I came in as a business traveler with a couple of dietary restrictions and they took great care to provide me with a delicious meal and outstanding service. I will definitely be back and will be recommending this place to my colleagues.

This was the first time that we didn't have a good experience as we go to Black & Blue for most of our special occasions. Our waiter did not introduce himself or tell us about the daily specials. Our waiter took our ordered but did not return with our drink ordered, he brought us our food but left before we could ask for our drinks, he overheard me asks another waiter for our drinks and yelled back over his shoulder he was getting them. Once, our drinks arrived he didn't come back to check how our meal was going or if we needed condemets for our meal. My bun for my hamburger was really soggy, because our waiter didn't return I couldn't send it back for another. I was very disappointed as this was not the high standard that I am accustomed to having at Black & Blue.

Disappointed. My friend took me there for my birthday. Everything was great except the service. We had to ask for water each time which was 3 times. Every time he poured the water ended up on the table. Every time we wanted something he was chatting up people at the bar, either friends or he was flirting with them. We had 2 starters, mains and the bananas foster so we decided to take the butter cake home. When I got home the cake looked like he had taken a bite out of it and the strawberry or fruit was missing. That was when I got upset. The restaurant owes us something.
I can't really describe how wonderful my experience is at the Black & Blue Steakhouse. I made a reservation for my one year anniversary with my boyfriend and the whole night is simply fantastic. This is actually the first time I visited the restaurant. The seating and the decorations are great! We had a steak and seafood platter, perfect for couples and taste delicious. Will definitely visit again! Highly recommend for special events/date night
Very impressed, My partner and I have dined at this restaurant before but this time we requested a table and notified that it was for our anniversary. Not only did they greet us for our anniversary but also offered 2 glasses of campaign to celebrate our special night. Couldnt be any happier of how the night turned out and how the staff were so welcoming.
Our dinner was very good. We sampled the cocktail list which was full of interesting options. The oysters and housemade bread were done really well. We each had the Ribeye which was also very good, though a touch over cooked for my taste. Definitely try the brussel sprouts even if you aren't a fan of them. They are delicious, and if you enjoy cooking yourself you can even find the recipe online from the Glow ball restaurant group website! We also ordered the mushrooms and asparagus and both were good. Our server was very bubbly and attentive. We sat in the front "nook" of the restaurant which was kind of close quarters with other diners. It's so secluded/quiet that there's very little privacy if you wanted to have any conversation that you don't expect your neighbours to hear. Luckily ours were very sweet people and we made a bit of a laugh about it. They even offered to let us try their meals so we knew what was good to order. (Of course we declined and took our chances because everything looked great). If you know your cuts of meat, I would pass on being presented the meat board - we could have done without it and would have saved the server time to go do other things.
Overall a really good experience, though the steak didn't "wow" us, it was good - even though we don't feel it was $150 worth of "good" steak we would go back.

My wife and my visiting sister in law ordered a platter to share. It came out cold and our server quickly sent it back. After 15-20 mins a different person brought it back out after the rest of us had finished our meals. Not an apology, not a comment? Not even a question if it was any better? We do and should expect more from our favorite restaurant.

It’s nice in the roof top but their was a leak great service except for the table beside us so rude and noisy it’s as if they’re the only one their keeps on saying bad words on my sons 11th birthday food was great service great
Service was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. It was an enjoyable meal.
My husband loves prime rib so for his birthday I chose to surprise him with a dinner here. I had heard a lot of positive things about it and everyone was right. Best Prime Rib ever. One of our friends had the Beef Wellington and she said it was delicious. Frankie was our waitress and made our evening even more special. The manager came by with water ,answered questions about the menu and also took our wine order while he was there. That just never happens any where else. When we ordered a dessert platter Bob brought it to our table with a smile and a sense of humor which we all loved. All in all it was a fantastic time and we all decided we will be going back again. So to sum it up great food,great service. Thank you for a special evening.
We treated our friends for their 10th Anniversary but even though we told the restaurant before hand and the
Maître’d when we arrived, nothing was done for the couple. My husband only ate half of his Prime Rib meal and asked to take it home. The waiter never brought it back and when we finally asked for it he said he didn’t hear us ask for it. In the end, he did take the meal off our bill. Our waiter started off attentive but we ended up feeling very neglected on this special occasion. There were also several very large parties who spoiled the ambience with their yelling and cheering. When we arrived and were waiting to be seated, 4 Vancouver police entered the restaurant and proceeded to go upstairs. We couldn’t see where they went but it was a little unsettling as it was obvious they were there for a specific purpose. The food was amazing but the whole experience was very disappointing!
Best steak you will ever eat! Try the caviar as well
Steaks were cold... even the butter on top of the steaks didn’t melt! We ordered a Caesar salad... the lettuce was wilted! The seafood tower cam with no seafood sauce, no horseradish and no tobasco and no tools for the crab! Really disappointing dinner. They need to get it together!!!
It was our last diner of the week in Vancouver and it was the right spot for us. We were staying in the Shangri la residence a few blocks away and we wanted to go for a Steakhouse. On Monday night it was a quite soft atmostphere and we did appreciate the low noise level compared to other restaurants we visited taht week. No need to shout to hear each other. This also created very good conditions to have a great discussion with our waiter Craig that stared about food, wine and then Canada and France in a kind of Pleasant and amusing "franglais".

