Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar – Richmond Hill
Our story is simple. Everything we can make fresh daily, we do. Including our hand-stretched mozzarella (made-to-order every day between 5pm & 11pm), our pasta, our signature 1/2 lb meatballs, our dough, bread and desserts.

Italian-Themed Food and Beverage Experiences
Had reservations, arrived 10 mins earlier and requested a table on the patio. Hostess mentioned tables are leaving and just need to clean up .. 30 mins later they tried to sit us in the dining room so we reminded them we wanted to sit on patio. After 45 mins we finally sat down and it would’ve been smart for the hostess to tell the server how long we waited and to get to us ASAP but the server wasn’t around until we stopped a passerby who happened to be our server . It took very long to just get a table and even have our order taken
Great food and service! Ambience is rustic and cozy with a nice Italian feel. Delicious food accompanied with knowledgeable servers and great suggestions for dining! Overall pleasent dining experience and would definitely come again!
We met with friends that we hadn't seen in months. Had an amazing time. It was the first visit for my husband. He had the chicken and shrimp main. He said it was delicious. We sat on the patio and with the exception of the three mice running over our feet we had an excellent evening. Will definitely be back.
The waitress was too busy, wait long time to take order and wait long time to pay the bill
Food was not of good quality. Not value for money. Had invited guests and everyone was disappointed. Would not visit again!
My most recent visit wasn’t up to the usual caliber of this location.
Our usual appetizer of polenta tots had, in certain parts, such spicy sauce our mouths were on fire.
Starter Salads and mains came out at the same time and the charity bread, which came out much later, was a greasy mess.
First time we have been in this restaurant and it was an awesome experience. Service is good. Staff is very friendly. Quite a relaxing place to wind down after a busy and hot day. Food is good although my husband find it a bit garlicky in taste. His comment on the garlic bread - prefers it to be a little crunchier as he find the bread too soft. But overall, will definitely come back and try the other items on their menu.
Four of us arrived after 9pm to take advantage of the half price pizza and $5 drinks.
My friend had the meat lovers pizza and was very satisfied with that and we were all happy about the $5 pints of beer. We enjoyed sitting on the patio.
I ordered the caprese salad which I expected to be special given the almost $17 price tag. The freshly pulled mozzarella in the salad which was being strongly promoted by the server was good , but the portion size was average at best and did not come close to my expectation of a $17 salad, considering I did not add any other protein to it. May go back for pizza and beer after 9, but not for much else.
Was amazing food but really hot inside the restaurant
Server was very friendly and offered a pitcher of lemon water which was timely on a very hot day. The kitchen had no issues customizing dish with additional arugula and pasta substitution. Excellent food and service!
Great patio with, both, sunny and shaded areas. Calamari appetizer was okay. Polenta poppers were good but not very warm. Beet salad was yummy.
A bit loud. Could not find any free parking at the busiest time. Circling like a vulture to find a spot for a half hour was no fun. Stupid parking dispute between adjacent landlords is affecting many area restaurants, I was told. Don’t try to not pay for parking; you will be ticketed. Damned inconvenience!
Food was poor tasting and quality! Service was average! Greeting was 'matter of fact' even though we had noted with the booking that we were celebrating our 37th Anniversary! The hostesses only mentioned the Anniversary when we told them we had requested a nice, quiet table by the window! They were seating us with all other guests! They did not have a table ready and reserved for us! They proceeded to seat us next to an office party of 12 people! We had to ask to be moved and it didn't get much better!
Our server wasn’t kind, food was overall ok. Drinks were great. I would still try it again. Maybe the server wasn’t having a good day.
I have been there a dozen times so I have a reference point when I say service was as slow as molasses. From food and refills (asked early because I just KNEW she was slow, and when it finally arrived we were just about finished our meal and were lacking in refreshments). Brought out the bill quickly however but to top it off server did not provide us with a bag for our leftover containers.
It was ok. The place is very noisy and our waiter spoke so fast, that we couldn’t understand him.
Great food and awesome service! We were visiting from out of town and came upon the restaurant which we were glad we did.
We made a reservation on line and when we arrived we still had to wait 20 minutes. The staff are friendly but the food is mediocre at best. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant.
