Salt Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Great selection of tapas and wine! Extremely friendly staff with great service!
We live in the neighborhood and love going to Salt - guaranteed great food and service, busy enough but not too loud, a lovely place for a relaxing meal.
The food at Salt is really special. This was our second visit, three years after our first - totally exceeded our memories and expectations. Be prepared to a wait a little while for your food to start showing up. It's a busy spot!
Amazing food combinations! Love the atmosphere. Great place for a date or meal with a friend.
It’s not very often that I write a review, good or bad, however, our dining experience at Salt was exceptional. The service was ace, the food was even better. My favourite had to be the lamb meatballs whilst my partner enjoyed the beef tartar and scallop ceviche twice over. Truly a gem on Ossington, even though they didn’t have my Pera Manca :).
Everything was delicious and the cocktails were amazing. We will definitely visit again.
Very noisy, wine was overpriced. Food was good, duck confit was outstanding
Amazing restaurant with incredible service. Waiter was great with accommodating my food allergy. 10/10 and will be back.
A high end tapas bar in a traditional Portuguese neighborhood. The octopus/pork belly is worth a trip on its own. Wine selection is broad, with particular Portuguese and Spanish ideas.
The first time we went to Salt it was a five star experience, wait staff was very attentive and knowledgable, recommending dishes and wine pairings. Unfortunately this was not the case on our most recent visit. The food was mediocre at best and the wait staff couldnt wait to get rid of us even though it was a Wednesday night and there were only two other couples dining there. Our plates were cleared before we finished eating and before I had a chance to read the bill the waiter was behind me with the debit remote. Will not go there again, Shame
Stumbled on this place with a small corporate event on Tuesday and loved the atmosphere and food so much that I came back for date night with my wife on Saturday.
Cozy, narrow space, perfect seating for 2 in the candlelit wine racks of Portuguese/Spanish wines. Recommend the scallop ceviche, truffle gnocchi and duck confit. You won't be disappointed.
Went for a late night, light dinner. Nice decor. Interesting, well prepared small plates. 2 items each, unless you are really hungry. The scallop ceviche was delicious, but a small serving. The spicy lamb meatballs were amazing. Also had the heirloom tomato salad, the grilled octopus (cooked perfectly), papatas bravas with chorizo, and the crab risotto negra, which was really tasty, (but I did find the squid ink a bit off-putting, myself). Overall, very delicious, service was great, and under $200 for 3people with a $60 bottle of wine.
The food, wine and service was all great! Food is more intended as sharable/tapas style.
Great ambience and tasty dishes albeit some were pricey for what you received. The duck confit in particular.
Overall it was a nice evening.
We had an awesome time! The service was good and the food was delicious.
Lovely ambiance, friendly staff, great food and wine.
Salt is a fabulous restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed dinner early on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere is very casual. The décor reveals a series of wine bottles along wooden shelves on the side walls, interspaced with wine crates and lids. Europe immediately comes to mind. The menu has a wide selection of dishes. The wine list features varietals from Spain and Portugal. The wait staff were very helpful with pairing the wines and ensuring that we avoided any allergies with the food. We were surprised at how reasonably priced this elegant little dinner was. Highly recommended.
I am a big fan of Salt - excellent wine list that leans heavily to Portugal (as it is a Portuguese focused restaurant) and delicious tapas. Service is very good and atmosphere relaxed and inviting. Love the grilled peppers and seafood choices.
Wonderful place...service & food were exceptional.
We loved the feel for this place. Great flavourful tapas choices, great wine and desserts to die for. All in vibrant little Portugal.
This place always makes for great dining experiences. Servers helped with picking a wine I ended up loving! And the food was delicious. I'll always be back
Amazing food and wine and perfect service! Definitely a highlight of our short trip to Toronto!
Great tastes of Portugal
We had a great Portuguese wine and loved the scallops
Friendly staff, great food and drinks! Our "go to" restaurant.
4.5 stars. A lovely meal with surprisingly good fried chicken, heritage tomatoes, ribs, crab ravioli. Not typical tapas but all wonderfullyprepared and served. First rate!
The food itself was very good, but I was surprised at how my reservation was ignored. I went for my girlfriends 21st birthday, and I assumed , like at most restaurants , some sort of gesture would be made to acknowledge this. This wasn't done and this makes me hesitant to go back.
Fantastic meal and cocktails. Attentive service. Would highly recommend.
Loved it! Food was great, nice ambiance and service was awesome!!! The grilled calamari was amazing and everything came out hit and fresh!
Always love my visits to 'salt' - very much enjoy being able to sample and share different dishes - like the wine pairing - like the ambiance and the service. I will be back!
Good food and great service.
Ambiance and wine list very good too, but the food is just Amazing!
Every dish we had was excellent. Each had unique flavourings and were well presented
Each course was very flavorful.. Portion size perfect for sharing
Not just for hipsters! ( We were a party of 4 professional friends in their late 50's). Salt is a classy yet laid back fine dining experience. The Spanish food and wine selection are outstanding and not commonly found in other restos. Service was personal, never obsequious and very informative. Looking forward to our return visit(s).
Great sharing menu Tapas style, nice selection of wine.excellent place to meet with friends . background music but not too loud.
We had a wonderful meal here yet again. Every one of our dozen dishes was excellent--from rapini to squid to foie gras to bread and olives. First rate food, reasonably priced Spanish wine and excellent service from a knowledgeable server.
Everything was fantastic. The service was exceptional and the food was great.
Amazing food and great service, people are friendly yet very professional.
My wife and I went to Salt Wine Bar this past weekend with 2 other couples, the ambiance its great, food its very delicious (tapas); the service was good enough but not overly attentive. Pricy for sure but worth the trip.
