Excellent eating experience.. from walking in the door and being greeted by employee, seated and drink order taken, was maybe 3 minutes. Meal was served hot and excellent taste. Server was very friendly and helpful! The Richmond is truly the best restaurant on Staten Island.

Made appointment for Mother’s Day. Only patio available. Got there and there were multiple tables inside available (the entire time we were there) but was seated outside. There is an apartment next door and no wall or fence to block the view. For the entire meal my family and I watched a man in his underwear throw out garbage, do laundry, smoke a cigarette. Not a great view for Mother’s Day. I have been here many, many times over the years and this was just awful. I ordered the lamb. Terrible dry meat, super small. They forgot my side dish. My family has good food so at least that was a plus. The drinks were also great, I guess I just needed to drink more to forget how terrible the rest of the experience was. What a shame.

We have been to The Richmond before. Times prior the food was good, drinks were great and the service was normal. Last night, was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a restaurant. Everything was pretty bad. The drinks were made nice but had to wait 30 minutes to order drinks. Every table around us had gotten bread when they sat down. Not us. To me, the place seemed that it was poorly managed and the staff was not being utilized properly. The waitress was kind but not attentive in the slightest. Would never return.

We frequent the Richmond quite often and are never disappointed. The service is exceptional, the food is always good and the bartender never misses a beat. The manager, Chrissy, is always accommodating and treats everyone like family. We’ll be back for sure.

First time here, food, service, vibe was outstanding. One of the nicest places with great food on the island. Only thing I’d like to mention is their liquor prices are a bit pricey, although, they do have a reasonable higher end wine list that is priced fairly.

This beautiful quaint place is a must visit! The ambience is beautiful and the food is delicious. The signature drinks are out of this world. If you like bourbon, the drink the Richmond is the way to go. The customer service is impeccable. Waiters are not rushing the food to the table. Ashley, the hostess, was nice enough to accommodate a last minute reservation change on a Saturday night on Valentine’s Day weekend. It was very much appreciated.

As usual, food and drink were outstanding. The hostess and all the staff are very friendly. Service started out excellent, but was not so attentive towards the end of the meal. The waitress was charming but overwhelmed and the was only one food-runner. We sat at our table at the end of our meal (before dessert) for quite a while. Also, while the drinks were excellent, upon receiving the bill, I was quite surprised and a bit perplexed as to why a Michters rye Manhattan cost $23. I’ve had the exact cocktail (same ingredients) at numerous bars and restaurants in Manhattan and the price is typically between $15 and $19. I have eaten at The Richmond numerous times and would definitely and gladly return, but the restaurant needs to hire more staff and re-think its cocktail prices.

Unfortunately it was one of the worst restaurant experiences ever, the place was so cold that everyone was sitting with their winter coats on as they ate and periodically going to the back to warm themselves by the fireplace as if they were at an outdoor campfire. It's sad being Christmas Eve and being acutely aware how difficult it has been for restaurants post pandemic. We tried to overlook the poor service since there was one server for all the tables. The food was cold, the main course wasn't what was ordered, served chicken rather than the braised shortribs that my husband ordered. Server was so embarrassed she tried avoiding us. Never offered a refill on our empty drinks, then told us the $100 AMEX gift card couldn't be processed because their credit card machine wouldn't process it without adding a 3.5 % credit card fee in spite of it being a gift card not a credit card. I had to challenge the hostess to call AMEX to straighten out their problem. I wasn't going to add another $100 in cash to the tab as they seemed to want. They finally called AMEX, after 25 minutes they said they could only use $ 83.00 of the $100 and I should pay the rest in cash & use it elsewhere. I told them to keep it when they figured it out they would have the full $100 face value. I tipped the server 20 % in spite of the ruined evening. The parking valet was the highlight of the evening. Will never return to The Richmond, there are way too many fine restaurants on the north shore of Staten Island to deal with an establishment so subpar !

The Richmond is currently my favorite restaurant to visit. The waitresses are always very good, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is excellent, flavorful, fresh and most importantly consistent! They have a nice selection on the menu and good specials as well. I have not had anything I not only haven't liked but haven't thought was anything less than delicious. Great value for their product can't wait to go back.
