Salt Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Great tapas, music and mixed drinks.
Loved it. Food was delicious and wdll madd. Eberything came ojt perfectly. Would definitely retun. Great ambiance as well and super friendly and attentive staff.
Good food and flavours. Excellent atmosphere.
The food and wine werre excellent, however the prices were ridiculous. Will not go back for that reason.
I’ve had great meals here, and would come again, but this evening was mixed. Crab cakes were bad (too breaded, too salts, limited crab taste). Short ribs were ok, not as good as other meat-based tapas. Octopus/chorizo was great, scallop ceviche was great.
Both the service and food at Salt Wine Bar were excellent!
The food was out of this world good and the service was excellent! Our server helped us choose a wine to go with our food and it was fantastic too. Will go back again and again and again!
Not my first time here, but it continues to impress in new ways every time. On this occasion we spent a bit more time than usual discussing the wine choice with the server. The wine list has a large selection of Portuguese wine and assistance is very helpful. Our server nailed it. The wine she recommended was exactly what we were looking for and complemented the meal perfectly.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The potatoes were to die for and the churros were the best I've ever had. Service was good but could have been better. Twice we were given the wrong orders for our table. When I first walked in there was no one at the front to greet customers and it took a while for someone to come. One waiter walked right past me twice and I don't think it would have hurt for him to acknowledge me even if he wasn't the hostess. There was some confusion with the bill at the end which kind of bummed us out but it eventually got resolved. Overall we had a great experience and this is definitely one of the top places in Toronto for tapas. Couldn't wait to go back.
Very nice place, I highly appreciated it wasn't too loud. Very good food, would have liked more options of Spanish wines.
Went to Salt as a post wedding dress shopping celebration with my bridesmaids. It was great! The food was absolutely delicious - great place for sharing and being able to try a bunch of things. The crab & shrimps cakes and the buttermilk fried chicken were amazing. Just an FYI that it's quite loud so a bit tricky to have an audible conversation with a group over 4 people. Would definitely recommend it.
The food was excellent as was the service. The menu is not huge but varied enough - something for everyone. Wine list is extensive our waiter was knowledgeable and of assistance in pairing wine to our food selections. Not a frugal night out but nevertheless enjoyable. I would return.
Service was excellent. Knowledgeable staff. Great vibes and atmosphere
Cozy resto in a great neighborhood. Delicious food and wine, friendly and knowledgeable service. Would go back in a heartbeat. Great spot for a date.
The restaurant has a good atmosphere with a menu that has enough variety for small groups.
Really great! Drinks, service, ambiance were wonderful. The only thing would be the price on some of the dishes were too high for the quality, but other than that a fantastic joint. Highly recommend the fried chicken and truffle gnocchi dishes :)
Amazing food, ambiance, drinks and service. An Ossington must!
Another excellent 4.5 star meal at Salt. Every one of the 8 dishes four of us had was excellent--spare ribs gorgeous, lamb meatballs and crab-shrimp cakes superb. It's even easy to hear conversation across the table. Good wine list, good cider, good service.
We have never been disappointed at Salt. Lovely, knowledgeable service. Delicious, elegant tapas style food with a Portuguese twist. Beautiful, relaxed room. Excellent sommelier.
Once again had a great night at this great restaurant. Food was excellent and service spot on. Will be back.
Amazing and delicious food! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Reasonably priced as well for the quality you are getting. Hands down our favourite restaurant in Toronto. We love coming here for all our special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries!
We had a lovely family dinner, the food was delicious and our server Courtney was awesome! Thank you!
Amazing food, service and wine. Philip and the team never disappoint.
Have had many great dinners at Salt but this was not one of them. The food was not great and it cost us a fortune including wine. Will not be going back again!
enjoyed our food as well as the service which was excellent. we will definitely be back.
I have been to Salt before and have always enjoyed the food and service in the past. Therefore, when a friend came to Toronto for work I thought it would be a great spot to catch up and enjoy some delicious food and cocktails. The service was wonderful as was the food until my friend picked a hair out of her mouth. I know these things happen but it did take away from the experience a bit. The server did take the item off our bill but I was surprised that a dessert or something was not offered to my friend. The apology was lacklustre and we were told repeatedly that the chefs wore hair nets. The server handled it as best as she could as I am sure it was management that did not see fit to do anything other than take the item off the bill. I worked in service for many years and I do not expect them to comp entire meals, drinks and that sort of thing that some customers demand. However, our bill was not small, a sincere apology and offering a dessert or drink would have been a nice gesture. I do like the food and vibe though so I will probably go back. That being said with all of the great restaurants in the city they should handle complaints with a little more finesse so that the customer feels like their business is actually appreciated.
Great service and great food.
So delicious and great! Highly recommended! Menu and vibe was great! Service was great! Just a little tight on space!
Great selection of tapas and wine! Extremely friendly staff with great service!
We live in the neighborhood and love going to Salt - guaranteed great food and service, busy enough but not too loud, a lovely place for a relaxing meal.
The food at Salt is really special. This was our second visit, three years after our first - totally exceeded our memories and expectations. Be prepared to a wait a little while for your food to start showing up. It's a busy spot!
Amazing food combinations! Love the atmosphere. Great place for a date or meal with a friend.
It’s not very often that I write a review, good or bad, however, our dining experience at Salt was exceptional. The service was ace, the food was even better. My favourite had to be the lamb meatballs whilst my partner enjoyed the beef tartar and scallop ceviche twice over. Truly a gem on Ossington, even though they didn’t have my Pera Manca :).
Everything was delicious and the cocktails were amazing. We will definitely visit again.
Very noisy, wine was overpriced. Food was good, duck confit was outstanding
Amazing restaurant with incredible service. Waiter was great with accommodating my food allergy. 10/10 and will be back.
A high end tapas bar in a traditional Portuguese neighborhood. The octopus/pork belly is worth a trip on its own. Wine selection is broad, with particular Portuguese and Spanish ideas.
The first time we went to Salt it was a five star experience, wait staff was very attentive and knowledgable, recommending dishes and wine pairings. Unfortunately this was not the case on our most recent visit. The food was mediocre at best and the wait staff couldnt wait to get rid of us even though it was a Wednesday night and there were only two other couples dining there. Our plates were cleared before we finished eating and before I had a chance to read the bill the waiter was behind me with the debit remote. Will not go there again, Shame
Stumbled on this place with a small corporate event on Tuesday and loved the atmosphere and food so much that I came back for date night with my wife on Saturday.
Cozy, narrow space, perfect seating for 2 in the candlelit wine racks of Portuguese/Spanish wines. Recommend the scallop ceviche, truffle gnocchi and duck confit. You won't be disappointed.
Went for a late night, light dinner. Nice decor. Interesting, well prepared small plates. 2 items each, unless you are really hungry. The scallop ceviche was delicious, but a small serving. The spicy lamb meatballs were amazing. Also had the heirloom tomato salad, the grilled octopus (cooked perfectly), papatas bravas with chorizo, and the crab risotto negra, which was really tasty, (but I did find the squid ink a bit off-putting, myself). Overall, very delicious, service was great, and under $200 for 3people with a $60 bottle of wine.
