Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar – Richmond Hill
Our story is simple. Everything we can make fresh daily, we do. Including our hand-stretched mozzarella (made-to-order every day between 5pm & 11pm), our pasta, our signature 1/2 lb meatballs, our dough, bread and desserts.

We waited over an hour for a table. Not sure what the benefit of a reservation was.
Real problem is lack of parking. Had lunch reservations for 1pm. Had to drive around looking for a parking space. Finally found one quite a distance from the restaurant.
Otherwise we enjoyed our lunch and the service was very good!
We had reservations for 7 people including 3 children. When we were shown to our table the chairs were all mismatched, which is fine if that's the look that the restaurant was after, BUT the fact that 6 of those chairs were small wooden hard seats was not fine or inviting for adults. We had the server find us a couple of decent chairs to swap. Food was decent but the price was a bit on the expensive side for the size of the main course salads. Two items, on the menu, were sold out (we were there at noon on a Sunday). Atmosphere was good. Service was good.
My first time there very impressed with service food and atmosphere will go again
I have not receieved my receipt ($265).
I would really appreciate if I can get the receipt
Greeted immediately. Table ready. Service good although servers didn't return to ask how the main meal was. The special pasta dish was very dry and needed more sauce, and the pasta was over-cooked and sat in the bowl as a solid lump. The bruschetta was very good, and everyone else enjoyed their main meals, which included the salman, pizza and chicken sandwich.
This venue has very nice ambiance, perfect for date but also child friendly! The waiters are attentive and the food is excellent! Will come back again.
Too noisy. Two of the chairs on a table of 4 were uneven in height.
Our server gave us many options on the food item that's on the menu and she was very interactive and attentive to our needs during our dinner stay. Must try the housemade mozzarella. Very vibrant atmosphere but with decent good Italian food.
Really nice place with a great atmosphere and excellent food. The mozzarella is delicious, as are the pizzas. Honestly I haven't tried any of the other dishes yet, but given the quality of what I had so far, I'm sure they're all good. If I had one nitpick is, I wish they had wider beer selection on draught.
Oh and it gets busy in the evening, especially Fridays - lots of folks who work in the area start their weekend there, so give yourself at least a couple of days when making reservations.
Had a great time and our server was awesome. She was very helpful and played a big part in pulling off the surprise for my boyfriend
Food was amazing. The server was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about my Celiacs and suggested great options for me that did not contain wheat rye barley or oats.
Service was excellent Meals very good Pizza meat lovers, penne bolognese and chicken all very tasty
Booked a table of 5. Was given a table for 4 with an additional seat. Had to move to the lounge.
This was the second Scaddabush we had eaten at. The first was at Collussus. Although the food was very good, the service and ambience was unacceptable. The first issue began at arrival. I was early and my friends had not yet arrived. The hostess seated me at a table in an area where no other tables were occupied. I sat for 10 minutes before she returned to tell me that the wait staff was not on duty yet but did I want water. I would have liked an alcoholic beverage. The lighting was so dim that none of us could properly see our menu. The waiter was not very attentive. After serving coffee and dessert, he never returned to ask if we wanted more coffee. We did but it never happened. Finally, the noise level was horrific. We were shouting across the table to be heard. I did not have any of these issues at the Collussus location. I may return to Scaddabush but would not return to the York Blvd. location.
The waitress cleaned up very fast as soon as each dish we finished. It looks like she wanted our table for next customer.
The food was great at this place. What was not great was the service! For every course of our meal, we had a long wait in between each service. It seemed like we had to fight each time to get another course. We had to find someone to get salt and pepper for our table. When we ordered dessert, the dessert came, but it seemed like they really went all the way to China to get the tea that we had ordered. Even to get the bill at the end, we had to get up and go to the hostess to find out how we could pay our bill. Lucky enough, the person we sought out was a manager. The manager was a did take one cheesecake off our bill; which was kind of her. The restaurant and atmosphere was great, it was just a shame about the service. We did manage to have a great laugh with other servers, so may be ours had a bad night! I would definitely go back, and hopefully get better service. Cheers!
Outstanding at every level
Back for their awesome pizzas....can't get enough. Waiter was cool and attentive. DJ was supplying the music, awesome tunes. Can't to wait to go back
Ambiance of the venue was great. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, when the DJ arrived he played the music far too loud. There were numerous tables of families, including ourselves, still dining as it was only about 7pm when the DJ arrived. Families are still chatting and catching up on their day and the loud music was a huge distraction as no one could hear each other. Very disappointing. If there is a quieter place in the restaurant, that option should be given when booking online.
I am not sure I would recommend this place for the reason stated above, as a number of friends have also commented having the same negative experience
The whole charging for parking in this location will likely make me look elsewhere.
