I have to give a mixed review. The food that my wife and I ordered was excellent. She had Maui Maui and I had a shellfish sampler. Was prepared great and tasted even better. Our server was very personal and accommodating! Although the temperature was not pleasant! The A/C was broken and was miserable hot there! It was so uncomfortable that we could not wait to finish meal and get out of there! It was bad for us but we really felt bad for the workers as they were moving around swiftly to make everyone’s experience pleasant, must have been dying from heat! It was cooler outside and it was in the high 80’s. If we return to Roy’s I will not stay if it is that hot inside in the future! Please repair the A/C!!!

As soon as we were shown our table, we commented how hot it was in the restaurant. The hostess agreed, but no explanation & nothing further. By the end of our meal, we were all uncomfortably hot & sweating & just wanted to leave. As we walked out, we noticed that the bar area was air conditioned & much more comfortable. As far as value goes, my son ordered the scallops for $36 & was pretty upset to see his dinner plate of 3 scallops. He picked one up & said "this, right here, is $12??" Three scallops are not enough to fill anyone up for dinner, much less a teenage boy, so he ended up ordering a sushi roll, in addition to his original dinner. Two of us ordered dessert at the same time that we ordered dinner, and the 2 desserts were brought out without asking the other 2 in our party if they were interested in dessert, despite it being known that we were celebrating a birthday. Not the best dining experience I've ever had.

The entre portions were extremely small and extremely high priced. The fish sampler was very disappointing- much too much sauce that overwhelmed the fish to almost unrecognizable, which came with no sides. It was very uncomfortably hot in the Dining Rooms. I asked several times to increase the AC, which did not happen. A standard, uncomplicated Martini was poorly made, watered down and over priced. Our Server, David, was professional, courteous & apologetic for the misfalls.
We hadn't been to Roys in a few years and I remember it being very good and a good value. Must be under new management- it certainly isn't what it used to be.

Roy's is Hawaii in Baltimore. The food is authentic and delicious, and the restaurant is elegant yet not pretentious, and the service is top-notch. I recommend any of the seafood dishes, and the Roy's private label cabernet is great.

The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. A great place to celebrate a special occasion. My twins loved getting a dessert with Happy Birthday written in chocolate across the page. We also liked the Birthday card from Roy's that was on the table when we arrived. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. She was very accommodating when it came to making sure one of our guest had a vegan meal. At the end of the evening our waitress took a group picture and gave it to us before we left as compliments from Roy's. Overall a very good experience. We would go again.

Noise level was especially high at checkin area which adjoined main seating area & bar - we asked for & were seated in one of the side rooms, which was bit better but still loud - music from overhead speakers was much too loud - why play random music at such a high level ???
Waiter was knowleadgeable & pleasant but not especially 'polished' - hard to explain - maybe speech was too casual & repeated - bit sloppy appearance (clothes & hair).
Food was great!
Price was so-so, even at restaurant week pricing - cost about $130 for two - for food, 1 drink each, tax & parking.

Did was great. Service left much to be desired. Is to ask three times for high chair/booster chairs. It was in the reservation and even confirmed when we walked in. Took over 20 minutes to get our toddlers water.we first got our water, asked for the kids water at that time. Still had to wait 20 minutes. They actually got it if their order first before they got their water. Food was great, service just want to to par for the cost.

Celebrated my moms 60th bday during restaurant week. They acknowledged it so well. Food and service were wonderful as always. THIS IS TRULY ONE OF MY FAVES (and I’m a total foodie)!

Most of us opted for the $35 3-course dinner option for Restaurant Week. All the food was good but not remarkable in any way. The Thai-inspired gazpacho with PEI mussels was the best of the 3 courses. Several of us disliked our Hawaiian Martinis. They were very alcohol-tasting and disappointing. Service was good, and the waiter promptly removed an extra drink from our tab when we pointed it out. Food and service not special enough to justify prices of food ala carte.

Always a winner at Roy's! We decided to sit at the bar and take advantage of the Aloha menu, which is great for friends with a lot of shared plates. The Fried Rice with Lump Crab, Lobster Potstickers, Rockshrimp Tempura and a Sangria is great for a rainy Saturday night with friends! Service always great and we pretty much closed down the place. I wish that I could dine at Roy’s weekly. The food is that good and unique. Try the appetizer trio, and the entre trio with the butter fish. The butter fish and the tuna are terrific.

Food and drinks were good. Service, especially bar service, was very slow. Overall a nice chain restaurant experience but not worth the premium price.

The food was okay. However, the quantity was amazingly small for the nearly $80 lunch price for two. Instead of providing the primary meal with substance, the kitchen added greens and two cookies on the plate, perhaps to visually embellish an unsubstantial meal.

This is the third Roy's that I have dined at and had high expectations for the Baltimore branch as well, raving about the Roy's chain to my dining companion. While the food lived up to the expectation, the service due to the waiter was severely lacking. It took over 10 minutes after arrival for him to acknowledge us and the service continued to go downhill from there. It was evident that this was not across the board as I saw other diners receiving great service.

I also overhead the manager greet returning customers and told them to save room for desert which would be on Roy's. While I understand the practice of taking care of loyal customers, as we were seated at the next table over on both occasions it would have been nice if he came over to inquire about our dining experience. While I may return to the Roy's in other locales, Baltimore has many options that have providing great experiences that I would recommend above Roy's.

The air conditioner was not working in the section of the restaurant where we were seated. The temperature outside was approximately 96 degrees, and inside it was about 90 degrees! It would have been nice to receive some notification about the air, via text or email. The food was pretty good, but overall the experience was fair.

Monique was our waitress/server, very nice, super friendly, gave good/kind advice to our daughter who ‘s starting college next fall.
Food was amazing!!! Everything was so good!
We had a great experience and definitely will return... the only downside was that it was too warm, seemed a/c was not working.

It was my wife's birthday and Roy's is one of her favorites. We were not disappointed. Roy's has expanded its menu selections to what is calls the "Chef's Creations." The down side of that is being able to make a choice. We both chose the seared Rockfish and loved it. My two adult children chose the Dynamite Crab Swordfish and declared it excellent. The side vegetables were fresh and nicely sautéed. Our waitress was wonderful - knowledgeable and personable. My wife received a complementary dessert being her birthday -the Kaffir Lime Tart. Overall, we had an excellent dining experience.

The cost for valet, dinner and drinks for 4 ppl was well below what we anticipated spending. The only reason I didn’t give a perfect rating was because our plates were hot to touch but our food was warm, heading toward cold. We will be returning however because we believe we can have a 5-stars experience at Roy’s. See you soon!

Very disappointed with the service. We’ve eaten here before and have also enjoyed Roy’s in San Diego & Maui. Always found it top notch, start to finish! Expensive but always lovely! The most recent dinner in Baltimore was so disappointing! Took forever to get our drinks, order taken, salad was forgotten. The waitress apologized for the slow kitchen and brought us dessert but the slow service continued. And frankly, it seemed they were just overwhelmed, even though it wasn’t at capacity. The check was brought but she didn’t come back promptly to pick up my card, even though I put it clearly in view, on the edge of the table. Instead, I saw her chatting with customers at the bar. I finally had to wave her down from across the room. For a 4 star restaurant with high prices, I just expected more.
