Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar – Richmond Hill
Our story is simple. Everything we can make fresh daily, we do. Including our hand-stretched mozzarella (made-to-order every day between 5pm & 11pm), our pasta, our signature 1/2 lb meatballs, our dough, bread and desserts.

The food was amazing!! The service was mediocre. I think someone might have called in sick. Our empty glasses and plates didn’t get cleared away. We had to ask for a dessert menu and for coffee and tea. There was huge line-up waiting to get in,but here were so many I cleaned tables. I would go back for the food, hopefully the service is better next time.
I thought my plate was served with a little less ingredients compared to my visit here last time. Anyways, food is still very good, very tasty and served in the most appetizing way. I love the ambience but the sound gets a little too loud as it gets late. Will always go back due to their great customer service and food quality.
I love going to Scaddabush for the charity bread - it is absolutely amazing. The service is typically alright - I've consistently had trouble flagging down my server and the wait time for everything is quite long. This time, the server was very friendly but he was extremely busy and I could see that. Due to the lack of staffing, the service wasn't the greatest and the charity bread was in the oven a little too long. It's still a restaurant that I would go to because of the food and value but the service can definitely improve. I liked that this server was still friendly and nice even though he was swamped whereas I've had servers who would disappear for half an hour and even though I flagged down two other people for assistance, I would still have to wait a while.
Our lunch was very good, we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air, the umbrellas shaded our table so it was very comfortable. Our food was delicious (Pizza, pasta and charity bread), the cocktail was quite refreshing. Our server was very courteous, we did not have to wait long and the food was hot. All in all it was a good lunch day.
It was great. The service was outstanding. Some items on the menu are different from what you find in most Italian restaurants.
We love meeting up at this restaurant. However i'm not sure what is going on with the parking situation for the blue lines. If you're not participating at certain restaurants then you have to pay to park, but if you do you give them your license plate? So weird!
After checking in with the hostess we were brought to a four seater table with an extra chair thrown in on one side to account for my FIVE PERSON reservation. Right beside our table was another round table with five sets of cutlery setup with more than adequate space to eat. Upon asking the hostess if we can move to that table instead since we would be more comfortable, the hostess simply laughed, said no and said we were "assigned" to this table and we only get the four seater table for the night, then proceeded to walk away with a "not my problem" attitude. It was super clear that she did not care whatsoever for Scaddabush's customers and wanted to do the bare minimum. I had to walk up to the head hostess, explain my situation and my displeasure with our situation to be moved to the round table with enough space for my whole family. This hostess ruined my father's birthday dinner by putting us into a negartive mood from the get go. EXTREMELY not impressed considering that I am a frequent customer.
They were repairing a door when we were there so that took a lot away from the experience. Also we had to start leaving to get our bill
The fresh mozzarella did not disappoint -- always a crowd-pleaser. Our server was very helpful with menu recommendations, however our appetizers and main dishes arrived at the same time. Made for a very crowded table and we would have preferred to enjoy each course separately. Otherwise, it was a beautiful meal in a great atmosphere.
Made a reservation but still had to wait for a table. Was given a tiny little round table with bar stools in the very middle of the restaurant walking area. We couldn’t even hear ourselves think. Our server did not get to our table until 20 minutes after we had already sat down and I practically had to scream my order to her. Would not recommend.
The service was great. Our server struck just the right level of funny, engaging and not over the top. The only drawback was the steak tasting a bit like liver. Not blaming anyone may just be how it was cured. We still had an excellent time.
For starters, The restaurant ran out of focaccia bread. Everything we ordered for appetizers and entrees had to change therefore we settled for something we didn’t want originally. The service was absolutely terrible. It took forever to get our drinks or even the waitress to come by our table.
It was a very disappointing experience because I’ve only ever had good experiences there.
Thank you for the social club 20 per cent off
Mozzarella on salad was very hard. Friendly service. More staff needed on the patio.
2 of the dishes came with virtually no meat sauce on it and we were charged for the small bowl of meat sauce the waitress subsequently brought out (we weren’t told there would be a charge). It’s not about the few bucks, it’s about the poor customer service.
Unhelpful server, took us 30 minutes to get our bill. We even had to ask another service to get it for us.
Waitress was inattention and food was subpar. The food was cold and lacking finesse. I frequent Scaddabush often with good service and food - not sure what happened this night.
Great visit. Staff and food was great.