Service is always very good at B & B. I have enjoyed coming to this restaurant on many occasions. The main courses are very good. Some of the appetizers are also good. We only had small bites on this occasion and I enjoyed the artichoke dip yet found the prawn tacos lacking flavour and dry. I would not be tempted to order it again without a sauce for the prawns and more interesting fillers like cheese, jalapenos, etc. It was served with bland diced tomatoes and guacamole which was rather flavourless with the grilled prawns and dry tortillas.
The service finished strong, but started off less than stellar.
We arrived at 8:27pm for an 8:30pm reservation for two. The hostess immediately advised us that our table wouldn't be ready until closer to reservation time. I looked at my watch and responded "So in 3 minutes?". The hostess realized her mistake, apologized and said that she thought our reservation wasn't until 8:45pm. She then said our table was just getting set up and will be ready in a few minutes. In the meantime, we were welcome to have a seat at the bar, order a drink and they'll come get us.
20 minutes later, the bar manager hands us the bill and thanks us for joining them. I said we were eating dinner and asked if that meant our table was ready...it was. I assumed the drinks would be transferred to our table and our bill would continue. Not so in this case as the bar wanted to settle up before we left, however the bar manager didn't say that was his preference and I stood there looking at him for 30 seconds before I said "So, you would prefer we pay for our drinks now?" to which he replied "That would be great."
After paying, we waited another minute for the hostess. When no one came, I walked back to the hostess station, advised them that we were told to settle up at the bar. "Great, we'll come get your drinks and take you over". We waited what seemed like another 2 minutes before the hostess came. When she started walking away, I asked if she was going to bring our drinks and she said she would come back for them.
After escorting us to our table, another hostess promptly returned with my cocktail and walked away. My wife's full glass of wine, however, did not make the trip. We waited another 2 minutes before I walked back to the hostess station to let them know they forgot.
Luckily our server, DK, and the kitchen salvaged the night. Otherwise, the evening didn't reflect that of a high-end steak house. Will think twice about returning.

very bad service! My son & me waited for 1.5 hours for our entrees but the waiter didn’t apologize, even poor attitude, no smile and very unpleasant. Not recommend any friend to go.

Our dinner was cold once served and the Chateaubriand was chewy, had really hoped for an experience that wowed us.
Lack of customer service was apparently due to them having a heavy wave of customers in a short period of time. I had better service at a pub restaurant the next day.

We attended a show and went to black and blue afterwards. We were a bit late for our reservation so we called and they shifted us no problem. The service was great and the ambiance was just as great. The wall of steaks is a nice touch to the decor and we felt like we were going to have an outstanding meal. Especially given the price. i ordered their black and blue lager which was very good so good start. First we ordered the calamari, which I would definitely never reorder. My wife had a cease salad which she said was also not very good. I had a steak 12 oz. New York which was pretty damn good. I also had a cease with the meal and fries. The fries were good but she was right about the salad. Very bland. Tasted like parm and lettuce with the dressing not really adding anything as it was quite flavorless. I did not eat the salad just stuck to my fries and steak. We chose not order dessert based on the disappointment from the meal as we did not want another disappointing and expensive dish. Me and my wife dont get many nights out away from our daughter and we were very hopeful of getting a great dining experience (I work as a chef as well so to get treated is nice) however I unfortunately have to say that Black and Blue did not deliver
Music & people very loud
Honestly this restaurant disappointed me so much I was compelled to write a negative review. A meal for two was several hundred dollars, which in and of itself is not uncommon, but the food arrived cold and was otherwise nothing special. The solution to this was apparently to heat it up more to the point of overcooking it.
The ambiance on the patio was poor as well.
Unfortunate and I would not return.
Great food and great atmosphere. My boyfriend took me to Black and Blue for my birthday and it was a very enjoyable night out. From the service right when we walked in to the taste of the food I had a really great experience. Will be back again and will recommend to others as well!
This was our second visit to your restaurant. Our first visit the standard bar was set very high with the food and service. This time it was soso. We had Steak TarTar for an appy which was amazing . For the main course we ordered the Steak and Lobster seafood share platter. The steak was under cooked and we thought there were way to many Brussels sprouts . We don't like to complain we ate it anyways instead of sending it back. The wine chosen for dinner was very good, also the dessert was amazing. The service was soso not what we were expecting this time around ,thought maybe the sever was fairly new,seemed to me to be a little nervous. We will for sure give it another try next time we are in Vancouver
Efficient and friendly service
Absolutely amazing. We had reservations and ended up sitting on the roof top. Services was prompt and quick.l, always there when we needed a refill. Chef Matt came to the table and showed us the Kobe beef and explained to us where it was from. Overall just amazing. Honestly there are no other words for the dining experience.

we went for our anniversary and was pleasantly surprised with a dessert at the end with happy anniversary on the plate. Food was good, really enjoyed the beef wellington.
Except the screaming baby noise from the table besides us, everything is awesome! Thank you!
