Sitting by the water is so relaxing here
A beautiful place to have a meal and unwind. Hands down, my favorite restaurant, especially in nice weather.
This is a gem. The view is amazing and the food was really good. Our party had several dishes and they were all delicious. From the rockfish to the tuna to the filet, I would recommend them all.
Excellent service with an enthusiastic wait staff. The food is cooked to order, so it is very fresh. The beer and wine selection is fantastic with reasonable prices. Wonderful view!
The Severn Inn is a lovely, waterfront dining experience. We had the pleasure of lunch on one of the outside decks on a beautiful, calm afternoon. Everything we ate was delicious: the deviled eggs, the roasted romaine, the soft-shell crab sandwich, the seared tuna tostada, and the Tres Leches dessert. The published lunch menu was augmented with four additional items that helped to round out what appeared at first glance to be limited offerings. With a glass of wine and a beer, the bill was a bit more than I anticipated for a lunch out. That having been said, we intend to return, probably for dinner, with the knowledge it will be a worthwhile splurge.
The Severn Inn is located on the Severn River across from the US Naval Academy. In nice weather there is ample deck space with tables. On our lunch visit it was raining, so we sat indoors. The menu was basic, offering varieties of lunch items. I had the crab louis, and the crab was plentiful and delicious. My lunch companion had the soft-shell crab sandwich and pronounced it excellent. Maybe it was because it took us a while to order—we were old friends who hadn’t seen each other in a year—and we had to send the server away several times before we ordered, but the service thereafter wasn’t prompt. She did refill a soda glass unasked, but after she picked up the bill folder very soon after it had been delivered and had not yet been reviewed, she was difficult to flag down when we were ready to pay. The prices were reasonable for the venue, the view and the variety of seafood.
We've been to brunch at the Severn Inn for a birthday and for Mother's Day. Each time, we had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The seafood is very fresh--especially the raw oysters Each time we visit, we immediately make reservations for the next visit! Highly recommended!
Inn was difficult to find, but staff helped us locate the restaurant. Although the on-line menu shows many options for dinner, a VERY limited menu was provided. The crab cakes were excellent, but the dessert left a lot to be desired. Prices were ultra high.
Planned my proposal at SI last Saturday, spoke with Jami to iron out the details beforehand. The entire waitstaff was ready for us and did such a great job helping. Food and service was great as well. Thank you!
Severn Inn is always wonderful!! Great food, excellent Sunday Brunch & a beautiful view of the Severn River and The Naval Academy. When the weather permits, the deck is a great place to eat, gather with
friends & family and relax with a drink and enjoy the view. Happy Hour in the bar is also wonderful.
The filet mignon with mashed potatoes was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The scallops with pasta was also amazing. The drinks were great and so was the location. Only thing that was strange to me was the table next to us all ordered things that weren’t on the menu. So if there was a special menu maybe we just didn’t receive it when we were seated.
Monday to Friday from 3 to 6pm, good happy hour items
Food was so so
Nice if you can sit out on deck and enjoy the view
I had lunch the same day. Crispy shrimp tacos. Service and food excellent. Dinner was very disappointing on both. Over cooked, over sauced, bland expensive proteins
Great location and service! VERY over-priced! $43 for crab cakes is ridiculous! All menu items at least 20% higher than other Annapolis restaurants, I do not recommend, probably ok for dinner and apps.
Its the view and sitting out side on a perfect night. I wish they would train their waitstaff, this is the second time we had a very unprofessional wait person.
Food was pricey but where in Annapolis isn't it? Wait staff was courteous, almost to a fault. Food was alright but slightly over embellished. I would still recommend the Severn Inn to friends for the view and ambience.
We always stop at Severn Inn when in the area. We've brought friends. They also enjoyed. The view is amazing. Food is great.
Way over priced. Won't be returning for dinner, but definitely would return for drinks and apps on the deck.
Crab cakes were more back fin meat than anything else no lumps and for $46.50, I can get a better crab cake at the Boatyard Bar & Grill.
New menu has a lot of surprises. Appetizer of Pork Belly, Scallops with Blueberries and corn cream was something we never experienced before but was excellent. Crab Louie Salad is huge and amazing. Wine list is terrific. Fried chicken looked great. We will go back to try that. Huge steaks looked perfect. Crab cakes were great, as always. Just a good place to be with great food and a nice clientele!
We eat here a lot and this was definitely an anomaly. Think it was a new waitress, but would definitely return.
Went for our anniversary. Service, ambiance and food - all amazing!
Great location to celebrate my mother's birthday. Wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful views. Highly recommend.
Tremendous views sitting right on the water. Not the caliber of service or food you would expect for $40-$50 entrees. Pub level service or worse. Not a good value.
This classy Inn on the Eastern shore of the Severn River can accommodate casual dining or white linen special occasion dining. We were seated near a window with a lovely view. The service, from Hostess towaitstaff and busboy was top flight.
Food was excellent. My wife is a crab cake connoisseur, and she said it was the best she has ever eaten.
My Chincoteague Oysters and the New Orleans Sheepshead (a flaky whitefish) was outstanding atop a sweet corn puree with fried cauliflower florets.
We will return!
Good food service ok needed to be more attentative
The location is great and the food is always good to great but the service can be somewhat spotty as was our experience on Monday.
Love this place. View is fabulous. Service and food always excellent.
Wonderful seafood. Fresh oysters and lovely presentations.
Wonderful asparagus sppetizer
Great view, food and service (Linda is amazing!)This is my second time here and won't be my last.
Great restaurant for all occasions. Frequent diner at this location
Food was fantastic. Spicy chicken app was my favorite! And the view is beautiful.
Broken water glass, lukewarm soups, 2 different kinds. Steak warmer than mashed potatoes and cauliflower. Bread hot and good. Waitress fine. Music at 7:30 was Motown, would be ok in bar not in dining room. 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine. Bill $192 without tip. Lukewarm food, left a cold experience for that price.
Tasty crabcake and plentiful vegetables. Service was friendly and prompt. Walnut cake dessert was exceptionally boring.
The Inn's dining room looks out onto the water, so that from virtually any vantage point you have a water view. It's beautiful. Noise level is reasonable, so good for conversation. THe food is hit or miss, sometimes being quite good and other times not so. I had cream of crab soup one night that was excellent, then next time I ordered the same thing it was mediocre. So, reliability from the kitchen is at bit lacking at times. However, I do keep going back. The view is wonderful, the service very good, the venue itself nice, and the food often very good. It is not inexpensive, but is also not the most expensive in the area. The food could be better for the price.
Always great food and service! Best view in Annapolis area.
Good location...beautiful waterfront view. Food was okay at best. Steak salad was tasty, crab dip had more cheese than crab, wings were not good at all. Cocktails were great. It was good enough to perhaps give it another try; perhaps try the brunch. I was underwhelmed and I had very high expectations for this place.
Lovely setting on the water and away from downtown congestion. Had a drink on the deck outside then a fabulous meal inside. Was a little pricey overall, but definitely enjoyable!
There is no denying the spectacular views of this place and I imagine in the spring and summer it would be wonderful to sit out on the deck. However the food was just so so and it's not cheap.
I would have to couch my recommendation with those things in mind.