I’ve never had a bad meal here. Amazing food. Tried the naked mozzarella and it was delicious!!!
My last visit I think they forgot my meal as my friend received hers and I was left waiting. We saw our waiter and he was on it and a little later my food came. Never had issues the other times though. It’s a busy place. Highly recommend it
We go there often and know what to expect. Tge summer menu is not great. The prawns pizza is dry n chicken pasta was more garlic pasta!. Stick with my usual n avoid their specials
Excellent food. Service is a little slow. Highly recommend the Tiramisu for dessert. The ratio of mascarpone cream is perfect!
Initially the music was so loud we had trouble hearing our conversation over it, however the staff were very accommodating when we asked that it be turned down and the rest of the meal wa very enjoyable.
It was ok but we were kind of squished having six people eating on a small tablr
Everything was fine with the service and food. The main reason I will not return is because of the restroom. Ladies Washroom was disgusting. Toilet seat was missing in one stall. One stall door would not lock. Numerous toilets not flushed. No paper towel to dry your hands. It really needed to be cleaned.
I am disappointed about the food this time. Pizza was not hot and just fairly warm. Feel it is not freshly baked.
The parking lot in the plaza has to be paid in certain areas. I would have loved to have the restaurant remind me of it (not many signs of this new thing in the parking lot) I got a ticket
None of the four of us liked it. Place was noisy, cluttered and felt like tables were thrown together feeling cramped along the sides of the restaurant. Although we were sure the restaurant was clean it had an appearance of being not clean. Only one of the four of us thought their meal was 'okay' but nothing special. Probably the dessert was the best thing. We all said we wouldn't go back and that we were disappointed. The staff, however, was very nice.
Excellent food, excellent serving staff. I felt that the "family size" was a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but it was all very tasty! Had it for lunch the next day, too! =)
Every time I go to there, I have experienced the good quality of foods and services. Also their price are reasonable, too. It is a good place for friends and family gathering.
We found things over priced. Our first Friday night out and didn't have wine. $50 price for a bottle of wine is just over the top. Food, considering most on the plate is pasta, also over priced. We will not be back. I mean, this isnt a high end quality restaurant. It sounded and looked more of a sports bar. Server was good... not her fault.
Extremely RUDE seating host. She had a lot of attitude and did not acknowledge us at the door. She then proceeded to make us wait 15-20 mins after our reservation time. No apologies, no smile— just terrible customer service!!
I went there for lunch with my girlfriends. As soon as I am about to enter the restaurant, one staff asked and made me sure that I parked at their designated parking spot so I it will be free otherwise it's a paid parking, front people are okay but accomodating. Our server is extremely good and very helpful. He even managed to switched us to the table area than the booth. Food was okay but limited choices. All in all it's a good Italian place
This is not my first visit nor will it be my last. The staff we excellent, providing the right amount of attention without being intrusive. The food came to the table quickly and was hot. You can really taste the difference in the food - the fresh ingredients really pop!
Had reservations, arrived 10 mins earlier and requested a table on the patio. Hostess mentioned tables are leaving and just need to clean up .. 30 mins later they tried to sit us in the dining room so we reminded them we wanted to sit on patio. After 45 mins we finally sat down and it would’ve been smart for the hostess to tell the server how long we waited and to get to us ASAP but the server wasn’t around until we stopped a passerby who happened to be our server . It took very long to just get a table and even have our order taken
The food was too salty to our liking and the pasta was soggy. The salad was only ok. We should have asked to have the dressing on the side. The dressing is a bit sweet to our liking.
In conclusion, the food was terrible, but service was good.
Great food and service! Ambience is rustic and cozy with a nice Italian feel. Delicious food accompanied with knowledgeable servers and great suggestions for dining! Overall pleasent dining experience and would definitely come again!
We met with friends that we hadn't seen in months. Had an amazing time. It was the first visit for my husband. He had the chicken and shrimp main. He said it was delicious. We sat on the patio and with the exception of the three mice running over our feet we had an excellent evening. Will definitely be back.
The waitress was too busy, wait long time to take order and wait long time to pay the bill
Food was not of good quality. Not value for money. Had invited guests and everyone was disappointed. Would not visit again!
My most recent visit wasn’t up to the usual caliber of this location.
Our usual appetizer of polenta tots had, in certain parts, such spicy sauce our mouths were on fire.
Starter Salads and mains came out at the same time and the charity bread, which came out much later, was a greasy mess.
