and attentive wait staff! I will try the restaurant again as it’s possible it was an off night. Typically, people rave about the food here.

    Dining at Founders has always been a culinary delight. As trite as that sounds, just let me state further that the service has always been attentive, friendly, astute with just the right level of attention. Never intrusive or overly friendly. And then there's the food. Chef is all about local and with superb quality in the local "pantry" what we have experienced was delicious, just creative enough without resorting to nitrogen or live bugs on the plate. All in all, an excellent dining experience in a rural setting worth every penny.

    Luxury fine dining in Annapolis Royal. Service staff was incredibly knowledgeable and the food was impeccable. The tasting menu was just as it should be and left you wanting nothing at the end. Worth the drive and the experience is second to none in the province.
