Second visit there and second time seeing cobwebs in the restaurant.
There were maybe five tables filled the whole time we were there. Not sure why a group had to be seated right behind us, when there was plenty of other seats available.
Got annoyed with the 2 phone calls, day before and morning of reservation, calling to confirm.
Got an e-mail thanking me for our visit, before we had even been there.

I am local and at this time do not a have a desire to come back.
While the food was good, my taste isn't that fancy or expensive.
Maybe a more casual menu in the off season to bring out the locals.

Great venue and good food but pricey. Pet peeve - relatively expensive restaurant that charges extra for a small basket of ordinary bread.

We went here on the recommendation of our kids who highly recommended it. We were not disappointed. The waitress was fantastic, attentive but not overly intrusive. She made a recommendation on the meals and on the wine. Both of them were great!. We had a table at the window which gave us a great view of the lights on the other side of the lake. The only downside was that there was a cool draft so we had to wear jackets if we wanted to stay warm. It is expensive but it was well worth what we paid. Great evening and we would highly recommend it.

Menu is not extensive but the options are done extremely well. Beautifully presented, delicious, and well put together for flavour. Service was great on all the occasions we have been there. The restaurant is beautiful and the views are amongst the best in the Okanagan. Although it is on the high end price wise it's easy to recommend when you are feeling ready to splurge on a great dining experience in a lovely ambience.

Went for our anniversary dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it! Oysters were terrific! Pork chop was excellent, cornish hen was decent, not great. Such a lovely atmosphere - romantic without being awkwardly quiet. Very good service. We will definitely go back!

Always love the setting at Quails Gate and the food is good. I just wish they would change up the menu a bit and provide a few more options. Soup was cold when it came to the table (never understand why a chef serving up would not check this?), but once reheated, it was very good.

Quails Gate has an amazing setting and ambiance. I had the Cornish hen which was excellent and very flavourful! I love being able to get the flight of wines so you get to sample several wines not just one.
This is not a restaurant if you are looking for a cheap meal.

Beautiful location but unfortunately food didn't live up to all the hype. A group of us were there for brunch. I chose the omelet with potatoes which was just ok. The potatoes were cooked in too much oil so they were a bit greasy. The spinach and cheese omelette was quite bland. The price was ok but I expected more based on it's reputation.

This was our 2nd time @ Quails' Gate. The 1st was lunch a few days previous. We were disappointed w/ dinner; the room was noisy, & the quick movement of the staff didn’t make of relax. My fish, cod, was over-seasoned, so, I didn't eat much of it. My wife’s pork was very tough. The appetizes were great! The burrata salad had many great flavors, &, the special app, tortellini w/ mushrooms had great earthy mushroom flavors. The reason we came back was the lunch was OUTSTANDING. We sat outside looking @ the vineyards. Sorry, I don't remember what we had, but it was also great!

Sorry, but having spent thirty years in the hotel & food service, I both enjoyed and was surprised with the experience. Hostess needed to offer to help seat as I was left with trying to seat 3 ladies & dashing around the table. If you wish to play in the big leagues, then may I politely recommend that service should be from the right & dish removal from the left. Two scallops in appetizer dish is outrageous @ $20. Increase the portion & perhaps your food cost can be distributed to other dishes to make up any difference or remove it from the menu. Also your floor supervisor & server need to be more discreet when dealing with the troublesome lady who sent her meal back. They were way too obvious in such a small room. Fabulous wine products. Apple sales for the Food Bank big plus with us all!

I was disappointed in what you get for what you charge. No extras, like bread , no table ambience and no small side salad with your entree. I thought a birthday person may get a free dessert or something for a special occasion. Waiter was polite and atmosphere was lovely but I don't think I would return in the near future.

We’ve dined at Quails Gate several times and really enjoyed it. This time we didn’t and we doubt that we will return.
We ordered two squash soups that were cold. The server offered to reheat or replace them but we were almost finished so we didn’t see the point. The portion was very small and NOT the best squash soup I’ve ever had.
Our main courses, chicken and trout, were good but not spectacular. We asked for a side of roasted potatoes but the server forgot to to order them. She told us that it would only take a minute to prepare them so we asked her to bring them anyway but they arrived AFTER the meal was finished. We returned them.
We ordered the apple cake for dessert. It was very good.
All this for a $159.00 meal. Very disappointed. Not the level of service and cuisine that we’ve come to expect from Quails Gate. No one offered a complimentary “anything” nor did they reduce the price of the $10 cold soup. We just didn’t feel like they really cared. There are much better restaurants in Kelowna.

The food is pretty. But what you see is not what you eat. The food is blend and sad.
Also the tables for two is in the worst place, not able to see the view. Waste of money.

Our dining experience with "Old Vines" restaurant was superb ...we were celebrating my husband's birthday and the tasting event exceeded anything we expected. Our server, a young lady whose name I did not quite get, was particularly pleasant and did an exceptional job of taking care of our table, careful to explain what each dish and wine was all about, keeping our water glasses filled and just was very friendly and efficient doing her job. The food also was exceptional, as was the wine served with each course. We just could not have had a more satisfying dining experience. Thank you for a perfect evening.

Like many Okananagan winery bistros this place is pricey, a bit stuffy and doesn’t quite deliver the promise made on the menu page. Both our cuts of meat, steak and wild boar, were tasty but tough. Service was fairly smooth but somewhat indifferent. End of season boredom perhaps? Amazing view, of course, but that’s to be expected. Had better food at other wineries.
