It is by far one of the best food experiences I’ve had! The food was exquisite! Flavors jumped from the dishes. The wine pairing was good also. The caviar appetizer tasted so good! We sat at the bar. The service was excellent. The different courses came out in perfect timing. It was the most expensive dinner I’ve ever had, but worth every penny.

This is one of our favorite restaurants and the results are excellent every time. The dishes are creative and very flavorful — they use many different ingredients but not in a silly or off-putting way. The staff is efficient and friendly, and work really well as a team. Last night I missed our waitresses’s attention as she walked by, so one of the other waiters saw it and stopped to ask what we wanted, and then went off to inform the waitress. I enjoy watching the cooks and the head chef; everything seems choreographed! Two thumbs up.

We've had cocktails and eaten here a few times. Our favorite spot to sit is at the end of the bar. We get to see all the drinks as they're made and the food as it comes out of the kitchen. (Having once worked for a restaurant I enjoy seeing how teams work together.) We’ve eaten at this spot during the soft opening and recently now that they're officially open. The bartenders are super approachable and helpful. If you're unsure of a drink they'll point you to exactly what you need--refreshing ranch water hard seltzers during a heatwave. Our favorite entree is the katsu-style fried chicken. It’s fried similar to the cutlets you'd get with a donburi at a Japanese restaurant. The chicken is moist and the breaded coating is nice and crispy. Our second favorite is the double smashburger Our favorite appetizer is the ceviche. It‘s served with tortilla chips. I like soaking the chips in the sauce that remains after we finish the halibut and cancha—it’s not too sour or sweet. The only downside is Rose’s is 21+. But thankfully the staff has helpfully recommended dishes for take out that our tween will enjoy. So far the entrees and desserts have two thumbs up.

I hate to review after my first visit. It seems easy to critique things that aren’t right when it may just be an off night. But, because I have been talking about this restaurant forever, since pre-pandemic, I think my observations are fair. All the dishes were 5 stars-except the risotto, porcini & beech mushroom, pea shoots, fava pistou. For our table it was a little runny and didn’t hold up to the flavor of the superior mushroom addition. Items we ordered: star route lettuces, roasted corn soup, scallop crudo, hobbs beignets, house made sourdough bread, king salmon and wagyu short ribs. The Royal caviar almost didn’t make it to the table as it was ordered but it not understood it was order? All, 5 stars! Dessert: lumberjack cake - 5 stars, blueberry tart and black rice pudding - 4 stars. The wines by the glass was a most impressive assortment from around the world and fantastic to have the option to experience so many varietals. Don’t get a bottle, get different glasses and have some delicious fun! Now, this is my most important topic, service. I was so very honored and excited to be there and shared that with our beautiful server. I remained engaged and animated the entire evening, waiting for her to break out and match our 60th birthday party celebration. It never happened. We did have one server who was also assisting our table and was bright and lovely, helpful and present. In the end, the people I have dining with me, as I view my servers as being part of a family for an hour or two, their service will always be one small step above perfect dishes. When you dine at the level of Frances, the service must match or the entire experience changes. I plan on going again as we never know what may have happened to a human in a day. I trust it will be 5 stars like everything else we experienced. Get there early and leave yourself time to park in the gorgeous neighborhood.