Waitress didn't offer to refill drinks even once. The food was good as usual.
Our server Denis was awesome! Energetic, knowleadgeable, courteous. He enjoys his job and we could tell! :-)
The food are great and the location is convenient. However, they need to improve their service or staff training. First they took the wrong party to the table that we have reserved, then after they fix the problem and sit down in the table. We have to wait for another 20 min for the server to show up to greet us and to bring us a glass of water.... just a lot of disappointment on the customer service ...
Met some friends, was greeted promptly.
I had reserved online and requested a quiet area of the restaurant.
The hostess greeted us and verbalized what our request was
We were seated, and then shortly after, two tables very close to us were seated
One had the moms, the other had about 12 children at it
Not my idea of a quiet area of the restaurant.
It is one thing to seat us as requested, another to insure proper follow up
very limited choices for vegan. which was unfortunate for 1 of four guests. Initial food service and delivery not bad, but follow up and bar service terrible.
Food and service was generally good but receiving the bill took a long time.
We had a wonderful meal with amazing service
Noam was the best server I've seen in a very long time!!
I love this quiet and comfortable dinning room. The dishes are big. The steak is just right, perfect tasting. When the music was on “Perfect” by Ed S., definitely at that moment I felt I had a perfect meal too.
Overall a great dining experience. I had a reservation for two, and it took a few minutes for us to be seated, as the restaurant seemed busy. We were eventually seated and the hostess quickly apologized for the wait. Service after that was a little bit slow. However, the food was great and my date and I enjoyed the complementary birthday cake. We would come back to this location.
Table service was slow. Can’t find our server most of times
Excellent food...ate there 3 times this week and everything was was delicious!!
We have been to this location many times, only this time we found the service lacking, very slow. When we received our pasta dish, we were not offered cheese or pepper and had to ask and it took 10 minutes to get it. We ordered coffees and had to wait a while and when they came, they were cold. I think they had been sitting a while before they were picked up, just like my pre dinner drink which took a long time to come. Also the menu item I chose had red peppers in it and this was not listed on the menu. Any kind of peppers does not agree with me and this should have been listed n the menu giving me the option to have it prepared without peppers.
Good variety of contemporary items in menu. Good quality and reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere and not overly noisy.
The food was amazing!! The service was mediocre. I think someone might have called in sick. Our empty glasses and plates didn’t get cleared away. We had to ask for a dessert menu and for coffee and tea. There was huge line-up waiting to get in,but here were so many I cleaned tables. I would go back for the food, hopefully the service is better next time.
I thought my plate was served with a little less ingredients compared to my visit here last time. Anyways, food is still very good, very tasty and served in the most appetizing way. I love the ambience but the sound gets a little too loud as it gets late. Will always go back due to their great customer service and food quality.
I love going to Scaddabush for the charity bread - it is absolutely amazing. The service is typically alright - I've consistently had trouble flagging down my server and the wait time for everything is quite long. This time, the server was very friendly but he was extremely busy and I could see that. Due to the lack of staffing, the service wasn't the greatest and the charity bread was in the oven a little too long. It's still a restaurant that I would go to because of the food and value but the service can definitely improve. I liked that this server was still friendly and nice even though he was swamped whereas I've had servers who would disappear for half an hour and even though I flagged down two other people for assistance, I would still have to wait a while.
Our lunch was very good, we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air, the umbrellas shaded our table so it was very comfortable. Our food was delicious (Pizza, pasta and charity bread), the cocktail was quite refreshing. Our server was very courteous, we did not have to wait long and the food was hot. All in all it was a good lunch day.
It was great. The service was outstanding. Some items on the menu are different from what you find in most Italian restaurants.
We love meeting up at this restaurant. However i'm not sure what is going on with the parking situation for the blue lines. If you're not participating at certain restaurants then you have to pay to park, but if you do you give them your license plate? So weird!
After checking in with the hostess we were brought to a four seater table with an extra chair thrown in on one side to account for my FIVE PERSON reservation. Right beside our table was another round table with five sets of cutlery setup with more than adequate space to eat. Upon asking the hostess if we can move to that table instead since we would be more comfortable, the hostess simply laughed, said no and said we were "assigned" to this table and we only get the four seater table for the night, then proceeded to walk away with a "not my problem" attitude. It was super clear that she did not care whatsoever for Scaddabush's customers and wanted to do the bare minimum. I had to walk up to the head hostess, explain my situation and my displeasure with our situation to be moved to the round table with enough space for my whole family. This hostess ruined my father's birthday dinner by putting us into a negartive mood from the get go. EXTREMELY not impressed considering that I am a frequent customer.
