Food was mediocre. Menu is limited. Service was super slow. We waited 40 mins between appetizers and main courses. While the table next to us that came much later got theirs at the same time. Then another 20 mins for deserts. But the check came very fast.
Scaramouche is our top restaurant choice anywhere, by far! We compare other restaurants to Scaramouche and to date, they have all come up short. That is why we have been going there for over 25 years. They know how to 'create' and combine ingredients in such a way that we simply eat in silence, savouring every spoon/forkful. We've never, ever left anything on our plates and are sorely tempted to lick them clean! The taste combinations are sensational and visual presentations are photo-worthy.
Another positive for us are the servers and staff. All are to a "T", professional and smooth. They are friendly but not overly gushy and are there when you need them and not when you don't.
The restaurant's layout is excellent and offers wonderful views of Toronto's skyline.
We are willing to pay the higher prices because of the quality of the food, the overall atmosphere and the top notch dining experience that Scaramouche provides. Our sons and grand-daughter have been treated to the Scaramouche experience for special occasions such as graduations and birthdays. We want them to know how sublime food and eating can be when done well!
We are clearly Scaramouche fans!
The food, service and view of the city was spectacular. We weren't rushed and it allowed time to sit with a drink and chat after dinner. Overall it was again a spectacular evening that leaves you talking about Scaramouche to your family and friends.
Doesn't get any better. Superb.
Celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary I was told by some friends that Scaramouche makes special occasions special. Did not feel like that at all. Nobody mentioned or said anything throughout the night and only when we ordered their famous cream pie did they acknowledge it with writing it on the plate. Maybe I should not have had higher expectations.
Outstanding classy service
Super delicious food
Price is high, but worth the experience
Not one of those wanna be fancy high end places, IT IS high end
Everything was excellent - food, service, etc., etc.!! Always enjoy coming here.
Overall great food and great service 😍
Food was great . Amazing view of Toronto . Frist time and not my last.
Loved it !!
I have never been disappointed and have celebrated many special occasions in both restaurant and the pasta bar. In addition to superb food the service is always impeccable and never pretentious. Treat yourself!
Made reservations based on a colleague's recommendation. The place, staff and food exceeded any expectations. Simply a jewel.
Enjoyed a truly romantic evening at Scaramouche. The view of the city is fantastic. Request a window seat when making your reservation. The meal was superb. The service was excellent. I will go back
Indicated gluten allergy and was not attentive to it.
Very good ambiance and competent services. Good value for money. Recommend for a date and celebrations.
We had a wonderful experiece celibrating our Son's Birthday! Tha candle and chocolates were a great hit. The food was excelent!
For some reason I had not been here for several years. I will not let it slip from my mind easily again. It continues to be a fabulous restaurant after so many years.
As always, superb service, fine food. A bit noisier than we remembered.
We have not been to Scaramouche for a long time, However, the food, service and window seating overall were excellent. Unfortunately the table next to ours was occupied by four very loud speaking men, which at times was a little over bearing. In all though a great 80th birthday dinner.
Was our 25th wedding anniversary. Fantastic service and overall experience
Food and service was amazing. Dessert was delicious. View of city was beautiful.
Wonderful experience with a great friend
They gave us the best seat in the house!!
It was our second time here and second anniversary! It was amazing, excellent service, food was amazing, and the restaurant has perfect atmosphere. Absolutely must visit if you have not. Prices are moderate so don’t be afraid!
Your categories are irrelevant. Scaramouche is fine cuisine of the highest kevel, with impeccable service. One goes there for that - superb food, superior service, a restaurant not a bar or sports joint.
Celebrated my 60th birthday on October 24. Visiting Toronto from Philadelphia. Fantastic on all levels. Coconut cream pie was phenomenal! Dean our waiter was the best!! Highly recommend!
My friends and I enjoyed our dinner at Scaramouche Restaurant. All the dishes we had were delicious and you can taste the sumptuous flavors in them. Of course the coconut cream pie was a perfect finish to a superb dinner. Service was impeccable.
Went here for our wedding anniversary. Beautiful place. Wonderful food. Quality over quantity. Nice views of the Toronto skyline. Mature clientele.
Food is very good but pricy. Seem to have a lot of “regulars”. Nice view of downtown. Coconut cream pie will have me coming back. This restaurant is a good choice for special occasions.
I felt that the creativity in the dessert that I had was greater than the main course which I had. The main course was very good, but the level of presentation and complexity of the dessert was higher. I believe that when I was last at Scaramouche the complexity of the main course was greater and "more special" in what was provided. As a person who really, really appreciates this I was therefore a little disappointed. We have high regard for Scaramouche and trust that you maintain the wonderful standards of high cuisine that we associated with your restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant. Unbelievable food. Outstanding wine list. Incredible service. What more is there to say...
Wonderful restaurant! Worth every penny. Staff, service and food could not be faulted.
Skirmish lived up to its reputation of being a source of exquisite food that is carefully prepared and presented to create and satisfy your appetite as well as your pallet. My wife and I started with the oysters from Ireland, followed by Irish Salmon for her and Venison for myself, all cooked perfectly with a generous complement of vegetables. In the desert was Apple Cake - an interesting and delicious version.
The view is astounding, especially at night when you can see all the lights. The service was spot on and our winter was always unobtrusive until we needed him. He was also very knowledgeable about the fare. There was a surprise at the end of the night, as the chef had somehow discovered that it was our anniversary and had written in beautiful script "Happy Anniversary" on our dessert platter. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
Great restaurant! Never disappointing. Food is wonderful....
It was wonderful, as always.
This was my first visit to the fabled Scaramouche, and it did not disappoint! From the complimentary valet parking on arrival to the personal greeting at the end of the meal, this was a perfect place to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday.
The location is unusual - effectively the basement of an apartment building. What you do not realize on arrival is that the apartment building is built on the side of a hill, so the restaurant has fantastic view over midtown and downtown Toronto.
The vibe is classy and understated, attracting a wide span of ages and pleasantly free of the braying Bay Street crowd that plagues so many of Toronto's high end restaurants. The place has a buzz - but it is focused on real conversation and the food!
The food is, quite simply, fantastic. I started with the octopus special appetizer (perfectly marinated and grilled) followed by the venison (pictured below) and concluded with a (shared) dish of Scaramouche's legendary coconut cream pie. My companions waxed lyrical about their filet mignon and the seafood "stew". All of us were impressed by two things - the intrinsic quality of the ingredients; and the unusual combination of flavors. The "amuse bouche" offered before the main course was a perfect demonstration of this - a delicate smoked salmon paired with tartare and a couple of other ingredients that I forget.
All in all, a fabulous experience.
We have spent our anniversaries here for the past 20+ years and have never been disappointed. A truly consistent and wonderful experience.
We had dinner with a friend from out of town to celebrate a promotion. My husband's dish was not cooked to his liking, the waitress apologized and instantly the dish was removed from the table and corrected and was exactly to his liking. The 3 of us had the coconut cream pie - it was a mile high and to die for!! That alone was worth the drive. It is also great to have complimentary valet parking, makes getting to dinner so much easier.
Excellent restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service (by Joel) was exceptional! My wife had the Filet Mignon and I had the pork dish. Both were perfect.
...and folks weren’t lying about the Coconut Cream Pie. Violated my diet.,.but worth it!!!
