We were visiting Toronto 2 years ago and went to Patria for the first time. We loved everything (food, service and ambiance). This time we came back hoping to have the same experience but the food was average. Disappointing.
My husband and I went to Patria for the second time this past Saturday. We love the atmosphere and the food was very good. We shared a few things and then each got an entree. The crispy suckling pig with celeriac puree was out of this world! Our server, however, was lacking a personality on a grand scale. No smile, no engagement whatsoever. We did interact with others who brought courses to the table who were very pleasant. Maybe this gentleman was having an off day, but it was a good thing we had been here before and had a good experience because I don't think we would return if we had encountered that on our first visit.
Always great a great dining experience. Food dishes are creative with exceptional taste. Consistently great great service every visit!
The food and service was amazing! It’s a bit pricey, so great as a treat. Can’t wait to come back.
Took my wife out for her birthday. Dinner was excellent we shared a large Viera Paella and three small dishes and it was delicious.
They took the time to add a candle to our desert and we had a very pleasant experience.
I wish we discovered this restaurant earlier. We had SUCH a good experience. We ordered the truffled cheese, mushroom croquetas, seafood paella, and asparagus for two.
Everything was just perfect, loved the decor, love the lighting, love the food, and more importantly, we both enjoyed dinner in every single possible way. I would definitely come back again.
Always a best place to eat with friends and family. Great food and nice lit ambience.
wasnt a big a fan of the seafood plate, everything else was on point, desert was amazing.
there was only one server for the entire section.
amazing atmosphere, nice paintings, good vibe and got the sense of spanish history
for someone not familiar with spanish food, theyll have a hard time picking what to eat, server can be informative and more patient on explaining
Delicious and creative dishes. Beautiful room but very noisy. Every plate was so great. Pricey but worth an occasional visit
Great food and spectacular service
A group of friends had dinner together at Patria prior to the Fleetwood Mac concert. The meal was delicious. Especially the paella and sangria. It’s a beautiful restaurant, very zen. The staff and service were terrific.
Our waiter Coleman was excellent . he was very professional , warm and friendly. He was knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting the various courses. the menu is a little complicated to understand which dishes compliment each other and his suggestions were enjoyable. The room is beautiful and we would highly recommend the restaurant to friends.
Great ambience. Shareable plates were mainly fantastic and the waiter was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. Highly recommend!
Recommended by a friend. 4 of us at Patria on Saturday night. We got the best table in the house, to the right of the bar in the corner. Points off for the main seating area, which is very noisy. Note that they serve true tapas--small dishes--and larger dishes so it's unclear how much to order. Wait staff gave a sense of what to do, but menu is not clear. Had a seafood risotto--good, but keep in mind this is not an Italian restaurant. Good wine advice, we were willing to spend in the upper mid-range on reds and were pleased. Worth going back.
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and it was the perfect date night. The food and service were both absolutely outstanding. We split 4 tapas and a small paella and it was plenty of food. Our favorite dish was the tartar. Get it... trust me, you won't be disappointed. Also, the staff knew it was our anniversary and went out of our way to make the night special.
Everything was fantastic!
The food was flavourful and the service was incredible. Can’t wait to go back!
Overall we had a great experience here. We all went out for a girls night and really enjoyed the food. Definitely would recommend to others!
Wonderful experience. Service is fantastic-attentive staff. Atmosphere is lovely-soft lighting, not overcrowded, appropriate music and decor.
Great tasting menu from Sebastian
Excellent service - professional, friendly & attentive!
Tapas were excellent - tasty, creative, and octopus was amazing!
Highly recommend for a date - enjoyed sharing tapas and paella
Recommend trying the bacon wrapped dates and the paella - empanadas were okay but nothing spectacular
Only disappointment was that they were sold out of the beef cheek which is what I really wanted to try but these things happen.
Overall great ambiance, great food, excellent service
Meal started out great with food coming quickly and very tasty. Portions were smaller than expected (even after accounting for it being tapas on King West). Service was just okay—very slow and not very attentive. For the price I’m paying, I want good food and good service. Standout dishes include the suckling pig and the Flores con mile dessert. That being said, I won’t be returning.
Definitely recommend for date night. The lighting is just right for cozy conversations. Our server was very knowledgeable with menu recommendations. Try the bacon wrapped dates with cilli and cheese and Hazelnut Mousse. If I didn't have a lactose issue I have eaten it by myself.
Fabulous food, great service and awesome King St location
Wonderful authentic place with great service and a wonderful ambience
Was there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Great food and interior, although on the pricey end, with a mediocre service...Our server was not rude or unkind, however, he did not introduce himself. When I'd made the reservation online, I'd requested churros with a birthday message to be brought out as a surprise at the end of our meal. However, this did not happen, and I had to awkwardly request for it in front of my boyfriend. I had explained that this was supposed to be a surprise to one of our servers, however, she did not seem to understand the situation, and no apologies were made. I felt that our experience here could have been better with a better service. I don't think I will re-visit this restaurant.
A bit pricey, especially of you want to try a bunch of the tapas on top of something more substantial (tapas usually come in twos to share with someone).
Service was very good. Food was very good.
The sommelier was knowledgeable, although, the wine was quite a bit overpriced, as is typical in more upscale restaurants.
Overall good experience.
Great place, great food, great service. Really happy to celebrate a special moment there
Great service and delicious meal.
Food was fantastic but portion was tiny, just for a taste. Service was the best and the waiter was awesome and he took cares of every details, except that day was my birthday and I marked this occasion when booking on line. however They did not do any happy birthday thing until my friend requested. We got a big plate with a ordered cake as well as a free candle and happy birthday note. I guess this would be done before request in a fine restanranut like this. Hope they will be working on this detail for a better best costumer experience. In all it was great for special occasions. It cost us $450 for five people and I tipped almost 100$ additionally.
Very good paella. Marvin, our server was excellent, very attentive and personable.
A bit too noisy for a date or romantic dinner around 8-9pm
Would come again.
We loved the vine Al-muverde. Superb quality. Churos was best surprise desert.
Lovely little spot on King Street - attentive wait staff and nice selection of menu items plus specials. Will be back.
Hands down my favourite restaurant in Toronto and I’ve lived here my whole life. Amazing and authentic Spanish food. There’s something for everyone on the menu, and the service is excellent. The only downside was it was a little dark and loud which was hard for my grandma who is hard of hearing and legally blind. But she loved all the food!!
More on style, less on substance and flavor
Patria has a great atmosphere , beautiful decor however the food was pretty average. Our server was very nice and helpful while we were ordering our food ,the food came on time and everything went nicely till our food started to be served ...We ordered pan con tomate and monchego for 4 people (double size), it was pretty embarrasing trying to find the cheese on the plate , everybody was nice to leave it to each other as the amount of cheese served was ridiculously small...Then followed patatas bravas ,empanadas, croquetas de sates , which tasted ok but again the amount for 4 people were really small even for tapas....Paella we ordered for $59 was a good size for 4 people but it was nothing to write home about ...We finished the meal with churros .It was a pleasant evening however I think Patria needs to up his game a bit if it wants to charge this much for such small portions
My husband and I love Spanish food - especially east coast Spain menus. We went to Patria for his 40th birthday and it was a lovely time, with a great atmosphere, yummy eats and a fabulous server. Highly recommend!
