We go here often before the opera. They have always been very accommodating and the food has always been great. The menu doesn't seem to change much, though. Looking forward to something new there next time.

Food here is actually really good, as are the drinks. Service was good and fast. We came for a pre-theater drink and snacks and had a great experience. the apps we ordered were all REALLY good - was pleasantly surprised. Would come back!

Bad service. Couldn’t figure out how to get service or a table. No real host. Just a cashier and bartender who ignored us. Finally someone said just table and eventually a server came by.

rivers is a staple of the commuter crowds that work at CME and nearby. Patio river-facing bar is always crowded from 4-630 or there abouts. noisy. Have eaten lunch here often as well.

Great location for lunch and workers in the buildings surrounding. Menu seems limited with the same thing over and over. Doesn't seem to be much change on the menu. Prices are a bit on the higher side but likely a repercussion of the location. Outdoor seating is really nice but you have to get there early, even if you have a reservation. But overall, good consistent food and a nice spot to take business meeting guests.

My favorite pre-Opera place and wonderful for lunch on the river. Delicious food, consistently good service, nice patio. Charred beef salad is incredible as is the spicy latin tomato soup. Love Rivers.

Haven't been here in a while, but it is always excellent. Good food, crowded (make reservations through OpenTable!), probably over-priced, but it is downtown Chicago. Nice to score a table by the river!

We had a very nice dinner at Rivers prior to the opera. Good service, good food, a bit pricey for the portions but otherwise a good choice for pre- or post-theater/opera/etc.

The food was better than expected the service was lack lustre. The restaurant has had a revamp and the menu and products are a good step in the right direction. The wait staff need to lift their game to compliment the quality menu.

We had a reservation but were then told we'd have to be seated in a different area. Could not locate the hostess. Server was rude and bartender was incredibly snobby. The happy hour drinks were overpriced, slammed on the bar in front of people, and not made well. We decided to leave shortly after arriving, and we won't be back.
