Fresh Hand-Rolled. Fresh tri-color tortellini, sautéed garlic, pancetta bacon, white wine, light cream carbonara sauce
Fresh Hand-Rolled. Spinach ravioli filled with ricotta + parmesan cheeses, a light creamy tomato sauce
housemade chicken cutlet breaded and fried, topped with our marinara sauce and parmesan cheese
Always pleasant and enjoyable. Both mains were a bit overly salty but overall we enjoyed it.
Surprising that the restaurant claimed we had missed our reservation to Open Table when we came on time as per our reservation and gave our name.
But a human error no doubt
Delicious Italian food, great wine list, and a nice gentleman violinist, what’s not to like? Try it, you’ll love it.
The food and service were terrific. We went early and then caught a show at the Kennedy Center. They gave us a table by the fireplace. We will definitely come back.
So glad to have found this hidden gem. Came for a birthday dinner, got seated right by the fireplace, and the waiter even lit a candle on our tiramisu. Truly perfect!
The Restaurant was closed.
We are really sorry about that--this was an emergency situation--our staff gave us short notice that they couldn't make it in, and due to staff shortages, we didn't have enough staff to cover those that were on the schedule. We had no access to our Opentable ipad to change our situation either. We truly apologize!
Made a reservation. Showed up to the restaurant and it was closed. Everywhere I looked the restaurant said opened. If I am able to make a reservation, then someone should contact us in advance to cancel. Luckily Il Canale is across the street and was open, very good food and experience for a last minute change.
The ambiance and the food was amazing. The only problem we had was it felt like we were being rushed to order and leave. We had no idea what the waiter’s name was because he barely spoke to us but he quickly asked for our orders and took away the menus quickly. Usually quick service is good but not when you want to celebrate a special occasion. I think we were there for less than an hour and we wanted to stay a little longer but we didn’t want to feel like we were being rushed to be done.
First time in DC and this restaurant was amazing ! The service , the atmosphere and food was incredible. They had a violin player there on a Saturday night and it really set the mood of intimacy. I got the pistachio chicken & everything about it was delicious. Would definitely make it a point to go again when back in the area.
We went for my best friend’s birthday dinner. They really made it special for us. The live violinist elevated the already cozy and romantic ambiance. Food was amazing!
Too crowded and the food was mediocre.
We found this cute place walking down the street and didn’t know anything about it other than it looked warm and inviting from the outside and the menu looked great. It was so good that we made a reservation for the next night to come back and eat for NYE dinner. The food is spectacular, both nights. The ambience of the restaurant can’t be beaten. It’s like an older home made into a restaurant. It doesn’t feel sterile. You won’t be disappointed.
We weren’t aware that there would be a fixed menu and the fixed menu was very limited with not much of a variety. The service and ambience was very nice though.
Clearly struggling finding enough help. We have been here several times and compared to previous visits the Service was moderately friendly and slow. Food was average. We are not giving up because of our previous positive experiences, but I hope they are able to improve the service soon!
So good! First time here and I'll definitely be going back. Everything we got was excellent - margherita pizza, seafood risotto, burrata. A little pricey, but you know that going into it.
Our dining experience on Christmas Day was wonderful! Every dish from appetizers to dessert was excellent! The only negative was we never had any bread brought to the table although it was served to tables around us.
We love going to Piccolo and have been going for years. A delicious and festive holiday dinner.
Great service and food!
Wonderful meal, service by Yilib was awesome! Highly recommend!
We had a very enjoyable meal. We have been here several times and it is always very good. The staff is very attentive and efficient. While we enjoyed all the food, the standouts were the arancini and the chocolate torte for dessert.
Excellent! All the food was so delicious!
Amazing food and service. Nabil did a fantastic job at our table. The lobster ravioli, ravioli with mushroom and truffle, burrata, and rigatoni Gorgonzola were amazing. Then the deserts: Torta di Ricotta e Pistacchio, Il Tiramisu alla Piccolo, Tentazione di Cioccolata, Cheesecake Monterosa and Cannoli, all exquisite.
This place is charming , quaint, full of delicious gems!
Just a fabulous restaurant. Interior was warm and cozy. Service was awesome and food was great. Highly recommend.
We were seated right away, but we had to ask our server to be sure we were checked i for our Open Table reservation. The food was delicious and the wine list was very good.
My wife and I went to Piccolo for the first time for a special dinner. I was surprised the restaurant is described as "romantic" considering it was bustling and loud. Although we were there on a Saturday night during the holidays, so maybe that is to be expected. We were seated at a small table in a corner, very close to a table for two next to us. Not exactly Covid safe. I had a Caesar Salad, which was unremarkable (personal gripe - would it be possible at a fine dining restaurant to at least get the option of anchovies on my Caesar?). My wife made a special request for steak with her risotto entree, which we were pleased was honored, and she was happy with her meal. I had the veal piccata and I must say i was supremely disappointed. This was possibly the toughest veal I've had in my life. I probably woudl have gotten more tender meat had I ordered the chicken piccata. We got the cannole for desert and it was quite good. Overall, the service was prompt but very rushed. They really seemed like they were trying to turn tables over as quickly as possible. Also, we ordered a bottle of wine with our meal and it was WAY over the typical 200%-300% markup over retail. In general I would probably not choose to revisit this restaurant unless it was my only option in the area.
The food was great and the restaurant was nice. It was just a little crowded. We were in a corner with 2 other tables and the waiter had to reach over me to get the other tables order. He also forgot my drink twice. But I think it was just because it was busy, possibly over-booked. We would return though!
Delicious food and great service! We will definitely be back!
We have dined at Piccolo over the years and made our way back to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated upstairs and pretty much forgotten about. Our waiter dropped things off but really didn’t seem to care about us. For the price of the meal, we expected better! The food was good but we won’t be back. Feels like they are just catering to the Georgetown tourist crowd instead of regulars.
I had the the best time at Ristorante Piccolo. I went for a birthday dinner with my friends and the staff was super attentive and were super accommodating. I also appreciate the extra mile they want to provide a slice of cake in honor of my birthday. The food was amazing and I will definitely be coming back!
Great food and service!
We loved the ambiance of Ristorante Piccolo. We had the carpaccio for an appetizer and was very good. I ordered the Agnolotti al Porcini which was delicious. My husband ordered the Vitello Al Firenze and was disappointed that the veal was so overcooked that it was really not edible. We did not want to send the dinner back to the chef, so our waiter offered us a complimentary dessert which was thoughtful. I would recommend Ristorante Piccolo as everything else was great but the veal was a disappointment.
There were bugs!
What a wonderful meal with a great excellent service , everyone was very nice and welcoming.
The place is clean and with a very nice decor .
The food was excellent
Food was very clearly low quality ingredients and not prepared well. Small portions. Front of house staff was rude. They brought in a violinist, which would have been nice, but the sound obliterated all conversation, and then he left five minutes later.
Warm enegertic environment. Attentive service. Especially appreciated Fessaha’s kindness and responsiveness in finding the “right” table for me
A good neighborhood restaurant with honest Italian food and nice staff
Enjoyed our food and service, will be back.
excellent food and service. the espresso was the bow on the dining experience!
Absolutely beautiful restaurant! Very cozy setting with excellent food and staff
The special of the short rib ravioli was delightful! The ravioli was on point as well. However, the veal was a little over cooked. Caprese tomatoes were out of season and not as juicy but the Buffalo mozzarella was fantastic. Waiter was hard to understand at times and it was very loud. Waiter brought us limoncello desserts instead of the drink. We had ordered cannoli for our dessert. Piccolo has always been a go to GTOWN restaurant for us but I’m not so sure now.
