service and food was absolutely terrific !!!!!!!!
Our meal was excellent my filet was perfectly prepared. The wife loved the garlic sea bass. As usual the lobster mac & cheese was awesome. The artichoke dip was tasty and the wedge salad although different then usual was good. Our server Ed was very nice and treated us well. We had requested a booth but didn't get one.
Very slow service. Took 45 minutes to get our first drink. We were also seated in the side room with no ambiance. Sides and apps were good but steaks were underwhelming.
We are very sorry to hear that your experience was less than satisfactory. Your comments will be shared with the rest of the team.
Service is terrific.
Food is definitely going down hill. The steak quality was not what it used to be and everything (especially mashed potatoes) swimming in butter… and not in a good way.
It was nice that they put birthday confetti
Lobster Mack and cheese great
Stuffed mushrooms great
Spicy shrimp great
Mash potato no flavor kinda tasted like nuts
Sloppy piece of filet piece and over cooked
Waiter was horrible lack of attentiveness
Thank you for your candid review. We hold ourselves to the highest brand standards for food quality and what you describe is not consistent with our standards. We will work hard to improve and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Great evening celebrating my BIL bday. Great drinks🍷🥃 awesome food and outstanding service. Very pricey but it was worth it ❤️
All food was delicious and temperature appropriate. Steaks were cooked to perfections and seasoned wonderfully. Crab cakes were hand-made and loaded with crabmeat. Desserts were well-proportioned and a perfect finish to a perfect meal.
The restaurant was empty. Yet we waited forever for our food. The waitstaff was nonexistent. They didn’t seem to communicate amongst themselves as we had to repeat our orders. When it came time for dessert, they brought out the cake and bread pudding. With no birthday candle which was requested. With no cutlery or the coffee we ordered. Just sitting there looking at our desserts for a full 10min without our waitstaff checking to see what was going on. I have eaten at Ruth’s Chris plenty of times and never had this terrible of a service experience. Food was good but poor service made the entire experience awful.
My steak (cowboy rib steak) was tough and hardly edible…just awful. management was understanding and gracious
It was a lovely evening out with the family. The service, attentiveness and kindness that our server Dennis showed made the night better. I will definitely request him when we return.
Always a great meal, and quiet enough to have a conversation.
Filet mignon with blue cheese crust was outstanding. The sides were also great - garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Creme brulee wasn't as good as expected but the cheesecake was excellent.
Food was on point. Steaks were perfect. Service was a bit slower than usual, but must attribute that to Holiday and/or short staff due to Covid Omicrom.
Very accommodating loved everything!!
We went there for the steak, and they blew us away. My 11-oz fillet was perfectly med-rare and my son's was perfectly medium. Even the Daou cab complemented the steak well. The ambience was rather old and stuffy but we didn't go there for that. In my opinion, the food doesn't justify the price point even if New Year's Eve dinner might make for a good excuse. At least now we can say that we've been to Ruth's Chris: Don't leave home without your credit card. Cheers!
Food was good. Service was professional and personable. Dinner service took a little long (sat us late (had a hard time turning the first seating)), and then took about 3 hrs once seated. We ordered a seafood app, split salad, and then steak. They rushed the salad course; brought it out while we still had the seafood course. But then had about a 1 hr gap between the salad and the main course. They just could have spaced it better. We’d go back but small things are why I wouldn’t give it 5 stars.
We were a party of 5 for my son’s birthday. On Thursday evening.
I asked when the restaurant confirmed the 5:00 pm reservation how they were staffed and if they had any large parties as that typically impacts the service in that location. Despite being assured they were staffed, they were not. Our water tried his best, but he had too many tables and no assistance. It looked like only 1 or 2 food runners for entire restaurant.
We were held waiting a few moments for a 5:00 pm reservation. We were seated and 25 minutes passed before we received even water service and a full hour elapsed before we had anything other than bread. Calamari and Caesar salad were wonderful.
The steaks were ok, medium rare slightly underdone as usual unfortunately, my wife’s medium ordered as such to avoid purple, was unfortunately woefully over cooked.
The creamed spinach was cold and inedible. Water glasses sat empty through the meal and had to ask for them to be refreshed.
