Renowned British filmmaker Guy Ritchie partners with The Lodge at Blue Sky to open a second installation of his outpost restaurant, WildKitchen, which is featured in the Netflix hit series The Gentlemen. Perched atop a scenic peak with sweeping views of the Wasatch Mountain Range and Rockport Reservoir, this epicurean experience redefines the notion of a “bush kitchen.” Guests will experience a nightly set menu that is earthy yet elevated, where Chef and guests interact through cuisine inspired by the bounties of Gracie's Farm and locally sourced proteins. Savor the bold flavors of open fire cooking, where each course is touched by smoke and flame. Social dining at its best. Our 2nd visit to Sego, the 1st being in 2017. Their spectacular food being the reason for our return trip to Kanab this year. Well planned, expertly prepared selections for everyone. Delicious, flavorful, unique dishes made to share with your dining companions. Wife and I had a salad dish on the lines of a caprese salad that included mozzarella balls, red and yellow grape tomatoes, avocado, balsamic dressing, on Naan triangles; also Az filet of beef that comes with pecorino fingerling potatoes, and wok tossed broccolini. For dessert we chose the Utah apple tart with buttery crust, granola crumble, sweet whipped cream, and kitchen made ice cream. This is Kanab’s #1 restaurant with good reason. It is necessary to call in advance for reservations. Take my advice and do not miss this treat!

Yuta was the name the Ute Indians called the area and themselves, meaning "mountain top" or "people who live high is the mountains." Legend has it, when Spanish explorers arrived and asked the natives what this area was called, they were told "YUTA." Its mountains have seen many cultures pass through or inhabit, starting with the Uto-Aztecan Native Americans; then, the Utes. As US western expansion continued, more cultures moved through the area – from as far away as Eastern Europe and China. Drawing on all of these cultures, we are defining a regional cuisine true to Utah, featuring a wood-burning hearth, and with Lynsey Gammon, our Blue Sky farmer who uses the ultimate in organic farming practices.

Yuma was amazing. Thoughtfully designed in the most stunning setting. Service was top notch, food was outstanding. It was expensive but expected at a fine resort. We’ll be back.
