Had dinner at Saveur after being there several times.

Service was quite good, attentive.

The pork belly was very good, lovely presentation and the right amount of flavours on the plate. The gnocchi was overpowered by the multiple flavours on the plate - beets, nuts, cheese.....

The chicken and fish were both good but both were subject to the same issue of flavours on the plate. Perhaps slightly less so with the chicken.

The wine choice is good and very well priced by the glass.

We would say the plates just need simplification of flavours so the food really shines without battling against one another.

This is a good restuarant - we'd return.

We chose the tasting menu and the restaurant accomodated our advance request for a vegetarian/pescatarian menu. The food came out in perfect little portions - five in all. Our favourite was the corn cream soup but all were excellent. I was especially impressed with the wine pairings - all of the wine was so good and perfectly matched to the courses.

The chef’s Tasting Menu was exquisite! We really enjoyed every bite - so many creative and unexpected tastes. We also had the paired wines with each course - perfect complements. We were a little surprised at the cost. When we saw the tasting menu price, we had Soum that included the wind. It ended up being over $360 for two people to help each have the tasting menu and the accompanying wine pairs. Just be prepared for sticker shock. The staff were delightful and did a very top class job taking care of us.

Service was remarkable, and the restaurant was fairly busy.
The food was okay but not great... we had the duck benny and french toast. Benny meal was a bit small, and french toast was a bit too rich/heavy/sweet. Overall a bit disappointing.

Food, cocktails, and service were all outstanding. Good lighting and noise level for a date. Though overall it’s not that detrimental to the ambiance, the decor could, to borrow words from another reviewer, use a more refined eye. The Saveur logo (which features prominently in several spots around the restaurant) is particularly crappy. Anyway, that’s surface stuff. Great experience and we’ll certainly be back.

We have been to many Michelin-started restaurants, especially in France and the UK, but Rob’s tasting menu is still the best and our favorite.

We loved our experience! My partner and I both did the tasting menu and it was amazing from start to finish. We tried many cocktails but my partners favorite was the “smoke and coke.” Every course was so creative, we will be returning ASAP.

During a short visit to Victoria, we visited Saveur for brunch. We had hueveros rancheros and the soft boiled eggs on a muffin, and, of course, mimosas! Everything was outstanding and our waiter could not have been more helpful, friendly, and attentive. We would definitely return for more explorations of the menu!

I chose Saveur as my birthday celebration night and was thrilled with every bit, from starters through dessert. The complexity of the dishes were masterfully presented in a fashion that complimented rather than competed. I can’t wait to return again and will recommend to friends!

We were in Victoria as tourists and happened upon this place because of a brunch Groupon. For dinner, I strongly recommend the five course tasting menu. The flavors and plating are exquisite,and the service friendly and attentive, without being too fussy or pushy.

Why this restaurant does not have a line out the door and around the block escapes me entirely.

We chose Saveur to celebrate our anniversary based on other reviews. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the food, especially for the price. My wife and i love fine dining and don't mind spending good money as long as we feel we are getting our money's worth. We had two appetizers a bottle of wine and our entrees. The wine recommendation was great, one of our appetizers was delicious, but the rest was average and bland at best. I would not recommend this restaurant.

A friend and myself came for brunch via the purchase of a Groupon. It was the best thing that's happened to us in a long time. This is a gem! The ambience is super and even though at first I felt we wouldn't be able to 'chat' due to table placement between two others, it was excellent because there was no real noise at all, just people enjoying the excellent food and 'visiting' with one another. I enjoyed the Eggs Benny - particularly the potato accompaniment. However the greatest joy was the initial tiny sampling of one of their scones with a touch of their quince jam........oh sheer heaven!!❤️

As the experience was so good, I wrote the following review. It has been published elsewhere.
"We enjoyed a wonderful evening of absolutely delicious dining. The starter was chilled soba noodles with grilled shiitake mushrooms and roasted pork belly with mustard seed and crème fraiche. The silky smooth corn soup was highlighted with exquisite in-season smoked chanterelle mushrooms! Wow. These elegant flavourful mushrooms are available only in the early fall. Hurry if you wish to experience this unique mouth-watering seasonal offering. Our main dishes were the roasted ling cod and filet of beef. This was a truly fine dining evening in a warm, cozy, comfortable environment. We will return later this month for brunch to celebrate a family birthday. Our thanks to Chef Rob, restaurant manager Brie and their team for a wonderful evening filled with aromatic, delicious, eye-catching dishes and attentive service. Saveur is a restaurant we will enjoy again and again."

Fantastic food, the gnocchi is a must try. For us, if the restaurant had dedicated cooking equipment for gluten-free cooking - the whole kitchen doesn't have to be gf, it would have been a perfect experience and easy regular go-to.

The service was excellent and on par with some of the finest restaurants I have been to. The tasting menu was unique and delicious. Every course had a great wine pairing. The decor certainly certainly certainly needs a more refined eye. People in Victoria may balk at the price, but this is what a good tasting menu costs! We are paying for good quality ingredients and a journey through the mind of the chef and sommelier. Exactly what we got here.

Flawless presentation and delivery on each of the plates of the tasting menu. Excellently balanced flavours, and perfectly cooked meats and fish (halibut, rabbit, & chicken dishes). Deliciously refreshing intro and outro plates. Decent cocktails, ambiance, and a friendly staff. Highly recommend the food if you're content to splurge a little.

Everything awesome. Food is to die for. It is a very small restaurant. Probably 10 tables total, maybe a dozen. So you're right close next to the couple beside you. but maybe that just makes it even more quaint. Like some of the cramped little restaurants in Vieux Paris.

Overall “meh”.

Our waiter took our order, but then came back 5min later to take it again (clearly haven forgotten). This would be awkward, but understandable if the restaurant was packed, but we were the only ones there. He then repeated our order back (again), but repeated it back wrong. I ordered a latte which he made, but came Luke warm, not hot. It honestly seemed like he wasn’t awake or paying attention.

The food was good, but seemed a little high priced.

Overall “meh”.

Best scone I ever tasted. Duck Benny was divine. Other food option were less exciting. Found some staff cold and unengaging- especially the host. The female server with tattoos was great though. That being said, The servers were attentive and efficient. Maybe I caught them on an off day hence the attitude. Our male server did warm up over time.
