The food and atmosphere was very inviting from the beginning. The dinner and dishes were absolutely superb. The pastas were made fresh and they had a large selection of wine to choose from - and to top it off Alberto was absolutely amazing. He met all our expectations. He made the experience authentic, genuine, and fun. 10/10 I would recommend to anyone traveling to Toronto! Make sure to ask for ALBERTOI

Received a warm reception on arrival. Enjoyed the prosciutto mozzarella. The beet salad was tasty but a little heavy on the pickled onions and light on the arugula. Would also ask for dressing on the side in the future. Excellent, attentive service from Alberto.

Booked restaurant to have dinner with out of town friends passing through. Our overall assessment of this restaurant was poor. Had to flag down a waiter to get drinks going and our waiter was hard to understand, not helped by the ambient noise. Waiter did not verify the lactose intolerance questions that we asked despite him saying he would. Our dinner orders were taken and it took quite a while for them to arrive…they tasty but warm, not hot. Had to flag waiter down again to get the bill. These issues aside, it was the almost unbearable high level of noise and music in the restaurant to deal with. Table conversation was very very difficult…..one guest had to re- boot their hearing aids when they went off line. So, not recommended if you want to have conversation with your guests over a meal.

Food was served in less than 20 minutes. Food was great and my kids loved it, we couldn't finish the cheesecake we ordered so we took it home and it's so yummy. There was group of people beside us but they are not very noisy. We celebrated my daughter's bday but no special cake was given to her.

There was no Friday lunch crowd, so service was fairly prompt. Our server was pleasant but was also absent towards the end of our meal. We are still waiting for a particular server, who we were told would come by to provide parmesan and other condiments to the table. Lol! We were accidentally given lunch and dinner menus, so at one point, we were all confused as we tried to discuss dishes that some of us couldn't find. As to the food - mushroom alfredo, chicken parm sandwich with rosemary fries, and avocado BLT with caesar salad - they were average at best. The alfredo was a bit underseasoned, and the fries contained the small forgotten pieces that are usually found at the bottom of the bag. So, overall, it was not a very memorable experience, which was a bit disappointing. If you need a functional meal in a predictable setting, then this restaurant will fit the bill.

Did get the appetizer first. Got it after our meal. They did communicate the issue and didn’t charge for it. No one to clean the table after we were done for at least 20 minutes. Food very good. Ambiance good as always. Very friendly.

Chicken Avo BLT was all bread. Too pricey for what you get. Mozzarella was good, but small. Salads were decent size but soggy. For me, it's becoming a glorified Olive Garden.

The ambience and service were 5 star. My gluten free pasta was over cooked so it fell apart. There were only 4 small shrimp in my dish. I kept having indigestion after my meal which never happens! I had the red sauce so maybe it was acidic? I’ve been here over the years and it used to be amazing food. Unimpressed this time.

Try the truffle mushroom fettuccine and they’re amazing bruschetta. You won’t be disappointed. The flavour is on point. And if you have an opportunity for a server, ask for Jen, I’ve had her several times at Square One and she is just the right amount of attentive! ❤️Scaddabush.

We went here for my birthday and the food was delicious. The portions were just right. The ambience was nice. The service was not so great. Wanted to have some dessert but the server was just too busy with other customers.

This was my second visit at this location. My first was great but this time was subpar. Beer wasn’t as chilled as I’d like. Server got one of the orders wrong but did make up for it by offering some freebie. Mozzarella was very tough and spongy despite them claiming it’s made fresh daily.

We had a great server but the food is not as good as it was before the pandemic . We order espressos as well and they were watery not at all a real Italian expresso. The servers were amazing but the food is not top notch as it used to be and sadly the expresso experience , not authentic at all.
