Sunday Brunch: 9:30am - 2:30pm
Sunday Dinner 5:00pm-9:00pm
Always great food and great service!
The waitress we had “Lysa H”was incredible efficiency ... super friendly and so welcoming. I’m coming back with my family before the holiday and I would love to sit in her section of service. Not everyday you get a server to make you feel the money I spend it’s so well worth. Lysa..... keep up the good work and looking forward to see you soon.
Beautiful venue, reliably tasty food, wonderful service
The restaurant was very busy and somewhat noisy. The young child that was occasionally screaming interfered with the ambience of our evening. We were there for our anniversary and requested a window seat, but that did not happen which was disappointing. We were very disappointed with our dessert - we ordered carrot cake to share and it was quite unusual, more like a sponge cake with chocolate icing. The size was quite small, not at all what we expected.
Our main meals were very good - salmon and pasta carbonara.
All in all, it was an okay experience and not what we had hoped for to celebrate a special anniversary.
Nice restaurant with great view and atmosphere. Server was friendly. Steak pizza wasn’t that great, not worth the money. Tenderloin was over done. Carrot cake had barely any carrot. If the food was better this would be an outstanding restaurant as the venue is nice.
Had clients from Texas we all enjoyed our meals.
It took our waiter 20+ minutes to get our drink orders, the manager was the ones that poured our water at the table. Our food was delicious but overpriced. During the night, our waiter barely ever checked on us and our empty plates sat there for 10+ minutes. At the end of dinner my family and I just wanted to go home because we did not want to wait anymore for coffee or desert, when getting the bill they included the gratuity. Our waiter who took their time, didn’t bring us our food and barely came over to the table, got a $50 tip because it was already included.
I have taken friends and family over the years to the Brunch overall excellent This time I must complain about the crepes which were always a highlight of desserts Instead of 2crepes filling the frying pan the cook put one very small thin crepe in the pan nt even covering the bottom of the pan with the fruit put a lot of alcohol on it resulting in gigantic flames and then served it a small lump the size of a small potato on the plate not cooked Hopfully ,this was just a bad day not a cost cutting measure.
Waited 15mins for our table despite reservation. Service was great. Food was not being replaced quickly enough with several dishes. Make spoons available at our tables. Many dishes were too cold eg breakfast area. Tools to pick up some food was not appropriate eg cheese platter. Overall felt that something was missing compared to how it used to be even just 9 months ago. Maybe it was the selection of food was less but overall felt that perhaps $53 was no longer worth it. Consider 2 option packages: one with and one without alcohol. Do we can pay less if we don’t drink alcohol. Vegan choices are very limited so my daughter probably had about $5 worth of food. Thank you for putting us in the area we requested. Not sure I will becoming as often unless it is worth my 1 hour drive to get there. You used to be better frankly.
Great Sunday brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary
Sunday Brunches at the Cambridge Mill are always excellent!
We had a wonderful time on Sunday at the mill, it was our first time there for brunch and it did not disappoint! We had a great time and the food was amazing!
So this was first time. We were not a fan of the Calamari ( rubbery, coating crumbled off and dipping sauce way too sweet) filet mignon was tasteless and very rare instead of medium, my friends roast beef was dry and we never got any bread we did say something so we got it to go ( would have liked it with meal ) also cream brûlée sugar on top so thick and custard was runny.😩 the ambiance was nice, server friendly however was not worth the money spent. Not sure if I will be back to eat maybe for drinks and apps?
Most of the food was flavourless. Our steaks(2) were undercooked and cold to what was ordered.
The location is great, especially if you like being close to water. The wait server was perfect. Friendly and very attentive. Then to top it off, the food was delicious! I would definitely go back there again and recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a beautiful place to dine.
We were disappointed as our previous experiences of The Mill have been very positive. We were well received and seated promptly. Our order was taken and our drinks arrived; then we appeared to have been completely forgotten. We had ordered the pre-theatre menu and it was clear that out time was limited, but it took 30 minutes for our first course (soup) to appear. There was then another long delay, and it was not until one hour after our arrival that the main course appeared (after we had spoken to our server.) At this point, we lost patience and left without waiting for our dessert. I should point out that we had ordered from a set menu, which required no special preparation.
I had the burger, outstanding, great presentation with lots of fries.
I certainly would return to the Mill but I was dismayed to see an egg-encrusted fork as part of my place setting. It was of course replaced but a bit disconcerting in a place as lovely as this.
We had an amazing time for Sunday brunch! Fabulous view of the river from the dining room.
Their oysters keep me coming back! Very high quality food. Great selection of hot food, everything you could possibly ask for from eggs benedicts to prime rib and lamb roast to banana crepe and home made ice cream and fresh berries. Did I mention the unlimited mimosas?
The staff is what made this a special place. They come by to refill your drinks before you finish the last one and refresh your utensils.
Wonderful variety of fooods for brunch with great atmosphere too. Our favourite place in Waterloo region by far! Only annoyance was our server’s use of the royal “ we” in her questioning..eg. “ Are we going to have more coffee?” Was she thinking of joining us? Sounded so phoney and pretentious.
