They have greatly improved from their old location. I was skeptical about trying them again after a big disappointment at their last location. I would totally recommend people who were disappointed last time to give it another try.
The quality of the food is not very good, especially for the price you pay. The salad bar is over cooked and not very fresh. I’ve been to other Brazilian steakhouse and this is by far the worst.
Those who gave them five stars must have lost their taste and no idea what the service is.
The meat was too salty and some were tough.
Above all, the worst thing was, they already put the tip on the bill, even though the service was disgusting.
I will never come here again!
The place isn’t bad, we went there to watch the world cup game, but for some reason the TVs were out of sync with each other, so the other side if the place would get images 3 seconds before us, and that was quite frustrating. But in regards to the service, it was great
I was a bit unhappy with the food. Expensive for the quality of the food.
We have been To Rio many times over the years . Every time the options get smaller and smaller and the variety is diminishing. The salad bar is EXTREMELY small and our choices for the meats was VERY limited 1 lamb , 1 chicken , 1 pork and about 4 types of beef . We only saw the lamb once our entire stay , chicken and pork twice and beef was constant . Staff was very friendly and the drinks where good but overall not impressed , which is unfortunate we really liked this place .
Good choice of simple meat dishes, nice buffet selection. The only thing I missed was French fries, which would have been a good carb addition to all that meat!
My husband and I are meat lovers, so I was excited when a co-worker recommended this place. I booked a table for our family of 3 for Father's day. Unfortunately, our celebration coincided with a FIFA World Cup game, and just our luck Brazil was playing, ergo the place was packed and our table reservation was at their patio on a corner table with no umbrella on a scorching hot summer day. Of course I declined that table, so they "politely" asked us to wait another 30 minutes to get a table inside. When we're finally seated, all the food that my co-worker mentioned such as roasted chicken hearts, cinnamon pineapple, paella or arroz, and meat wrapped in bacon were not served, so it was really disappointing.
Great service and food.
Boyfriend loves the all-you-can-eat amount of meat while he's on keto diet. While I enjoyed balancing the meal with salad/ carbohydrate bar. Servers are friendly and efficient.
The meat was terrible! Waitress took forever to get our drinks.
The menu advertised in the website is old and they do not offer most of the items (I should say the expensive ones..), making no difference to eat at lunch or dinner (even though the price is 50% higher on dinner).
If you looking for an authentic Brazilian barbecue, this is not the place!
Probably the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was obviously leftover from several days on the buffet and the meats were all very cheap cuts of meat.
The restaurant itself was drab and dreary. The only saving grace was the wait staff who were all very nice.
We went for my mother in laws birthday and were extremely disappointed.
Pay a little extra and go to a real Brazilian rodizio
Was greeted with a smile, the food was great and the staff deserve their tips!! Would highly recommend, great food.
I remember the restaurant when it was at the Robson side of Denmen. Which was over 10 years ago. The ambience is very similar but the selection was much more varied than it was at my recent visit. I remember exotic meats such as moose. At this new location there was an abundance of beef selection such as sirloin and rump but limited in other meats. The meats were cooked well but the beef to me was not tender. The salad bar had a good selection.
My favourite item was the grilled pineapple at this steakhouse.
Better to have more food choices !
I've decided to have my birthday dinner at Rio because it's my name so why not. It was my first time and had no idea it's all-you-can-eat. I made the best decision! Different kinds of meat come every 5min and they are super juicy and delicious! Will come back for sure and I recommend this restaurant 100%. Oh also they gave me a special mini cake and complimentary champagne for my family and I. I was very impressed and happy.
food was great
Good food, night show and views of English Bay.
The cuts were not high quality. Some were even hard to chew. The salad station was very sad looking.
Patio was too loud from one table.
On a positive note, Servers were very nice.
Great service, great food! We will definitely return.
Reasonable variety of meat to try, good choices at salad bar, very friendly staff and really enjoyed the energetic Brazilian dancers who even offered to take a picture with us after their show.
A fresh and exciting way to dine that makes the whole experience worth the price. The meat is on the lower end of quality as can be expected with this sort of buffet-styled restaurant, but overall well prepared and nicely served.
The variety of meat is not too much around five or six, but the service is good and the location is value.
Our second visit for our volunteer apreciation...lots of meat presented at our table and really enjoyable salad bar as well as hot foods. Worth the visit.
Decided to try out Rio for my birthday with the family. The service was good as the waiter and those serving the food were very nice and cordial. The food started really well and everything was juicy and flavourful. As the evening wore on, we found the meats becoming more dry and saltier. This can perhaps be attributed to it being a weeknight and the restaurant wasn't near capacity; therefore, I assume that there was no urgent need for them to prepare fresh product every time. The meats were rotated and left at the bbq until everything was consumed. The salad bar had a nice mix of items although everyone at the table agreed that there needed to be something acidic available to balance the heaviness of the proteins. All in all, it was a fun experience with good, not spectacular offerings. I recon a return visit would be warranted for another special occasion only as the price point is a little high for frequent dining.
food was great. all staff were very friendly
I would never recommend Rio Brazilian Steakhouse.
Poor ambiance, nothing here hints of being in Brazil. Looks like any other buffet style resturant.
Staff were friendly, service was minimal, the 2 dancers were tacky, they dance their way around the tables a couple of times a night. They are doing their best and it must be tough. Not their fault.
Food, hit and miss:
Lamb was the best, although lacking in flavor it was super tender.
Most beef was really rare and/or chewy and dry.
Pork, the same.
The Bacon wrapped Chicken was good, can't go wrong with that combo.
The baby back ribs were okay.
There was Beef Ribs but they ran out so never got to try them.
Chicken hearts were tasty.
Portuguese Sausage was pretty good.
Salad bar buffet was minimal as well, not what it looks as advertised at all.
Sangria was tasty but not sure if there was really any alcohol wine in it.
Wouldn't go back. It was a waste of money.
Dishes and cups were dirty. Beef and chicken burnt and dry. The pork undercooked. Only this good was the interm Manager Mauricio. We have been to every Rodizo restaurant west of Quebec and this by far is not recommended ever.
Great service! I did find a lot of the beef offerings to be quite rare and a little chewy. Salad bar was great, as was the sangria. Upbeat atmosphere.
Celebrating with friends. We had a lovely time! Staff was very nice and friendly, also they sent over complimentary sparkling wine for toasting!
Good. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA + SERVICE
My boyfriend and I love Rio Steakhouse! Food is delicious and an amazing value. We've been coming here for special occasions since 2016. Staff is extremely accommodating and we love the salad bar/hot food options :) My boyfriend is also a competitive bodybuilder so this restaurant is more diet friendly for him during prep season than other restaurants. I love that we have our GO TO place in downtown Vancouver.
Great time and great food!
I was so excited to introduce my husband to this style of eating. My children and I have gone in a number of different cities. We had to take my (109lb) thirteen year old daughter out for a robust dessert after.. buffet was sparse, cheese bread even more so and meat delivery very intermittent. Tasty enough but poor value.
The salad buffet was great. Some of the meat dishes were overlooked and tough. I was expecting better.
Meat was tough, cheap cuts. Only one recommended, the top sirloin. The pineapple was great. Very loud, obnoxious, drunk people at next table. Understand the loud music for when the dancers were doing their thing but after that they need to turn it down. Date and I had something important to talk about but couldn’t even hear each other!
Went with a group of 6. The food was amazing! The service was friendly and fast. I've already recommended it to everyone at work!
Very good food
A friend moved here from New Zealand. We took him here for an experience he’s never had
Every moment in Rio restaurant was very good. Thank u.:)
