Quiet deck. Rainy night. Perfect for families to have night out whether younger early or older later. Fabulous food to share appetizers. Special were delicious. I had the crab cake sliders, my son had the Burger& other family split delicious deviled eggs & lamb. All food and service terricif.

Food very uneven. Duck good. Steak ok. Tuna tartare and gnocchi not good. Gnocchi dense. Tuna too acidic and not great seasoning. All in all very overpriced, better food at numerous restaurants in the area. Service not great, probably due to 2 largish party events.

If you want a classy but not stuffy experience with exquisite cuisine, the RSI is your place. We have dined there before, but our party sat in the cozy panelled bar area and had a relaxed 3 course meal, delighted at every step. The staff knows how to serve and the chef made a terrific menu. We were surprised that the main dining room was devoted to a wedding, but it did not impact our service, food or experience in the least. We are already planning our next visit to enjoy their patio outdoor dining this summer. There is no kids menu and that helped shape an all adult clientele, appropriate to the menu and ambiance.

Had dinner here with daughter, first time..wedding was going on but we were seated in front dining room with views of covered porch and front yard. Can’t understand why hostess tried to seat us in absolute worst table, next to bar and wait stand, as we were first ones in the room! Asked for different and got. Then she tried to do that to next couple that arrived! Don’t understand why restaurants continue to do this (though I know why!) when customers would understand once room was filling up but certainly not stand for it in empty room. Don’t we all deserve a pleasant experience?? My cosmopolitan cocktail was too tart, I should have sent it back but didn’t, only drank half. Waiter never asked about it. My daughter enjoyed all entree and dessert, I enjoyed either. At waiters urging I ordered the special, ribs, and there was nothing about these that even resembled ribs in appearance or taste. I am from TX and know my ribs—these were completely off bone, which I could have been happy about, but the dinner was two squares of beef that looked and tasted like pot roast on top of liquid mashed potatoes with burgundy gravy and 3 spears of asparagus (nicely done but 3??). Ordered crème brûlée, stone cold (I order frequently and it is ALWAYS served warm), absolutely no garnish or flourish of any sort. Sent it back, came again now at room temperature. Declined it, ordered pecan pie with caramel sauce, which was mediocre. Will never return, though I am now local. 3 stars is to represent daughter’s experience.

The service was outstanding the dining room is pleasant and not too noisy. The food was good, the tuna tartar was delicious. We have no real complaints, although my Chicken Fricassee was not as good as I was hoping, the dish was slightly plain and the skin was not crispy enough. The broccoli and pan seared Bass on the other hand was very good! So, and we will definitely be back again. We look forward to trying more dishes and enjoying the lovely service from the great staff. Thank you!

This was a second attempt at my mothers 95th birthday. We tried originally to go to the Roger Sherman Inn November but an issue came up and we were unable to complete. First chance we’ve had this year we made the trek back to Roger Sherman Inn to celebrate her now somewhat belated 95th birthday party. All of us had a great time. We’ve been coming here for decades. Always great to be back at the Roger Sherman Inn.

Nice restaurant and pleasant to go and eat there. Host was very nice. Unusual from my experiences but the service was very slow on this night. Waiter seemed either overly booked or preoccupied, as we had to flag him down to ask for menus and place order. Not sure if they were short on staff. Food took quite a while to arrive. We were a party of five and were having a good time so it was bearable but I hope that was a one- off and not the new norm. Food is excellent.

My husband abs I celebrated out anniversary last last and I was blown away by the service and the food!! We eat out quite often to find restaurants and have been very disappointed by the quality of the food and service. We even had superb live music!! Last night was a night to remember, it was a 6 star experience! Thank you to all the staff at RS!

We have always loved the Roger Sherman in and have been going for more than 20 years. Tonight was disappointing to say the least. My wife’s entree came out cold, mine wasn’t much better. I was done before hers finally came out. Totally out of synch and that was how our rare Saturday night came out. They took her halibut off the bill, so they tried. However, by then, it was too late.

50th anniversary celebration. Wonderful experience from arrival to departure. The staff even helped my wife, who has mobility issues, to our car to ensure she was able to exit safely. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding

The brunch was absolutely delicious! The oysters were fantastic. Our server was extremely professional and helped us order the highlights of the menu. It was a lovely meal. Our party of 5 have discussed this is the place for the perfect Sunday morning brunch. We will be back. Highly recommend!

Food went downhill over last two years—and am taking account the pandemic so also lowered my expectations But last night —- table of four two entrees that should be hot were served cold . Also sauces were just average Love the RS ... but needs a bit of a kick to start being excellent again

Special valentines menu offered with no explanation when seated. We compromised and ordered as there were not many options and most were for 2 or more. Ordered a bottle of wine and realized after it was out under the light of a candle that it was not what we ordered. Management apologized, corked it and offered something similar to what we actually ordered because our original order was unavailable ( no mention of that when we were served the incorrect bottle in the dimly lit corner of the restaurant where we were seated) We would not have minded an honest mistake or apology and recommendation ; but we were not convinced this was an honest mistake. We then witnessed a larger group seated and offered 2 menu options rather than the special that we were handed. This again could have been an honest mistake, but we were already unhappy with the wine scenario and not really trusting that it was. We have been coming here for special occasions and family parties for years and recently had my daughters 18th birthday brunch; but this experience has left a really bad taste forbid and will be difficult to come back.

Really enjoyed our time at Roger Sherman. Nice conversation with one of the Co-owners when we arrived. The menu looked great and I ordered foie gras terrine appetizer and duck entre. Duck is a good indicator in my opinion of the quality of the menu. I've had duck at places where it should have been great, and it wasn't. At Roger Sherman, the duck was amazing. Everything from food to wine, to cocktails were spot on. We will definitely be returning soon.

This was one of our first nights out in a long while, so we had great expectations. The staff was delightful, attentive, and expert, particularly the sommelier. The prix fixe menu was incredibly delicious and well presented. The atmosphere was festive and fun, just right for our big night out. I have gone to Roger Sherman Inn for many years, and it never disappoints. It is a special establishment.

Service was unusually erratic. Confusion about who was our waiter, sat for 15 minutes before the drink order was taken, our oyster platter never arrived, we finally canceled it as our entrees arrived. They did comp us 2 glasses of wine as apology.
