The name “Sassella” comes from a hamlet of 60 residents known for its vineyards near where Chef Cristian Pontiggia grew up.

In addition to working at two Michelin Star restaurants in Europe, Lombardy native Chef Cristian Pontiggia has received several awards from La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an international gastronomic society. The Italian government recognizes him as a Master Chef, and he holds a culinary degree that certifies him as a Doctor of Enogastronomy.

What an amazing dinner! This place was highly recommended by some friends, and were so glad we ate there. Everything was so tasty and so yummy and so authentically Italian – something that we did not expect in Santa Fe. If you want to try something that’s not New Mexican cuisine while you’re here, definitely go to Sassella!

Our mission is to open a few restaurants that take care of our guests in every way-treating them like guests in our home, making sure that they feel embraced by the joy with which we extend our hospitality, and making sure that they become entranced by our restaurant. We understand the value of 'regulars' returning weekly and in many cases more frequently. We hope that all of our guests will feel that they belong to a private club, to which we welcome them again and again. M'tucci's Moderno located in Rio Rancho is a sister of our first restaurant, M'tucci's Italian, which is located at Coors and Montano on Albuquerque's West Side. At Moderno, we continue to offer a moderately priced, Italian menu built on a foundation of both traditional and contemporary recipes. The menu, together with the bar (full liquor license) menu, is offered in a contemporary building with black steel elements, high ceilings, and a big garage door that opens to the Sandia Mountains. Inside the steel, we have inserted a more traditional looking wood clad restaurant featuring traditional lighting and Edison bulbs, as well as other playful elements. Our congenial bar and mezzanine offer alternative spaces within which to enjoy M'tucci's food and beverage. Moderno's bar program features our unique shrubs as well as a new collection of original cocktails to complement our food and wine. Our mezzanine can also be reserved for private groups. M'tucci's Moderno is located just west of Presbyterian's Rust Medical Center. At the end of 2016, Jeff Spiegel, Katie Gardner, and John Haas, founders of M'tucci's Restaurants, welcomed five new partners to their ownership team: Austin Leard, Sherri Rivenburgh, Cory Gray, Shawn Cronin and Chris O'Sickey. This ensures that M'tucci's Restaurants are here for the long haul.

Great experience! Unfortunately we were limited on time and we mentioned it to the waiter when he first came over. He took our drink and appetizer order and those were out within five minutes. The bruschetta is amazing. Main course was on the table within 20 minutes. We were able to enjoy the great food, and even though we have limited time we never felt rushed. The waiter was attentive, provided refills without even asking, and very friendly. We even had time for dessert. All of this at a busy restaurant on a Friday evening.

Rustica is an old fashioned Southern Italian "neighborhood" restaurant and just what you remember from your childhood (if you're a senior). And the price point was right on. We shared an arugula, pear, gorgonzola, pecan salad; a pizza margherita; and pasta Norma (with pizza and pasta leftovers we took home). The large salad, very large pasta and the pizza were very good. The place was bustling on a Sunday night but we were seated in the middle dining room with no one seated next to us, so we could have a comfortable conversation. The service was excellent. We'll be back.

Welcome to M'tucci's! A locally owned business that loves making dishes from scratch using high quality products. We make our own sourdough bread, pasta, mozzarella cheese and more! Located in Historic Nob Hill, we have an incredible view of route 66 and a beautiful patio. We also work hard to have an amazing beverage program including hand crafted cocktails, 14 beers on draft and a large wine selection. We tend to go on a wait during high traffic hours so reservations are highly recommended. If you have any seating preferences please note them in your reservation as we have a beautiful bar along with two dining areas and a chefs bar for seating.

Parties over eight are subject to a 20% gratuity. Outside desserts are allowed, but we have a $15 outside dessert fee. We do have one complimentary dessert from our menu for celebrations!

Our seafood is always fresh from Above Sea Level. Our mussels are from the pristine Atlantic waters off the coast of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island mussels are known for their jet-black shells and sweet flavor. Our halibut and salmon wild caught and sourced from Alaska.

We work with many local nonprofits such as Kitchen Angels, and the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. Chef Steven Lemon also Works with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
