Our dinner wasn’t quite as good as our meals at the Selkirk Grill have been in the past. This will not Stop us from returning.

A very disappointing Father’s Day dinner. Poor service, average food, poor value. Server tried his best but clearly didn’t have training for finer dining. On a Sunday evening, no table cloths, debris under the tables. The food took far too long and was very average - bland. We had no alcohol, no dessert and paid $120 for three of us, for a mediocre meal - not good value. We’ve had many exquisite meals over the years at Selkirk Grille, not tonight. Unfortunate that the quality of the food and the service has depleted to this degree.

This restaurant is not what it was last year. The food was awful and you could tell that they have cut corners. The service was basically non existent with lots of young servers milling around. The attention to detail is completely gone. I used to rave about the Selkirk Grill last summer, but for some reason it’s gone down the drain. Not sure what happened, but as I understand it from heresay, some hotshot from the US came in and got rid of everyone and now this is a new crew hired for 2024. It shows, and I unfortunately won’t ever go again. Sad.

Very happy to see one of my favourite places to dine had reopened. Our server was very friendly and professional. One diner had the Reuben sandwich which they loved. The other had the gnocchi. The original gnocchi dish was amazing. This was a little too ala dente and there was not enough sauce. There was also too much of a garlic taste for a delicate sauce. Unfortunately it was too cold a day to enjoy the city’s best patio.

Nice restaurant with ample parking and a nice atmosphere. The food was inconsistent in quality and flavour. Some plates were amazing full of flavour and others were blend. My wife actually asked for salt to add some flavour and she never add anything. For the price, I would expect consistent quality and taste.

We were a party of four who have eaten here fairly often. Our server was very sweet and attentive but a little inexperienced. Unfortunately the food was subpar on this night. Two of our party ordered the pork schnitzel and it was VERY dry and VERY overcooked, as was the spaetzle. They elected not to send it back because that’s always a bother and leaves two diners sitting with no food while the other two feel awkward eating their meals. The other two diners had the Steak Diane which was just okay. The beef was tender (the medium rare steak was more rare) but the mushrooms in the Demi glacé sauce was overly strong with soy sauce. The olive oil cake for dessert was very good with the berry compote. I have to say something about the extremely skimpy portions of whipped cream and butter. The whipped cream that came with the cake was ridiculous. Why even bother if all you’re going to give is two tiny rosettes on the plate? The same for the butter. We asked twice for more butter for our bannock (2 tiny rosettes to serve 4 pieces of bannock). And tiny portions of flavoured butter for the rolls. Come on, do you have a cream shortage? Be more generous, it’s not like your prices haven’t gone up. Overall, it’s still a good place to come for a meal, we may have just hit an off night.
