Wonderful meal, very pleasant service and gorgeous dining room. Not a fan of lamb but dining like a local I tried a dish and it was outstanding. Can't wait to visit again.

The food was simply amazing. We had two different main dishes and each was creative, flavourful and delicious. I don't normally order dessert, but was tempted given the already excellent food. I had a carrot cake that was the most beautiful and most tasty I have ever eaten.

The food was just amazing. I had the chicken biryani, it was outstanding. James was our waiter, he gave us outstanding service, he's funny, too! Great view of gardens. Lots of space between tables so that you are not crowded. A memorable experience.

This was my second time at Diwan; we had planned about two weeks in advance to venture to the restaurant for a special treat. Our first time was a quick lunch after visiting the museum.

The food is an excellent quality. We ordered the same dishes as the first time, and were sad to discover that a few recipes must have changed (dishes that were spicy before were now overly sweet). We were slightly disappointed, but know that other people would still enjoy them. Just wasn't for us.

The service is horrendous. In our experience, it can take almost an hour just to order drinks. The food comes quickly, but actual servers run by without checking on you, and multiple people will serve your table so it's challenging to call out or ask someone to stop and take an order. The servers are pleasant enough though. Getting refills on drinks is out of the question.

The ambiance is nice, a little loud and crowded but a beautiful location. They had live musicians, which would have been nice but the way they were mic'd sounded muffled.

Overall, our experience was good. But I don't think we would make the hour long trek just for the restaurant again - a shame, as we had some family from out of town who would have enjoyed the flavours from our first visit.

Can't wait to return for a long, lazy delicious lunch with a view! Make sure to stop in and visit the Museum before or after lunch, too. Not to be missed. The menu has something for everyone. Delicious!

For several years I wanted to go to this restaurant but it was always fully booked. I know why now. Absolutely excellent. First class selection of food, wines and coffees.
The menu tends to be representative of the current exhibitions. I am looking forward to the next visit.

Both my dining partner and myself are vegan and while the menu has no specifically vegan options, our waiter was vey attentive, personable and well informed and happily inquired in the kitchen as to our options. They were able to kindly "veganize" several dishes by removing the dairy components and we were delighted with the selections we chose to share. Our favourites were the Pani Puri to start, followed by a deliciously creative rendition of Fatoush Salad, along with savoury Saffron Potatoes. We also sampled the tasty but diminutive Jewel Art Salad and Kale Coconut Sambol which was part of the Pani Puri filling so probably would not order both together again. We would have loved to try the Sweet Pea Falafel as a main dish but our waiter kindly informed us there was egg in the dish. We opted to pass on dessert as our only option was sorbet but the Moroccan Mint Tea we chose was complex and delectable! Hopefully, Diwan will add some decidedly vegan options, especially mains and desserts, in the near future but again, we truly appreciated their flexibility in accommodating us! Gorgeous ambiance and conversation-friendly noise level!

Some of the dishes we ordered were disappointing (the salmon tartare was overwhelmed by the lime pickle ingredient; the “devils and demons” dessert was boring, a dry chocolate cake unredeemed by butterscotch ice cream). However, the space is always beautiful (we’ve been here before) and the service was excellent. And when we complained about the salmon tartare it was replaced by delicious kofta with labneh.

This is an oasis in the middle of our bustling city and busy lives. Delicious meal and quiet sanctuary set amongst intriguing exhibits and beautiful surroundings. We were there for lunch on a chilly, grey day...can only imagine how spectacular the setting would be with blue sunny skies or starry evenings.

Memorable first time luncheon experience. Waiter was very helpful explaining the cuisine. We enjoyed the entire meal from handcrafted cocktails to appetizers and main courses. Relaxed atmosphere. We look forward to our next visit to try some new dishes and once again order some of our new found favorites.

Food was delicious and service very good. The ambiance was a little noisy - too many hard surfaces.

I was somewhat disappointed that my birthday notation on my booking was not addressed by anyone during our visit but my friend enjoyed her birthday lunch in any case.

As usual, the food was wonderful! So creative in the use of spices. Not too hot, but just right. It's nice to be able to discern different spices in a dish. The presentation of the food was lovely, too. And, of course, the staff were delightful. We always enjoy our meals here.