Our Appetizer was given to another table so we had to wait even longer extra 15 minutes on top of already waiting 15 minutes (30 minutes in total for an app). I had the Snapper dish and specifically asked if it was a whole fish or a filet. I was advised it was a boneless filet, unfortunately there were several bones I have to pick out 6 or 7 which I found while chewing my food. I told the waiter regarding the bones to let the chef know they should be checking cause if I had chocked on a bone and something serious happened to me that would not have been good for either myself of your business.
The server was great and the only reason I gave her 5 star review the two meals were bla, to be fair I had just come back from a 3 week tuscan vacation and italiian in richmond Hill is a little different than what is found in the motherland.
Put in a request for a birthday and quiet seating - they did not even acknowledge the request.
Didnt care much for type of food available.Pizza ws terrible
Great food and great place to bring family. Good variety
The server was attentive but the restaurant was busy with Father Day and it took a while to get the order and the food. I have been on other occasions and the wine list and the food is fantastic.
I visited with 2 friends and we all felt the service was below standards. The server was not friendly. She wasn't willing to help us looking for another table that allowed us to watch the FIFA game more clearly. She told us to go look ourselves, perhaps it would be out of her servicing area and she'd lose out on the tips. She wasn't taking any initiatives to clean off empty dishes and wasn't refilling our water, even when we have a empty bottle in a visible position. I would say she's rude throughout the entire meal. I had a coupon I'd like to use for our meal and the server didn't know how to code our bill, so approached er manager. Her manager comes with a "know it all" attitude, as if ready to tell me my coupon is invalid. She wasn't polite either, smarter she read my coupon, her tone softened and said "oh, I know what this is" and left. Both of them had a resting b face. I've had many pleasant experiences at this location and do not wish to blacklist this one. But this was a disappointing experience.
The server didn't really check up on us. My sister ordered a drink which never showed up and she was charged for it on her bill. My drink almost went to another table. I noticed it and called out at the waitress. Once we paid, the server didn't bother to bring back the box for the cake we had or anything. Also some of the food was really salty. Fine for me but my sister could not eat it.
The food was great and they definitely earned their commitment of serving fresh pasta. However, the portions are rather small for the price you pay. Do be wary that the pricing likely reflects the maintenance needed to keep the restaurant in the condition it's in. That being said, I love the authentic ambience of the restaurant. Having water served in chilled glass bottles was a nice touch. The service was good but could be better; our waitress came around our table only a few times, and for a long while we had no water left. I do thank the hostesses for notifying guests where the free parking is located in the plaza; most of the parking lot requires paid parking and only certain restaurants validate your parking. Scaddabush has ample parking but it's only around their immediate vicinity, so don't park your car in the blue-lined area.
Overall, this is a nice get-together place, but I think it's too pricey for the portions you get. Sure beats East Side Mario's though
Food is good, service is excellent!
Took some important people out to dinner to thank them.
Much better than the Scarbourough Town Centre location
Great service, great food. The pizza is really good.
Love the zucca 🙊
Lunch for 5.
All enjoyed the appetizers and mains which came out in great time.
No checkup on drinks or top ups through out meal, not even the table side water..
Our waiter was great, very friendly and professional.
The food was good except the portion was smaller than previous - in particular, the calamari had lots more vegetable in it than calamari itself.
Nice surprise that beer was on special - $2 off, wow!
Only disappointment was the restaurant ran out of 'sizzling sparkles' on the complimentary birthday dessert =(
Party of 6, 5 adults over 20 and 1 teen; everyone enjoyed both the appetizers and main dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was lively, which was perfect for us as our conversation was as well. We will plan to return and enjoy another meal sometime.
We had a very enjoyable meal. Their homemade mozzarella is a great app. It was lunch so I had the salad with pear, beet, feta & walnuts--it was tasty! The only disappointment was that we made a patio reservation but had to move inside. Our patio table was up against the baking brick wall in the beating sun with no umbrella or shade.
Our waiter was Will, he was very friendly and the food came to our table on time. I just wish the lighting was a bit brighter.
The mozzarella ball was a fantastic starter and we easily shared with 3 people. All the pasta dishes were fantastic and the pizza was good but the pasta was the winner. The cheesecake dessert is to die for and easily shareable.
Pasta dishes are outstanding and cooked just right. The ingredients are fresh and vegetables are crisp. Culinary art at an affordable price.
It was a very busy night but Jaime provided us with outstanding service. He took time to engage in short talk, short tour after our meal for bet spot for photo and even took our group shot. Oh those wine collections are great backdrop for happy occasion.
He made us feel special.
Great for Mothers Day
