Amazing service and hospitality! We were greeted with warm faces and excellent service at the host. They took our coats and seated us in a timely manner. We had a great table. The sever and sommelier were FANTASTIC! We shared the scallops for our appetizer and honestly I should have ordered my own! Ate them up quick. For my main, I ordered duck, which was delicious but very hard to cut. They apologized for the difficulty and were very sincere. The desserts were delicious. The coffee not so much...
We will be back. An overall great experience! Worth the prices.
We had a very loud family beside us and they graciously moved us. Our second table was in a louder part of the restaurant but it was general loudness.
The food was excellent; 9/10. Overall, a really nice experience but it could have been better. The restaurant has a very frenetic unrelaxed feeing to it.
The staff seemed rushed and unrelaxed.
had the lobster salad, would have licked the bowl!
Absolutely excellent food, well-described. The service was attentive, and friendly.
Excellent meal. Excellent service. Bertrand was the best!
I have dined here several times and had high expectations.
Our table was terrible - right beside the kitchen.
Service was good.
The food was good but not remarkable.
This experience was not up to par with what I had become accustomed to at Hawksworth
Very good with great service and excellent food and wine list
Had a great anniversary lunch. Service was excellent. The meal was delicious! Had an appetizer, a main and desert. Gnocchi had a great flavour. Definitely a memorable meal.
Excellent food as always. Service is always impeccable and the description of each course was described well.
The seared foie gras was amazing tonight. It was cooked perfectly a top a soft bread of sorts. We also had the scallops and hamachi for starters. For mains, the duck is a must. It is my favorite main dish and I have ordered it on multiple occasions. We also had the lamb with cauliflower. Also very good although I prefer the duck if I had to choose between the 2.
For dessert we had the dark chocolate and the ice cream. The chocolate was a little sweet for my liking but still not bad. The ice cream was good as well.
We will be back again sometime soon.
Fantastic food and service. One of our best meals in Vancouver. Highly recommend!
Had a lovely anniversary dinner here.
Everything was fantastic. Presentation, freshness of ingredients, taste and wine pairing was excellent.
Met a colleague for a business lunch. As usual, superb food, and our waiter was almost invisible but always there when you needed him...in otherwords, EXCELLENT!
The 3- course lunch is excellent (every course every time)
I hope they keep this as a lunch option
The wine parings were perfect
The day bartender was really nice and super helpful
Family birthday, very delicious food, like this restaurant!
Chicken was amazing! Duck was tough & sinewy.... disappointing, and not eaten...service was amazing and we were thankful as we were not charged for the duck😊
Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, and favorite dining experience in Vancouver!
Fantastic food and lovely service, as always! 👍
The sommelier did not come to offer wine pairing for our meal. Everything else was perfect.
I had such high expectations for the dinner in the restaurant tonight but the experience was really disappointing!!! The food was just okay, nothing amazing and worth the hype. Not to mention that the service is just horrible! Our server was simply rude! His voice was so low that nobody can hear him clearly. Then he had no patience with our questions. When I asked about the parfait, what he said was it’s just a parfait... what kind of answer was that! Overall his attitude was arrogant and rude. The experience was so poor that I am not coming back for dinning anytime soon!
Overpriced and unimpressive. Service was very poor
Great venue. Fancy food. Service was wonderful. Good wine menu.
This was my third visit to Hawksworth but somehow I got disappointed. My 2 family members and I were arranged to sit in a dark corner near the restroom. This dining area was not the main glamorous area. The waiter who served us was moving like working in fast food restaurant and rush everything. This totally destroyed the elegant atmosphere dining in a French restaurant. When we asked the waiter to take a group photo for us, he did it without patience even he was not very busy. We ordered the set lunch without ordering wine or other food items. The waiter showed a bit looking down to us. When the waiter came to ask me if I want dessert or coffee or tea, I told him that dessert was included in my set lunch. He then showed impatient and told me that now he was asking if I wanted to order coffee or tea. Poor service spoil the total dining experience. I won't come back to Hawksworth again.
Our second visit to this amazing foodie restaurant. The decor takes your breath away. Innovative chef that does not disappoint. Service exceeded our expectations.... very intuitive team .
Everything was lovely from service to food. Would come again next time.
The best restaurant in the city!!! Wine pairing is a must!!!
Service was excellent! Food.....mm...wasn’t up to my expectation.......
Excellent experience all around. Great choice of drinks. Food was delicious. A bit louder than expected.
Great ambiance as soon as you walk in to the venue. You can feel the energy starting from the host, staff and guests. The food was delicious, well presented, modern and creative. It was even better to ask for recommendation from the sommeliers. The appetizers and mains were well-paired. Fantastic service by all. We would like to say a special thank you to Jayton Paul who was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Overall experience was very good. The food and drink were outstanding. The service was good, but could be improved with a little more responsiveness to equal the quality delivered with the food. The restaurant itself is a bit cozy and it would be good to have a little more room in between tables, but at the end of the day, was a great experience.
Flavors were good. Portions were small. Prices were high. Still hungry after our dinner.
We celebrated mom’s birthday there last weekend.
We were greeted by the friendly host. She was very kind and welcoming but we were distracted by how wrinkly her blouse was. Not what one would expect to be the first impression of a 5 star restaurant.
The decor and ambiance was just what we were hoping for. Dark, romantic and plush. We were comfortably seated at a round table in the back room.
The appetizers (albacore tuna, scallop) were beautifully plated and tasty. But there was no wow factor, nothing unique in flavor, texture etc. they tasted as expected.
The mains however were disappointing. 2 guests ordered lobster tail, and 2 guests ordered the beef ribeye. The lobster tail, although presented well, were tiny (looked more like large prawns) and had a soft (not fresh) consistency. The beef ribeye was surprisingly gristly. We all ended up with overly chewed pieces of meat on our plates. Admittedly we did not make a fuss, but thought the wait staff would’ve noticed the chewed meat piles building on our plates, especially when clearing the table. Instead we received no inquiry or comments.
We all had dessert (dark chocolate chantilly, sweet milk ice cream, crème fraîche, and cherry) again well plated, were all just ok, nothing noteworthy. A chocolate “happy birthday” plaque was added to mom’s dessert, which was a nice touch, but no candle. We were hoping for a candle.
2 glasses of wine
3 mains (2 lobsters and ribeye for 2)
Total: 522CAD (with tip)
For a restaurant rated as one of Vancouver’s best, we were all disappointed. The experience, service, and quality of the food has steadily declined from when we had first visited the restaurant in 2012. Unless a trusted source (ie. a like minded friend) recommends Hawksworth in the future, I don’t think any of us will be dining here again.
Smoked salmon Benny with house smoked salmon was great!
Service was personal, food was good, but lacked presentation impact, noise level was too high to really understand the Server or sommelier.
Wonderful food and ambiance, it got very loud as it got busier.
We dined at lunch
1. Service at the bar was excellent
2. The 3 course lunch menu was outstanding
3. Wine pairings and sommelier knowledge was excellent
4. The only tiny thing that was not the best was bread basket. $6 ....I have no problem with the price and the portion was large but the breads were not great (not super fresh
5. All in all great experience
Hands down, my favourite restaurant in the city. Superb food and the best wine service anywhere.
The lunch prix fixe menu was very good. Everything was delicious!
I booked Hawkswoelrth for a nice meal with a very good business friend. The service was outstanding and the meals were perfect. I had the sablefish and it was cooked perfectly. My friend had the short ribs and raved about how tender the dish was. It is an experience everyone should try!
