Birthday celebration... service impeccable & food delicious! MoreOpenTable Diner -
Use the Grant Hotel's Valet parking - $10 for 3 hours - can't beat that price anywhere nearby. We were given a sample of the seared Ahi Tuna appetizer - it melted it our mouths. We chose the Roasted Baby Beets and Spanish Octopus for our starters - both were excellent and not over cooked. For the Main Courses we had the Mushroom & Wheat Berry Cakes and the Corriander-Crusted Lamb Loin. The Lamb, reminded me of Fillet Mignon - it was so tender. Our waiter, Sergio, was very knowledgeable and helpful, especially in the selection of an appropriate wine. After dinner we were given a free dessert because it was our anniversary. We were admiring the lounge of The Grant Hotel and one of the employees, Peter, gave us a guided tour. Over all a wonderful experience. A bit pricey, but not unexpected - about $200.00 after tips. This is a place we frequent often for the Sunday brunch. A class act. Waiters could be a little more attentive, though. Have to ask for service at times. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Nestled in Carlsbad’s bustling Village Fair, Clara is a chic new dining and drinking oasis. Serving market-driven cuisine and unforgettable craft cocktails in a lush and eclectic setting, the restaurant is a refreshingly modern North County destination.
Clara’s executive chef is lauded San Diego Chef Alex Carballo (Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Moto Deli). Bartender Seth Marquez (Campfire, Sycamore Den) is behind Clara’s innovative beverage program, focusing on colorful and ingredient-driven drinks that are long, light and refreshing. Clara’s playful and feminine aesthetic offers an inviting backdrop for an unassuming eating and drinking experience that is a stylish Village standout.More
(We are The New Spot in The Gaslamp)
The space is unique to San Diego, feeling almost New York City like. Chandeliers, Club leather furniture, marble table tops, cocktails that, though, called tiki, are not really the tiki you would imagine.
The cocktails are met with a menu mostly unfamiliar to San Diego. Baja California is where Baja meets San Diego. In a time and place where we need to spotlight it most. Relying on ancient and modern techniques and cross-border ingredients with a nuevo approach to menu delivery, the culinary story will highlight oysters, seafare from baja and produce highlighting the southern california region, including foraged ingredients.
Juan tequila is located in the Gaslamp. We are proud of the story we are telling and the team we have built to make this happen.
Welcome to Juan Tequila. Straight Up Classy™More

Overlooking San Diego Bay at the crossroads of downtown’s most storied neighborhoods, Chef Amy DiBiase and Chef Paul McCabe impart Vistal, a shared culinary tribute to the seaside communities and diverse cultures that encompass San Diego’s past and present. The two award-winning chefs seamlessly blend their contrasting takes on the region’s core flavors, presenting bright, bold combinations influenced by the Baja peninsula, Pacific islands, Mediterranean fishing villages and beyond for a refreshing new perspective on coastal Southern California cuisine.
With gleaming views of the water, Vistal’s design is reminiscent of San Diego’s endless summer. An imposing 29-seat bar is angled towards the USS Midway, which is framed by the dining room’s panoramic windows. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors let the sea breezes in, leading from the main dining area to a west-facing terrace offering tabletop seating, fireside lounges, and an elevated view of the bay.
