Those behind Socialē by Villa Rosa have been offering consistently great food and wine from both B.C. and Italy for more than 15 years in Penticton. That food, which includes fresh, local produce, and wine complements the atmosphere and makes for an unforgettable experience.

Socialē, which is Okanagan family owned, is the cousin of Villa Rosa Ristorante, which is on hiatus. The soul of that restaurant will live on through Socialē. The Italian wine bar and coffee house has taken the best from Villa Rosa Ristorante and turned it into something even more unique and special.

    This is one of my "go to" restaurants. Last night we tried the dinner special and it did not disappoint! The lasagna was outstanding with just the right amount of sauce, cheese and meat. Literally, it melted in my mouth! I usually always have leftovers to take home but I ate the whole thing! Can't wait to go back. Oh, and on Wednesday's bottles of wine are 1/2 price. Excellent deal and if you don't drink it all you can take the remainder home. Can't wait to go back. Thanks to Tyler and his team for excellent service, food, atmosphere and value!!

    I love Sociale! Tonight I took some collegues there for a business meeting/dinner. As always Tyler and staff took excellent care of us. We came a bit early and got in on the happy hour specials. Excellent service from Steve and delicious food! Can't wait to come back.

    Nice but not outstanding. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was excellent. We had 7 different tapas. The food was okay but overall not outstanding (the bruschetta was delicious though). The location is super nice. Not somewhere we would run back to.

    We had dinner and wine before the Bryan Adams concert and had a wonderful time at Sociale. The food was delicious! We shared some small plates and it was plenty for 2 people. We had the meatballs, burrata with endive and figs and the beef carpacio. The Empress Gin drink was beautiful, flavorful and elegant. The Pinot Noir from Blasted Church was a great surprise too! Great service and a great value as they offered 20% the bill for concert goers. Can't wait to go back soon!

    As always, friendly service, enjoyable conversations, wonderful wine, cocktails and food. Unfortunately, loud and crying children and young child stampeding around the restaurant resulted in my party leaving earlier than planned this time.

    Amazing Tapas! Delicious flavours in each dish! We had Caesar salad, beet salad, bruschetta, spaghetti and meatballs, gnocchi (the best dish) and tiramisu. Friendly servers.

    Well organized wine list, veal scallopini (parmagiana) was tasty & good size portion. Inside area can get a bit noisy when full but that's part of the character? Lots of servers on an August Saturday evening.

    Very disappointing meal and experience. I’ve been to Villa Rosa in the past and expected similar quality dishes but it was far from it. Our server made errors in our ordering since English was not her first language. We wanted to order some sort of bread as a starter but they only had garlic toast. So we started with that which turned out to be 4 very small pieces of thin crusty bread which were more comparable to croutons. I don’t believe our server was able to fully explain what we were receiving due to the language barrier. My meal was the CAVATAPPI AL FORNO and it was disappointing. The chicken was grilled to the driest piece of chicken I think I have ever had in a restaurant. The pork belly was simply little pieces of crispy bacon. Another meal my table had were the meatballs. They were the bland and tasteless. The highlight was the house red wine. A little cheap, a little smooth and kinda deadened my feelings of disappointment over the food and service. I would not recommend this restaurant.

    Always a treat to visit when we are in Penticton alone or with friends. Love the food, drink & personal service. Find inside a bit loud (hearing aid user) but unfortunately Smokey weather prevented our usual outside experience.

    The gnocchi and beef cheeks was very good. Veal scalloppini was veal schnitzel - the pasta was so garlicky could not eat.

    A restaurant trying to be fancy that is not. Tried to order simple plain noodles for our kids at a pasta restaurant and started off we couldn’t. Spilled our expensive bottle of wine all over the table; then came back and said they could do noodles for the kids. Ordered an appetizer and it came out after we were done eating. Food was tasty but definitely need to work on their service.

    Attended for a family dinner while visiting Penticton and had a patio table for the five of us. Amazing service, loved the tapas style as it gave the chance to sample a variety of menu items. I could live off the arancini!

    Well we had a great meal last night at Sociale! The selection of great options and sizes of plates were wonderful. You can try so many different options for the full experience. Love how the food comes out when it's ready and hot! Our main server Steve was so helpful and talked us through many questions we had. And the wine list is quite extensive which is wonderful. I also love the atmosphere in the inside dining area. Bright and laid out comfortably with an assortment of seating options. Next time we shall try the outdoor patio.

    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 10/10 across the board. Our server Nikky was nothing short of incredible. she was so friendly, personable and attentive to our group of 7 on the patio. Food and drinks were FANTASTIC! if you are ever visiting penticton or just passing through for a bite to eat, you NEED to stop here! the owner of the establishment is also phenomenal and super friendly. we had a fantastic time dining here and will be back! thank you again!!!

    Tyler and the team are fantastic! Food and service was so good that we came back a second night. Great location, excellent hospitality and the food quality and portions were spot on. The Calabrian prawns and the Cavatappi Al Forno were two of our faves. Would definitely recommend!

    Feels good inside with tables well spaced. Servers and staff were sweet, but the entire operation seemed lacking in basic organization. There were 4 of us, one guest was served 20 minutes before the rest of us! Unacceptable! The veal that 3 of us ordered was “processed”, like McNuggets. My martini filled 1/3 of the martini glass. If that’s the size of the drink they serve, an appropriate sized glass would be much better.

    Overall a nice early evening dining experience in a cafe-like environment with front patio and a lake view. Positives: Delicious food; great view of Okanagan Lake; good service from attentive and helpful staff. My wife, a vegetarian, appreciated having some options available on the menu. Negatives: The beef gnocchi, while delicious, arrived in an unreasonably small portion. The inside environment was very noisy despite only 13 other customers inside eating. Lastly, we booked a table on the patio but there was insufficient sun-shading from the umbrellas so we asked to sit inside where the noise diminished our ability to chat. Thank you for a net-positive experience Sociale. We wish you great success.

    Had the beef cheek gnocchi and is was delicious! We shared the wine flights which was a nice feature offer to try several Okanagan wines. Service was quick, friendly and responsive.

    Great new restaurant along the lakeshore, definitely would recommend it. The menu is creative. The prawns were spicy but delicious, meatballs were like homemade and the salmon pasta was very pleasant. Our waiter, Ethan, was excellent, very welcoming and attentive.

    Recommended by a friend who came a few weeks back and was not disappointed. Sat inside at a high table to be out of the sun and the busy patio noise. Arancini with crab (was hard to detect) but delicious nonetheless. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Will be back later this week and sit on the patio for happy hour.