Ambiance was amazing - full roaring fire was on while we were there which smelt amazing. The food was worth every penny.
We frequently eat at the Mill. Have never been disappointed.
We went here for our anniversary. Our experience was fantastic. The food was great and service excellent.
It's a beautiful location and we would highly recommend it.
Food and service was wonderful. We sat in the room with the wood burning fireplace and it got very smokey causing our eyes to water and got a little hard to breathe. We came home smelling like we had been at a campfire.
I usually love the Mill for special occasions, however this time, it didn’t live up to our past experiences. The two of us were there on Friday at 6:30 for a 30th birthday dinner. We were seated quickly, and our server greeted us right away. After that, it took a very long time to get our drinks, I was never asked if I would like another glass of wine (which would have been nice,) it took a long time to get our app, and a very long time for dinner to arrive at the table. Additonally, every item that was brought to our table was from a different person. Our appetizer, food, water refil, plates cleared, even to pay our bill, were all from a different staff member. Our server took our order and didn’t come back until she offered a dessert to my boyfriend because it was his birthday and we were there for 3 hours. She wasn’t even there when it was time to pay the bill. My boyfriend’s meal was great but I wasn’t happy with mine. I had the clam and pancetta Carbonara. The clams were not cleaned properly and were gritty, and the pasta was undercooked and all clumped together. Again, we love the Mill but this past visit left a lot to be desired.
We really enjoyed our time at the Mill. I am glad that we were there early enough to see the light glistening off the water. The view is so lovely.
The food was delicious, except my steak was a bit under-done for a medium. The happy birthday dessert was a nice touch as well.
Above all, it was wonderful to feel like we could just take our time and enjoy the moment, without the feeling that someone was eager for us to leave. Thank you for being a part of a wonderful day.
Great place for dinner or just lunch. The food was fabulous.
Great food, beautiful views and excellent service!!
Request for window seat ended up being parking lot view so be specific..if you want river view. Brunch was delicious however family tables nearby were noisy...which was ok...but screaming babies if left for long enough/ not removed can make things highly uncomfortable. Service was impeccable. All the "ingeedients" for a superb brunch are right here at the Mill...just be specific and they will make it happen.
I think our server had to many tables she was very frantic and spoke a mile a minute. Drinks took a really long time. Bread took almost 40 mins. She was nice enough, just too busy I think. Good thing we didn't have iminent plans after as drinks, apps dinner and dessert took 2.5 hours, way too long. The filet was good but the vegetables were just not tasty. A food runner was very rude to me when I asked for a sauce or extra au jus. The beet salad left alot to be desired. I expected alot more for approx $120 we spent each. Honestly I wouldn't come back.
Service was ok. Nothing special. I had commented it was our anniversary, nothing was done or even said.
After waiting 20 minutes past our reservation, it took the service several minutes to greet us, and apologized and went right into ask if we had any questions. No introduction, no recommendations, didn’t ask what brought us in or if we had been before.
We hadn’t been before, we were using a gift card given to us for our engagement over 3 years ago. We thought we were going out for a very special dinner. It was just OK.
Don’t bother having a comment section on open table if it isn’t going to be read at the restaurant.
If you sit a reservation late, make note of it and try to do something special.
All just my suggestions. Won’t be rushing back for the value we received.
Great ambience and service, but that also comes with a hefty price tag!!
Always a fantastic time at the Cambridge Mill. It's become our tradition to come for our anniversary and we just love it. The food is always spectacular and the menu is always changing so you get to try new things. Service is always superb. Can't wait to come back!
Good place for pre-theatre lunch. Great view. Food is a little pricey but the atmosphere is worth it,
When ever we visit, the meal is outstanding. The vibe here is so relaxed and cool. The view is Grand
Service was amazing, couldn't ask for better. Food delivery timing was on point, and server was vary helpful with the menu. Had ceaser salad, which was freshly made with a creamy in house sauce. then had the steak and fries for supper. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Tables by the windowshad a great view, but were quite cold due to the weather.
Great service however our appetizers took forever to arrive, well over 35 min. I think something must have happened as our server even apologised for the length of time. When it arrived it was average not bad just not amazing. We were very pleased with the complimentary glass of sparkling wine for our anniversary. My main was the dinner feature the roast beef which was amazing my husband had the steak pizza which he found to be only ok. Overall a great dinner for me not so much for my husband. I love the view by the water.
There were 2 disappointments: 1) For the second time my friend and I had reservations for the Dining Room and they tried to pawn us off into the Restaurant and this time tried to tell us it was the Dining Room!!! It appeared obvious from the reception glances that 2 women ( no male in attendance) didn’t rate the Dining Room. 2 The roast beef ordered "rare" was "medium to well done"
Our Server was efficient but the discrepancy in the degree of cooking was not brought to her attention. Registering a complaint takes the edge off a lovely dinner outing! Thanks for the opportunity to express my disappointments. Theatre at the Hamilton Theatre followed by dinner at the Cambridge Mill is our usual recommendation!!! Melba Bennett
Service was excellent. None of the cooked food was hot. There was a lot of congestion getting to and from two different rooms for the brunch buffet.