The birthday cheesecake is a nice gesture. Other Desserts were good, but brought a 3 hour 45 minute odyssey to conclusion. Good thing we had settled for a 5:00 pm reservation!
I feel diners want to be understanding “in these times”, but restaurants do have an obligation, especially at over $100 per person, to accept reservations with a realistic eye toward providing an expected dining experience and level of service. I do not feel Ruth’s Chris in Princeton Forrestal is providing the requisite level of service for the money.
I will be hesitant to return with my family and friends.
Service was very slow. Food was better than average but it should be superior for the price. Restaurant needs a facelift.
Excellent dinner on Christmas Day
Not as good as it once was. ☹️
Everything was great including our server Jason!
Christmas dinner. All good.
My husband and I went for Christmas dinner. The food as always was delicious. All of the staff was polite and friendly.
Christmas as always!
Always enjoy Ruth's Chris. Excellent Ribeye, Service, and professionalism at all levels!
Our waiter was great. He unobtrusively kept an eye on our progress and brought the next food at the right time. Very nice food especially the Caesar salad and the Brussels sprouts.
We had a wonderful time on Christmas day. The service was excellent. The food was delicious.
We’ve been coming to this establishment for Christmas Eve to celebrate a family friends birthday year after year because we always know what to expect! The only issues I have is my veal Osso bucco raviolis never come out hot. For some reason they are always served warm….if they weren’t so amazingly delicious I’d complain to the server! Lol. My steak was over cooked to the extent that I couldn’t eat it but didn’t request a new one knowing everyone else would have been finished before another Filet came out so I ate my child’s chicken fingers! My biggest complaint of the night was not being able to make a reservation for next Christmas Eve while I was there. If there’s anything you can do to help me with that I would greatly appreciate it.
had a reservation table wasn't ready had to wait a very long time in the bar and no service there for a drink either......entire experience took way too long. Food very mediocre
So sorry we did not meet your expectations. Your feedback has been relayed to our team.
Been coming here for 15 years now. They have truly had a sparkle in their eyes and service. Food has always been on point. The sizzle in the steaks is the sound that gets me excited. Service by the staff is amazing. One thing I I have noticed that may have changed a bit is their initial greeting and check in process. Before I used to be welcomed personally and people remembered you for your continued patronage. Lately, it’s just a check in process with absolutely no personal attention and enthusiasm. I used to love that personal service which unfortunately I do not see anymore. The wait staff do remember you if you have the option of getting them in repeat visits. They work really hard and the food quality is always exceptional.
Awesome service, delicious food; you cannot go wrong with this restaurant. Perfect sear and cook on both steaks, a cowboy ribeye, and T-bone. I can’t wait to go back already
I have been a long time customer of Ruth’s Chris and for the most part have always had positive experiences however this evening was disappointing. When attempting to order the filet mignon we were told they ran out of their standard size filet (11oz) yet they don’t open until 4:30 and our reservation was at 6:15. You are a steakhouse and don’t have filet at 6:15? Didn’t make much sense to me. Garlic mashed (which are our favorite) were hard and over cooked. Tonight was “ehhh”. Disappointed.
Didn’t have the regular filet that I ordered. They only had the petite filet. No mention of my wife’s birthday that I had put on the reservation.
Birthday celebration for my nephew!! Our server was excellent and the food was outstanding!! Perfect way to celebrate
As per usual, the staff the food and the atmosphere all met our expectations. We had a very nice time.
Hi Disappointing, we’re thrilled to get this kind of feedback.Thank you for taking the time to review us.
We had our office Holiday lunch at Ruth's. The service was very good as was the food.
Glad to learn your experience was a positive one. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Not bad, though the aura and atmosphere seemed more "business-like", perhaps because of the commercial-looking location and immediate surrounding location/ area.
I’ve been here many times but this time of felt like they were overly concerned with a large party in the back. Our assistant waiter was absolutely amazing. But it was not quite up to par with the previous experiences I’ve had here.
We apologize for not meeting your expectations, but appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Your remarks will be shared with the team.
I’ve enjoyed dining here on several occasions. Matt, the manager and his staff provide an excellent experience, well worth returning for.
Hi Genesis, thanks for the great review. We look forward to serving you again soon!
