My 4th time there. Food and service were great, as before. This, and Osteria Georgi in Chapel Hill are, the best Italian restaurants in the area, in my opinion.

We have been long-term patrons of Bella Monica because they are a small, family-run business that excels at Italian cuisine, good wines, family ambience and always excellent service. Homemade pasta, Nana’s superb sauce, fresh-baked breads/flatbreads, and an extensive gluten-free menu makes for a wonderful experience. We’ll be back again!

Amalia Fumelli is the inspiration behind Amalia’s Authentic Italian Restaurant. She was born in Italy in 1932, and grew up on a farm. As she grew up, she took an interest in cooking and learned everything about the Italian kitchen from her mother and grandmother. For countless hours each day, Amalia began making hand-made pasta with her rolling pin on an old, wooden table. After many years, she had mastered her pasta creations through her skilled handiwork, precise cutting skills, and the amount of love she put into her work.

Over time, Amalia has passed all of her secrets and knowledge about food along to her children and grandchildren. One grandchild in particular, Filippo Fanfani, gained a passion for the art of cooking through her guidance. As a child, he spent all his days at his grandmother’s house preparing meals for his family. The two have a strong bond, that began with their conjoining love of creating meals that are enjoyable for everyone.

Chef John and his team are excited to bring you some takes on classic Italian cuisine along with some expected twists and turns to keep things current and we will always hunt for the highest quality ingredients we can find. Service promises to be warm and inviting never taking our focus off the details that matter while still keeping it fun and light hearted.
The decor here at Encore is a polished but comfy, the environment will create great energy and a sense of community but still provide some romantic corners for a Romantic evening with loved ones.

We went her for our wedding anniversary. Not only did we get a complimentary dessert, they also gave us a nice little custom gift based on our responses to a few questions. We had arancini, lasagna, pasta bolognese, crispy potatoes and asparagus. Everything was prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious, and came in very large quantity. The tiramasu was nice and the peanut & praline chocolate tart was heavenly. The cocktails were excellent and the wine selection is good. The service was attentive, cheerful and pleasant. It's a bit pricey, but it's a fantastic dining experience and we took home two meals worth of food after finishing our dinner.
